February 9, 20224 yr I really hope Yuzu skates lights out and burns the arena down and the rest of skating is the worst comp ever. ISU deserves to be embarrassed and have egg on their face. I also hope this is the last time FS in in the olympics. I'm so angry rn. The men's comp fueled me with rage but this mess of making Kami a sacrificial lamb, when everybody knew what Eteri and her minions were doing and they just looked the other way until those Wada tests came back. All of these federations and officials are trash. Throw it out in 2026.

A lot more sports outlets like the one below should report on it tbh. imo we could hardly give eteri credit for "coaching" anymore bc she's like the skating mafia boss blacklisting any skater who DOESN'T train with her and making sure they don't chosen for any big events (or in the case of Zhenya, any jobs in the industry) , so of course all the top skaters in Russia train with her
February 9, 20224 yr Wow reading about kamila doping... Poor kamila... She's just a kid. Pretty sure the idea of doping is from the adults around her. Probably Eteri team. Surely this will take a blow for her mental state.. Also, this doping case could affecting Anna and Sasha's mental for sure... They both in the same team as kamila.

Esp considering it’s not even performance enhancing like wtf it doesn’t give her any edge so why hm some non-performance enhancing drugs are used to hide other performance enhancing drugs, that's why they get flagged (tho i doubt Kami was taking any performance enhancing drugs she needs to hide)

As for retirement - it will happen at some point but I get the impression he’s good for a little while, unless there’s a bad injury. People have been anticipating it on these pages since PC and it hasn’t happened yet. He seems to have regained his love for skating which I was afraid was deserting him in 2019/20 season. I was so relieved when he ditched Otonal and Origin, and reinstated his own warhorses to bridge the gap until his new programmes were ready. I don’t think he necessarily wants a big competition send off either. I wonder whether if he came close to his idea of perfection in a lesser competition like a GP or 4CC - had a NHK/ GPF 2016 moment - he might come away and just release a statement a few weeks later. I think it might be a folding his tents and going quietly away rather than a fanfare moment. I really trust him when he said that: a/ he's in the best shape ever. (possibly the only positive thing out of this pandemic - it gave him time and space to train); His form is fantastic, it shows, really, he has been SOLID, modulo random sh*t luck like asthma attack, holes in ice and what not. His nationals programs are solid, PERFECT. and b/ his goal is a ratified 4A. So not medals, just 4A (and obviously he will never just jump 4A without a program). I think he is so close. He will quit the circus whenever he lands that 4A. And truly, this is the one goal that ISU cannot take away from him. He won't quit until then. I believe that he will achieve it within the next few competitions. I think all the 2ft landing are intentional, to avoid injuries. He can absolutely do it. Re: Kamila. I bet that Russia will deny everything. I really hope that Russia will boycott this Olympics, then this whole competition can go to pot, along with the ISU judging circus and fake medals.

I've told my father about this doping thing, he said "they never learn". Seriously though she is 15! Gosh, it was a really bad moment to enter figure skating... I mean they are expecting new viewers but what they will get is people stay away from this circus.

System reform happens incrementally though. I think the biggest thing is to have AI scoring on technical stuff, and maybe a part of PC scores can also be computed by AI based on ice coverage statistics, for example. Then the judges have less levers to monkey. Can't ask for awesome judges because.. well, the history of the sport said so.
February 9, 20224 yr Yeah, I believe unless serious injury (nope, nope, noooooope), he will keep training for 4A and lands it. I believe in him. Someone did write before that he might want to retire if both Yuma and Shoma finish on the podium and he doesn't. I think differently, maybe it could even free him somehow from carrying all that pressure for the country all the time and focus completely on his thing (though not completely sure, somehow Yuzu's aura is and will be, as long as he competes, making him the leader of the team in the eyes of the public...) Honestly though, I really expected him to end the career after Pyeongchang, but he found the reason so stay and give us those rare moments of magic, for which all the suffering is worth it. Many people here want him to quit now, and for some time (I know all because they care about his well being) , I just want him to do what he wants for as long as he wants. End it on his own terms. I doubt it's here, because it already isn't on his terms. Anyway 11 hours until the end of this thing. *googles 'how to speed up time'*

Every single competition there’s over scoring but rarely any verified doping It's true that scores are heavily manipulated in this sport, but that shouldn't make the use of doping less severe. It's not been a big topic in figure skating yet, but with the increasing number of quads and even thoughts about quints, the enormous physical demand and burden on the body does raise many questions regarding doping in this sport. If a skater is able to skate a program with multiple quads consistently clean with rocksolid jumps, of course there is the suspicion of doping in the air. This is a sad reality that many other sports had to deal with for years already. Now it has reached figure skating too, it seems.

In tennis, the greatest champions were used to get tested like every third day (cough cough Serena ) and others like never. When athletes are tested for doping, it should be across the board and done fairly and transparently. Which is not something I’m expecting from the ISU lol
February 9, 20224 yr The rumor is that RUS will keep the team medal but Kami will be banned from individual competition. Very nice. The way they are battling for that worthless team medal.

There so many issues, in speed skating and FS, like they do in boxing and weightlifting Not to mention all the disqualification scandals that happened in short track this week. I already stopped counting how many very disputable decisions were made. The ISU and FIS (ski jumping) did everything wrong what could have gone wrong at these Olympics in less than a week.
