To me, Origin 2.0 and Let's Go Crazy 2.0 are by far his best looks. First of all the choice to show his forehead is *chef's kiss*, this particular hairstyle is his best look. Regarding the costumes, I think they're the right mix of flamboyant/sparkly and traditionally masculine, a perfect in-between that encapsulates Yuzu's style well. These costumes are also very fitting for a Prince and Nijinsky tribute respectively. The designs are original enough but the inspiration from these performers is clearly represented. I love that both of them are perfectly tailored to his body and they accentuate all of his lines beautifully. I like how fit and light they look (unlike Otoñal 2.0 which is too frilly and stuffy imo). Also, high-waisted pants are a 100% yes for him and I really appreciate the bold choice of pastel lavender. It's an unusual color in FS and needless to say, he's got a nice body and he's right for showing it off. The colors are just right, these shades of purple look gorgeous on him and on the ice. I adore the intricate designs of the LGC vest and the Origin top. Especially the latter- the flowers, the butterflies and the golden sparkles are such nice lovely touches. My least favorite costumes are Requiem and Otoñal 2.0.

Is the site really crashing? Personally I had no problem voting... I made 3 accounts and was able to vote three times without issues

Once you're done voting, I urge everyone to watch this fanvideo I just found https://www.bilibili.com/video/av51377517?from=search&seid=11642804338761321512 It's a play of the song "Love Story" by T. Swift, involving Yuzuru's interpretations of both Romeo and Juliet (aka R&J and R&J 2.0). it's an awesome really creative edit

i'm sorry but not even Yuzu could ""talk me into"" loving anybody... What each skater shows on the ice speaks for itself.

Hi, i'd appreciate if someone could help me. I'm looking for a video of Yuzuru's GPF 2016 Short Program (LGC). I've downloaded the B.ESP footage of it but I want to find a different version. In the B.ESP one, his 4lo is filmed from the back so you can't see his facial expression upon landing it. What I'm searching is the footage of him smiling so big after saving his 4lo landing (I've seen GIFs of it but I can't find any now). I think it might be the Japanese broadcast of it

This is what Javier said on his TV interview. What OP forgot to say is that the TV hosts told him "you two have such a healthy rivalry!" and he said "yes, it's really healthy" with a fond smile Here it is subbed

Live interview with Javi Fernandez. Streamed by IG user @ yuzuuzu. Translated from Spanish - Fan questions about Yuzuru: - Q: Can you tell us an anecdote with Yuzuru and something related to Spain and him? J: The only time he's been here in Spain was during GPF Barcelona and I know he had a good experience then. Well, he should tell you about that himself, haha. But I will tell you an anecdote: One time I went to practice -I don't remember which championship it was- and I forgot my training pants. And Yuzu told me that-.... -since I couldn't show up to compete in jeans!-, he lent me one of his pair of training pants. Not everybody does this! That's why I'm saying it. - Question from a fan: Have you ever had a problem/quarrel with Yuzuru? Maybe because of envy? J: No, no, never. You mean, because one of us had lost and the other had won? Never. Although sometimes.... (TN: he told these as funny/lighthearted memories, he kept smiling fondly while speaking). While we were training for an important competition and well, one of us was angry and the other one was a little angry too...... *pause*... I mean, we never yelled at each other!!! (*Javi and the audience laugh*). It was actually like, "I don't wanna see! Don't look at me! Today is not my day!" *laughs*. That's normal in training, it happened between the two of us, between me and other people, and between him and other people as well. But yeah, no. it's just those moments when we thought "I want to skate well! Everybody else is skating well except me!" *imitates angry face* *laughs* - Q: What do you think about the recent rule changes? You don't have to answer this... - J: Don't worry, I won't get myself in trouble! *laughs*. Because I, too, also tell them (TN: ISU?) these things *smug face* "There are good things and things that are disastrous right now. There are things that they try to solve, and stuff that hasn't been fixed. I believe the sport is evolving so the rules have to evolve too. I think +5/-5 GOE is a good start, since it make people consider "Is it better to do a good program instead of including very difficult jumps and thus ending up wiping the floor (TN: he means "having a splatfest")? One of the things I would change is the age and weight requirements to compete in each category. Because we have seen the arrival of too many 16-year-old boys and girls who win against everybody else, last 2 years in competitions and then they become good for nothing. Also, establishing a minimum weight limit, at this point is... (TN: I can't hear this part) that's it, I won't say anything else for now! *laughs*" Other things: - Javi wishes to become a coach someday and plans to bring his ice show to Latin America - Javi said he never had any established psychological training before competitions. - Javi has a great friendship with Plushenko. He told a really cute anecdote about how Plush saw him training at summer camp, when he was a kid. Plush always reminds him that he used to think Javi was a disaster back then ("he should find another hobby!"). Plush also tells him now that he would've never imagined back then that Javi would become such a good and accomplished skater - He says his favorite thing about skating has always been the Interpretation (and "putting himself in another person/a character's shoes")

Instagram user @ yuzuuzu just livestreamed a very interesting interview with Javier. He shared some strong opinions about the current rules in FS. He also shared really cute anecdotes about Yuzuru. I've also watched a new Javi interview on TV where he talked about Yuzu as well. The bits about Yuzuru are all really heartwarming. Please look forward to it, I'll translate everything later.

everyone should read this entire thread of tweets. this person brings up really good points... on another note, it makes me uncomfortable when people act like they know what's on Yuzuru's mind or what he thinks about these things. none of us do, but he's only expressed positive thoughts about his fans cheering for him.
-
so true.
-
i don't get it. yesterday everybody was upset about Yuzuru's words in the interview and everybody agreed to cheer for him louder than ever in the next event, so he'd realize how supported he is. but now "we shouldn't cheer for him because it's ""disruptive"" or because "others might feel bad"?". In that case shouldn't we tell other skaters fans' to stay mute too? why is it only a bad thing when his supporters do it? Remember how loud the spanish chanted for Javi at GPF 2015, or the intense screams for the russian skaters in Sochi.. this is the nature of competitions. these athletes are used to skating in front of a crowd- don't underestimate them...
-
Who gives a f*** what Rafael or Nathan have to say about it????? why would we attach that much importance to their words... They keep saying embarrassing excuses anyway like the "pooh psychological warfare" at PC And about the judges possibly "lowering his score" due to the HBD song: they will either way. it's impossible for him to be more underscored than he already is skaters are used to hearing loud cheers for Hanyu (and for certain other popular skaters), I don't see how this would be affect them any differently. i think it's underestimating his strong competitors to imply that they'd suddenly fail if they hear a HBD song.

Cmon, the Happy Birthday song lasts around 15 seconds. That's more or less how long it takes him to get up and bow after he finishes performing. It should not bother anyone. If the Pooh rain is allowed I don't see why this would be considered too distracting.
-
https://twitter.com/GpfYuzu/status/1198999706245971968 Please spread!! Fans are organizing a project to sing Happy Birthday to him after the GPF free skate !Whether his performance is terrible or excellent, nonetheless the crowd should still sing Happy birthday to him afterwards. What matters is celebrating his life and the fact that he is still competing. That alone is already worth cheering for.

I'm not sure if his mentality was an issue, but I do remember when the 112 SP happened at ACI 17, all I could think of was "this isn't right, he's peaking too early, even earlier than usual". I remember how Orser was saying that Yuzuru was already at his top form in July and that was my biggest concern. That, on top of the enormous expectations he was put under, because of the pressure to surpass his previous record-breaking performances of Seimei. Recycling those two legendary programs was a risky move. If anything, the injury did help temper those expectations.

Warning: COC 14 footage In this interview with Han Yan, he seems to be talking about the accident and Yuzuru. Can someone please translate it? There are JPN subtitles
-
Yes it's true... ISU are now using Yuzuru's photo as a clickbait thumbnail just so another skater can get more views

I want to share something to light up the mood. This track was released a few days ago and what amazes me is that it sounds like Yuzuru's theme song. I mean, the title "JOPPING" is a made-up word, explained in the chorus "when we're jumping and popping, we jopping" Also, these lyrics...: "step on the floor, star a riot where's the competition, man? it's looking one-sided" "opinionated but i'm always spitting straight facts" "fly like a paraglide" "believe me, i'm a sight to see" "let me see you put it on like a costume, make the crowd go wild in a small room" "i don't even care, we will burn on this stage" "you know how we get down? jopping! we'll keep jumping and popping here all night" From now on every time Yuzu pops a jump, I'll be singing this in my head. it would be amazingly funny if he skated to it.
-
Yeah maybe I used the wrong words... I meant to say that the typical non-FS-fan /in the west/ might know who Harding and Kerrigan are (thanks to the film), but they might not know who Yuzuru is
-
I don't know about Javi, but I remember that right after SEIMEI ended I closed the stream and googled Shoma's PB score. I knew that he needed 214 points to beat Yuzu, and IIRC his personal best score was 213 at the moment. That's when I realized Yuzu had won (even before I read about Shoma's fall... )

(I'm quoting OP's spoilers about the recently released DVD). You know what would be even more amazing? A biopic about him... as long as the film is done tactfully, respectfully and with his consent; it has the potential to be great. I'm bringing this up since I saw that Yuzuru is the third most popular figure skater on Wikipedia. The first and second place belong to Tonya -whose page has twice as much views as him- and Nancy Kerrigan. I think it's a shame that the most well-known figure skater is someone mainly known for her lack of sportsmanship... I feel extremely lucky to know Yuzuru and to have followed his journey. I never thought I'd become a fan of this sport, but his skating has brought me so much joy. Which is why I'm sad that many people still don't know him and aren't aware of what they're missing out on. I wish he could become the most well-known person (among the general public) in his sport at least... I feel he's one of the most incredible athletes in the world... Wouldn't it be great to tell his story on the big screen? I mean... winning the 1000th OGM after all the hardship, doubts and pain he went through? That's beyond inspiring
-
I think you should add this. Minute 4:00 you can see Grassl doing the Hanyu-spin.
-
I'm soft... At this point Beijing 2022 will look like a contest of who can make the best Hanyu tribute lol and I love it
-
Oh, I didn't consider that but it makes sense. He's forgiven (lol)
