So, people who tried the TV streams...did it work out? Worth it?

I've never had as much trouble finding a good stream ever as I had tonight.

NewHome worked really well for me on Windows with Chrome, but others reported problems, so your mileage may vary. In particular, someone couldn't get it to work on an iPad, I believe.

I originally tried to get JapanTV to work yesterday, but the app keeps crashing when it starts for me.

Thanks, everyone! That was so much fun to be able to watch FaOI with you guys after a long time! See you and stay safe and healthy!

I couldn't get NewHome to work on the iPad and I didn't figure out how to install for Windows the JPHD app ('cause the link wouldn't work).

I switched to JapanTV Standard and had no issues - worked perfectly on the IPad, next time I'll try their Windows app for the laptop

I think so, the quality wasn't any better but at least I didn't have to stress about it

Was it worth it: To me, yes. I got the three days subscription.

Did it work: Also yes. It worked perfectly until the end (I also have alternative links opened in the background for insurance).

I didn’t remember, but I also watched one other show using the TV stream

recommended at that time. It was a positive experience, so no hesitation on my part.

You have to use the link they send you in the email when they send you the activation code. The link from their website is missing the https:// so it doesn't work.

that 1A does look weird compared to his usual delayed1A, but weren't reports about it in previous days too?

Spoiler

I doubt Zuzu, no matter how extra he is, would even think about trying a 4A on not fully healed yet ankle, with little preparation in a short rink, under show lights and during an EX...too risky, and too pointless. And certainly wouldn't do that just to stake a "claim" on the jump (regardless of IM being or not his fan, which I'm still kinda on the fence about, no matter how friggin competitive Yuzuru is, he is not petty).

I doubt he has even be able to resume the kind of high level training needed to try that jump semi-safely, he's "only" showing 4T and 3A here, which are certainly an encouraging sign, but we know he is able to land even in the worst physical conditions.

His ankle is still not fully recovered, just well enough for him to put 100% in the show. He does have a penchant for disclosing only half truths, and giving his all for a show doesn't even equate being pain free when skating...

now that's dangerous.... jeez dude, take it easy:tumblr_inline_n2pjd0smCx1qdlkyg: (also, thankfully he threw the cup&bracelet low and they didn't bounce onto the audience.. ETA: wait, after all it did reach the audience somehow)

the Japan TV standard subscription & Japan TV app for Windows worked well, though honestly, being a paid service, could have been higher definition (not that it was bad, far from it, but didn't look a 1080p. The ISU YTstreams have higher quality, the one thing they do well tbh). No freezing tho, it kept running smoothly all the time, so to me very very reliable, no worrying about scrambling for a link or having to put up with dreadful loading icon...

The JP HD app for New Home instead for some misterious reason wouldn't even open (actually, I managed to open it a couple times at first, but didn't shows any video nor menu, just a light blue screen, even after I specifically told my antivirus to let the program run freely and restarted my system:shrug:

But apparently for some it was the opposite:tumblr_inline_mg16f1RxCn1qdlkyg:

Btw, it's possible to get another 3-days trial using a different email (I had bought a subscription for SOI21, so this time I registered another mail, even using the same paypal it went through. On the app, I just logged off from previous account, registered inserting new mail and a chosen password and added the new authocode, which is what will give you access to the stream)

I'm unsure wheter sacrifice yet another mail for next week  the liveqq today worked, only, some of the performances it skipped were nice ones I woudl have been sad to miss. But I guess maybe I can spare subscription(&yet another mail) for next half of faoi and catch all the missing performances when full brodcasts gets uploaded by fans... after all, the reason I pay is cuz don't wanna miss Yuzu, and that liveqq showed the Yuzu parts just fine...

I wonder if then the earthquake, even if weak, could be what made him a bit uneasy? Maybe after all it wasn't anything to do with ankle?

I have seen it without problem with New Home. I had a hard time getting it installed on my laptop cause I didn't understand how to do it, but once installed, no problem :)

I fully agree, but not complaining, didn't have to worry that the stream will freeze or so.

THANKS Everyone - that was my first ever baby fanyu joint Yuzu's performance watching & commenting.

I found some on-site reports that say they felt the quake during Yuzu's performance. I wonder if it had affected him. Glad that it wasn't that big.

I think it was Yuzu himself that caused the earthquake....  :)
