March 23, 20224 yr Not sure if anyone's seen or heard this but YIKES (if you have a hard time hearing what they said a transcription is in the thread). If these two are allowed to commentate any further competitions the ISU is truly mental. For an organization that's supposed to be supporting its athletes is doing a great job of angering and putting them down
March 23, 20224 yr I just read about ISU commentators, just LOL, I thought it can't get any worse but they are seriously pushing the limits... Ugh should be fired immediately, won't happen of course because this organization is shameless but... no words.

I had developed beef with SimonR &co for other things, like the uselessly "positive" commentary that added little of value, the inability to get certain (Asian) names right that showed lack of care on his part, how he ruined wtt21 gala HWS with his inane comments right after Yuzuru had literally explained he meant for the program to bring light in difficult times (and the least Simon could do was keep quiet and respect the significance of the moment)... but this is certainly a whole new level of LOW that we never got from any commentator on ISU official stream (despite how most of them has at some point said questionable things). Just shows how fake all that "positivity" was🙄 we got a glimpse of Simon&cocommentator real mind. I hadn't really been expecting much from him as a commentator, and yet somehow I still feel still disappointed with him I hope ISU won't turn a deaf ear on this. It was caught live on record and a Canadian coach&prominent fs figure is involved, so maybe they'll actually do something. In the past they (kinda) acknowledged fans' criticism on socials and switched commentators (or maybe I'm giving them too much credit and replacing ChrisH with PaulA(?) after YOG20 and then Paul with MarkH after 4CC20 was just a coincidence?)
March 24, 20224 yr Ughhh I have just posted about these 2 awful commentators on the salt mines thread - Im always complaining about Simon in the competition threads (though watched live qq today).
