January 10, 20224 yr Despite all the conspiracy theories I really want to mention that attempting and landing a stepped out 4A< requires hard work and deserves the respect. I also wish Yuzu will benefit from seeing someone else's attempted 4A.

I keep saying this but it def seems like Yuzu brings out the best in Nathan. The two falls in the free were unfortunate but we could def see how much more motivated he was here than at the gp. Everytime Yuzu skated well Nathan also did in his next competition. Too bad we havent had a chance to see them both skate clean at the same competition and most of the time its Yuzu who didnt perform well . Man I hope to see it at the olympic. obv they gonna give Nathan the gold but I want Yuzu to have the skate of his life!

CSSp4-->CSSp3 (SS <2 revs.) 8. 3Aq-->3A< 9. StSq4-->StSq3 (both twizzles invalid, first loop invalid) 10. Deduction -1-->-2 I rescored the FS and his technical score dropped 32.74, plus 1 more point deduction. If US Nationals mean ANYTHING he should not be sent to the Olympics. January 10, 20224 yr The whole US Nationals event was a mess. With COVID wrecking the women's event (with Mariah placing above Karen, Alysa withdrawal, and Amber meltdown) and then the men's Olympic selection "controversy". Now I don't personally mind the team they selected, it's what everybody wanted/predicted four years ago. But seeing FS Twitter I can't believe how many people are outraged at Jason being selected over Ilia. Ilia certainly had the best performance in Nationals, but apart from this competition he hasn't shown us much (it was probably a mistake to keep him in Juniors this year if he wanted to make the Olympic team). I don't agree with everyone saying is should have been Ilia over Jason, if anything, I believe they should argue it was a Vincent vs Ilia thing. Vincent melts down often and I can't believe the US wasn't looking at Vincent's bombing at worlds (twice) more closely. I also don't agree with Raf arguing the reason Ilia wasn't selected is because his parents are Russian, I hardly think that has anything to do with it. As much as I don't agree with Nationals scoring, Jason and Nathan deserved their spots. Vincent is more questionable.
