Germany was outplayed by South Korea today, but that doesn’t change all the hard work they’ve put in this last quad and the accomplishments they’ve made. As we all know, back-to-back wins are hard!! I think one of the problems was the lineup Löw chose… It was the younger players and not the veterans who won the Confederations Cup last year, and many of them have been sitting on the bench this World Cup. Whenever Brandt was put in at the very last moment, he would almost score—imagine if they had him in from the start! I think after Germany's first WC games, there should have been more drastic changes to the lineup. In any case, I do think the German team is probably being harder on themselves than anyone else right now. They’re still one of my favorite teams and I support them regardless of results.
