I mean, some programs are fairly obvious, but some are ambiguous and it would be awesome to have the insight into the messages he is trying to convey... Yes, he did it before. I remember Hopurega, TenChi, Origin (or it was SLB who explained the meaning?), Masquerade

The first line "さよならと指切りの関係 Sayonara to yubikiri no kankei" should be read "The relationship between goodbye and pinky-promise" instead of "finger-cutting" https://ejje.weblio.jp/content/指切り I tried to rewrite all the lines, but sorry, I have given it up. Many wordings are missing in the translation. But even if they are included, I'm afraid it's better for you to think it's too philosophical to understand Ah thank you Suzy Q for trying to help us understand! I read on twitter the song's underlying meaning is about not looking at/comparing yourself to others, but living in a way that is true to your own understanding of your own self worth - does that sound about right to you? It seems to fit with how Yuzuru might be feeling these days post-Beijing (post-the-last-4-years to be honest!)
June 17, 20224 yr Thank you everyone for the updates! Yuzu has been trending for me on TW since this afternoon and we don't even have much to go on! I need to watch everything before I judge the costumes heehee. 5 hours ago, lajoitko said: Some info about the song and its meaning [NEWS] Wow, this meaning is powerful. I didn't listened to the song posted here because I want to listen to it with Yuzu's skating, but it's in Japanese right? Since his Japanese choice of programs have been criticised constantly by illiterate people, I hope he will skate to Japanese song next year in galas. Just to say this is me nd I'm not going to change because of you. 5 hours ago, caramelicht said: I feel blessed today that we got the sneak a peek of his costume and HIM. Why do i feel that his program costume has a meaning. it feels like how the "light" slowly tainted by the "dark". It just my interpretation, hehe I'd like to think it's the light winning over the darkness Let's hope tomorrow we will have more info... But I think we won't have any "video" till Shizuoka. Please FaOI just drop Kobe next year, thanks.

The FaOI booklet also includes interviews with the skaters, and Yuzu has expressed there his thoughts about the choreos (as he did for Real Face). Not sure if Kobe booklet has that though as it seems that the interview focused on Yuzu / Javier interaction. We could also expect for Yuzu to comment on the choreography in one of the after show interviews. Of course, we will have to wait for this for another week thanks to Fuji TV. I would love to learn more about how Yuzu interprets the song, even if he doesn't give us all the shades of meaning. Like @caramelicht, I also think that the white/purple/black costume has a deeper meaning. The purple is so similar to Origin 2.0 purple, the costume he used when the scoring issues became beyond scandalous. Yuzu has commented in old interviews about accepting that dualities can coexist. The costume can represent the coexistence of opposite, yet complementary feelings, that are helping him to growth? Anger, sadness, disappointment vs passion, hope, happiness.
June 17, 20224 yr So not even a short video clip from a News show, huh? At least we got a few HD photos so we can see what the costumes look like. I like how the black costume is sleeveless on one side. Since the costume is black, your eyes get drawn to his bare arm and it really shows off those sculpted arm muscles! I saw a tweet not long ago that the purple Origin costume was on display somewhere, but it was taken down for a short time with a note saying that it would be returned for display in a few days. People were wondering if Yuzu needed that costume for something, and now it looks like he might have used it for the Raison costume because the purple part is very Origin. I want to see what that costume looks like in motion. I love that Yuzu's having fun learning new dance moves and trying out new music and styles. His dance skills have really improved so much in a short time! Let's hope we can get some footage soon!
June 17, 20224 yr I have not seen this shared here, please let me know if I’m double posting! Don’t want to clog the thread! A little bit more insight into the choreo:
June 18, 20224 yr I- I am a bit confused by the choreo being depicted… I will just have to wait and see though
June 18, 20224 yr A bit late to the party but does David really choreo Raison or something else? If Yuzu goes by two pieces again, ala Masquerade and Crystal Memories then we don't know for sure, yes? Anyway, if he does then it's a pleasant surprise for me. When I heard of David choreographing Yuzu's new piece, I thought it was going to be in line with what he has been putting out lately, kinda sappy and bland classical/lyrical stuff. So, a JPop number is a welcoming (and fun) change (And Yuzu probably needs energetic, wild programs that have something he has never done before, even if they might not be the best he can put out there). If it turns out to be classical and/or lyrical (what Yuzu performs so well) then I hope it will rise to the occasion.
