afaik top 3 placements in FS comps get always tested, + random samples among he others. Don't ask me the source tho XD

anyone knows what time is Yuzuru's practice session? between the worry over his ankle, the s*itty nikkansports article and video, and this whole team meadal doping mess, I am uncapable of finding the hour on my own, I have two different times :14066882:

imo we could hardly give eteri credit for "coaching" anymore bc she's like the skating mafia boss blacklisting any skater who DOESN'T train with her and making sure they don't chosen for any big events (or in the case of Zhenya, any jobs in the industry) , so of course all the top skaters in Russia train with her

Eteri is like John Gotti, "The Teflon Don", of figure skating. Even John Gotti went down in the end though.

Just caught up with this and honestly I just feel for Kami so much. That pressure on a 15 year old.... it's gonna break her

The rumor is that RUS will keep the team medal but Kami will be banned from individual competition. Very nice. The way they are battling for that worthless team medal.

Jesus. That doesn't make any sense. USFed and the media would probably throw a fit! On the other hand, I cannot stomach "double-Oly-gold NC".

there was apparently a similar case in another sport and they also decided similarly to this: keep team medal but ban from individual.

Is there going to be an official statement from ISU/IOC/RusFed/etc about what's gonna happen with Kamila/ROC?

WTF!! How does this make any sense?! If an athlete is "doping" how can her results still count? But if she is not "doping" then they will still throw her under the bus and get her banned from competing anyway?! So much for "team support" and "fed support" ... i hope Kamila has a good support system because she has none from her fed or probably even her coaches.

Well it's 10.22PM right now in Moscow, so I would assume that statements will come out in about 12 hours...

do you know which sport?

I suppose tennis

I'm just a little confused as to why, of all things for Kami to get flagged for, it's unofficially been reported as trimetazidine (heart medication) according to Russian media. As in, like I'm confused as to why she would be taking it, because if she truly has serious heart issues why is she skating/how is she able to put out the programs she does?

remember meldonium? sharapova got caught for using it because they started to ban it in 2016 and she had been taking it for her whole career. trimetazidine sounds similar -- just increases bloodflow which helps w/ heart conditions but the extra oxygen flow also helps with performance.

[edit] Nvm -- trimetazidine is still banned, just got banned more after the new classification. Ok, so it is banned since 2014.

Oh my gosh. Just read that it was Kamila they are focusing on? This morning at work people were talking about a doping test failure, and I was thinking that it had to be Kamila. I even told my sister last night that if it was about doping, I bet it was Kamila. Why? Not sure, just vibes around TEteri and rumours etc. My second guess was a member of the pairs team. I would really like to know what the "non performance enhancing" drug was that they discovered...

I can only wish Kamila well in this most horrific situation (not in terms of keeping the gold or doing singles, doping is doping), but in terms of her mental health.  This was shaping up to be the best time of her sporting life. Poor kid. The scrutiny/pressures/criticisms that she might be facing... :(.. and Eteri might be facing some questions as well...  and there I don't feel any sympathy.
