January 9, 20224 yr Anyway, it was a fun night. USFS bringing out Artur to lowball Yuzu's 4A attempts meanwhile Nathan fell on his choreo sequence. Karma is sometimes very harsh. The conclusion is that Yuzu is absolutely right in going after 4A. Landing it will make USFS and us stans traumatized forever. Can't wait for that day

Sadly pretending to care has gone completely out the window again look at Nathan's criminally high PCS scores (91 somehow) for what he put out on the ice today

The truth is Ilia already deserved the gold here. Before the season started, Nathan was talking about his winning streak inevitably coming to an end - I am not convinced that he enjoys skating at all, I really think his career plan was 2018 Oly gold and retire. You can see his heart isnt in it - all the messing with programmes (4 years to get THAT right at least!) and he seems almost embarrassed to me when he sees scores (not that he ever says anything about it of course), I really wouldn't be surprised if the Olys dont turn out the way many of us expect it to. Oly judges wouldnt/couldnt be this kind to him surely if he skates like this, if we seen a clean Yuzu, a clean Ilia, a clean Shoma, a clean Yuma. This wont have done Nathan's confidence much good, this performance today, and no chance to redeem himself prior to Olys....whereas Yuzu is going into the Olys with his wonderful JNats performances.

January 9, 20224 yr Would they actually send Malinin over Jason? It wouldn't really make any sense. He's never performed this well internationally, and he hasn't been in any big competitions as a senior. As a senior his highest total is 222.45, and that was his most recent competition. As a junior his highest was 245, and while he won, that's still just the junior level. I know the USFSA is not known for its common sense, but sending a kid with good, but not outstanding results as a junior after one good performance? I don't think even USFSA is quite THAT dumb. Then again, looking at the results for the other two medalists, who knows
January 9, 20224 yr Do you think Yuzuru will have a little giggle at Nathan's ICONIC choreo seq fall?? I would if I was him, but maybe he's nicer than me??!!!

Malinin delivered well today and if he can continue that he could do probably top 6 finish in Beijing with relative ease

(we can't pretend the probability of clean 4A is high with that little time) then I really hope he can end it with little regrets, I feel like he choose the only weapon he can fight with, and knows that it's hard to use, but will stick to it no matter what...
January 9, 20224 yr Seeing people saying Nathan is so great that even with falling he is miles ahead. Yes, miles ahead on overscoring geez

Honestly I'm going into Beijing with the assumption that Yuzu won't get gold cause of scoring and I'm just gonna try enjoy the experience

Well, this is the narrative. As the commentator kept repeating, Nathan is so super, duper blah, blah, blah... Yuzu won JNats in such a convincing way, showing the world who the top boss is. Therefore, the US fed had to make Nate the US champion and give him ludicrous scores in order to continue the narrative. They have to send him to the Olympics as the US champ who got super high scores. But come on, we all have eyes. We all saw what Yuzu did at JNats and what Nate did at USNats. They're not playing in the same league. They're not even playing on the same planet.

Just bunch of blind haters lol
