Oh, I don't wish it on anyone. I feel really bad for Vincent, and COVID is random, so it could happen to anyone. I'm just saying that, given that it's a factor, all our predictions for the free skate could be very wrong.

Either watch it to the end, or lose it completely and see the results. At least for me those are only options, I would die but not sleep at all. Actually, it's in the middle of the night for me (or really early morning), but I definitely couldn't sleep even if I decided not to watch, so... will have to endure another zombie day at work @airiI would recommend just go to the Planet and chat to everyone else after watching his skates. That's what I'm planning to do. Get all that emotions out with your fellow Fanyus, and then maybe it's time to check the results. If not, just go to bed and check the results the next day.
February 8, 20224 yr If he lands it I want to see it. I don’t care about the podium. Not saying I’ll necessarily go back to sleep if he does but I want the option - my head is full of concrete and I feel like a zombie.

The lyrics about not giving up after setbacks have always brought me comfort and would be suitable for this moment. Although letting it all go and doing a fun programme like LMEY would also be great. Anything is great when it's Yuzu YEEES, it is quite unlikely, but I agree with you very much! Beautiful coreo by Nanami-sensei. When I was in Japan, I watched this live at NHK 2014 after that incident. It was really breathtaking performance, out of this world.
February 8, 20224 yr On one hand, everything seems very predictable and podium seems to be fixed for Nate, Yuma and Shoma. But on the other hand, Yuzu, his 4A story and his FS seem very unpredictable to me. I don't know what to expect and what to prepare myself for. Also ice is very slippery and it doesn't mean what happened to Yuzu today might not happen to someone else too.

Not to mention the last group will have the Olympic pressure of skating in the last group with the pressure to win OGM. That is a different monster. Even Patrick Chan who won 3 World Gold got mentally broken under that olympic pressure. I keep saying the Olympics pressure is a different monster in itself and there are very few skaters who can skate clean free programs under that.

That is true but this Olympics feels different, lack of audience has reduced the pressure imo. But yep, correct, ice is more slippery especially in Olympics FS.

February 8, 20224 yr To quote Max during worlds '17 Quote welcome back to Planet Hanyu! Population: one, only him!

There's one little thing I remembered that's quite nice. Boyang said a couple of days ago that one of his goals for the Olympics is to be in the same group with Yuzu. So, at least his wish is coming true.
February 8, 20224 yr At least Italian casual watchers will get another point of view, blessed people.

Regarding all the posts about watching live being too stressful. I wish figure skating was a fairly scored sport, so that competitions would be real sports comps, exciting and full of surprises. I wish I could still watch figure skating comps just enjoying the excitement instead of being stressed about how Yuzu and other skaters without backing will be robbed and how shameful the judges will be to reward Nate and other ISU favorites with undeserved points. I wish I could watch women's comps without knowing who will win beforehand. I will never forgive the ISU and certain national feds for mistreating Yuzu and other skaters and ruining my enjoyment of figure skating.
