Madeline was great, 3rd, and got us into the final, but Roman had a really rough go. I hope he can get it together for the individual. He was so unsettled... it was a bad bomb.

He was probably counting on Keegan being there in time to do the FS. And if he made the mistake of looking at the news out of Toronto today at all, it might have unsettled him.

Going to sleep happy in the knowledge that Yuma skated his little socks off and got Team Japan big points.  :loveshower:

Or maybe not going to sleep an ANA flight has just landed :fingerscrossed:

Just caught up on everything: I'm really happy for Yuma, that was one hell of an Olympic debut. I do think the score was slightly high but I digress, Mark's score was far worse for what he put out. I'm so sorry for Roman though gosh

Poor Roman, I really felt sorry for him. Being the only Canadian man currently and helping Team Canada might be too much pressure for him. I hope he will have a good rest today and will be prepared well for the individual. Fingers crossed.🤞

Boyang's Lutz was as fantastic as ever. 😍He has consistency issues but he fought until the end which was good to see.

Mark did the job and handled the pressure well. His jumps look quite small and he looked a bit tired..but I loved the commitment to his performance in the second half. You can see where the inspiration is coming from 😉

Yuma had great Olympic debut. His jumps look so stable and the effort on 4Lo was good (though it should be negative GOEs on it, not +2s, +1s). His skating is so smooth and fast compared to the rest in this group, his knee bend is also great. He lacked performance and he rushes through the music, though, so 9.25 or 9.43 points for these components are grossly overscored imo. Only the Austrian judge got it right.

Vincent had some issues today and his skating looked labored and weak, especially after Yuma. At least he didn't give up after falling, URing his jumps and had two 3A combos that brought him some points at the end.

So far Japan is doing its best. If Knierim/Frazier weren't placed above Riku/Ryuichi, the difference would be 1 point between Japan and USA but now. Commentators talking about Russia - USA battle but Russia wins it anyway.

Just watched Roman's skate...eesh! The poor guy. I hope he can shake it off before the individual event starts.

12 points between his highest and lowest scores with that esp for the 4Lo ranging from -2 to +2.

JPN and HUN went crazy for him.

A joke, really.

The step out on the 4Lo was clearly visible as well. Blatant.

Yeah I like Yuma but he should not have broken 200 in my opinion, I was expecting something in the 190s tops

oh oh... JSF and Japanese judge are definitely not holding back for Yuma. The scores of the JPN judge is a great example of national bias (for selected pets though) wow

I just saw Yuma's protocols and..... excuse me, how can his 4Lo get positive GOE, yet +2 from two judges? I can't believe stepping out on 4Loop on the fcking Olympics stage gets positive GOE? RIP FS.
