VIDEOS TO BE ADDED ASAP

Changing the discussion toward the Men field for a moment, is anyone else surprised that Nathan only did 2 quads in his free program? He has a Quad Loop now and it looks good! I like his SP this season and I think his LP has promise. I hope when he adds more quads it doesn't devolve into jump-a-thon like last year.

Not surprised cuz there were interviews that he will not do all the quads here.

Hmm... not really. It was discussed in the general skating chat re: strategy. The general thoughts are he starts of with less quads but better choreography + transitions to build up his PCS score and as the season progresses he can add more quads and even though the program will have more empty spaces and less transitions because of it, it won't decrease his PCS score  plus the added PCS boost of jumping quads as well.

I think it's not only strategy. It was clear that right now he doesn't have stamina to jump too many quads, even some of the triples seemed tight in the second half.

Who's prediction came true? @ralucutzagy got 1st and 2nd right for both ladies and men! :tumblr_inline_ncmif5EcBB1rpglid:

Mura betrayed us all!

So I just saw Marin's programs! I loved both of them so much, I'm so happy for her winning her first Senior International competition (right?) :smiley-love017:

And just to compare the two Turandots we've seen herre and in Lombardia... if I have to be honest... Marin's version touched my heart way more. :winky:

He seemed very out of steam by the second half that I was surprised. Then again, I don't follow FS that intensely other than for Yuzuru.

Maybe cuz it is early in the season. Last season he made a lot of mistakes at his first GP, the second GP already was much better.

On the question of 7 quads in the FS, Nathan's reply:

“That’s a little crazy talk, I think,” Chen said, according to the Deseret News. “I think that there’s a lot of potential with the programs that I have right now. Adding a bunch of quads is not really the main priority. It’s building back to where I was, and to keep on evolving the rest of the program.”

That's certainly refreshing to hear. (Though he'll still do 6, right? :P)

Lol, yes quite possibly he'll still try to do 6.

But who knows what he's thinking really. I'm extremely suspicious of what everyone's saying about their strategies nowadays lol.

ETA: And when did I turn into Boobskirt rank? Guess it's quite fitting to start the season with that lol.
