Well, I liked Yuna - nice flow across the ice. Sorry for Alina - but I really don't think her program is helping her much.

Alina can place 4th and make the final with 24 points since she'll win a tiebreaker by virtue of her 1st place in the first GP. And she makes up a LOT of ground with her FS and not many in this group can do as well in the FS as she can.

It's not that odd though. She has just turned Senior. First year in the Seniors is usually exactly like this. Up and down, until the person settles, and gets used to it all. Alina of course has all the Olympic hype on top of her head too, which is not helping.
So I don't think it's any particular mental issue - this is normal!
That everyone expected her to be Zhenya, is another matter. I've said it before, but Zhenya is a competitor we have not had for a very long time. Her head is her greatest weapon. Expecting Alina to be this way is not fair to the kiddo. She will grow into it, I am sure. It just takes time.
