I've read people in China are harassing Yi Zhu after her bad short program, especially as skater not born in China who "took place of local athletes" :( I hope the girl has a lot of support because it's bust be very hard for her now... :(

Rather than harassing that poor girl they should cry at officials for actually putting her in that place creating the whole controversy.

Immature brats, the lot of them.

Unfortunately with anything politics related in FS, it's the athletes who are most visible so they're the ones who bear the brunt of the criticism. I feel bad for Zhu Yi. She seems like a sweet girl but the pressure got to her. My mom is more plugged into Chinese news than I am and apparently/the talk is that they chose her because it looks good for China that she gave up her US citizenship for a Chinese one. Her situation is highly political and when you involve the ego of nations you're bound to lose either way. Honestly I wish the Olympics were less about nationalism and more about the athletes themselves because the former just gets too annoying sometimes.

…then there’s Eileen Gu who is competing for China, is hyped to the highest heaven, and who is keeping her US citizenship even though China doesn’t allow dual citizenship. Bad taste and bad faith everywhere.

Aww, poor Zhu Yi. She was just trying to stay on her feet on those jumps.

I love her costume though. The skirt is so pretty, like rose petals.

Too much nastiness...too much pressure.  Really feel for Zhu Yi poor kid she's in floods.

Aw, i really feel for the young ones when they have such a bad day.

Aww poor girl was about to cry in the middle of that skate. :( I have never felt so bad for an athlete. This was so hard to watch.
