He seemed so off at 4CC and I don't want him to have to get a robo-spine. I like to think that's not why he had trouble at 4CC... anyone can get a bad back now and then, I think. I hope... his Biellman and Ina Bauer are iconic, not to mention beautiful. But if they are giving him trouble, better replace them, yes. (Although with something other than A spin would be nice... the difference between a Biellman and an A spin is... yeah.) And this reminds me... there are people giving Plushenko as an example of longevity in FS and how Yuzu could do the same. But from what I've heard (read), he's done quite some damage to his body in the process and I'd really rather Yuzu doesn't stick around long enough for that to happen (to that extent, at least). Much as I want him to keep competing for a long long time. Link to comment

In which case, maybe he was just going easy on his knee. But it's so nice he has so many position variations for his spins. Speaking of which, wonder if he has the flexibility for a layback haircutter spin? That one is more work for the back though, and if biellman's are giving him back pain already at times, maybe not a good idea? Of course, ACI is not a good indicator, and probably we'll see more changes in both programs. But Seimei now is 5 quads LP and whenever he attempted 3 quads in the second half there was no Biellmann. Idk if it was because of YOLOing. Link to comment
Sombreuil
The bielmann comes and goes depending on his condition I think - it was especially noticeable in 2014/15 season for obvious reasons. I don't think he'll go the way Plushenko did - he was one of those heavier skaters who muscled his way through the jumps - I think/hope that Ys technique and build will help him avoid that. That and TCC's sand floor ^_^ But yeah, I hope so, too. And I don't think he will get that bad, it just makes me cringe a bit whenever Plush's given as an example for longevity. Link to comment

Justice for the butt spin! It's seriously not so bad IMO. Although granted, not as beautiful as Biellman. Link to comment

Lol. For real though that spin is just so awkward. When I first saw it I was like " why??" Did it even look good when the person who created did it?? Link to comment

I saw a beautiful one once butt (trololol) I can't remember where. It was a noodly fellow, though. Nam? Boyang? Vincent? (I've run out of noodles.) It is a very rare sight. Link to comment

xeyra
There are some A spins I like but the skater usually brings their leg a bit up and wider comparatively to the versions I don't like as much (which Yuzu sadly does). But I don't hate it and sometimes it just fits? Like the combo spin at the end of LGC (especially in purple pants); the A-spin wasn't bad in there at all. Link to comment
OonsieHui
I wonder whether Yuzu will ever create a move that catches on and gets named after him. (since it doesn't look like anyone else is interested in doing that leg over head sit spin thing ) That would be so cool. Imagine future skaters doing the Yuzuru or the Hanyu. Link to comment

The angle is definitely the key factor in pulling off a not so butty butt spin. Just now, Sammie said: what a name..... Link to comment

I guess he would like to give his name to some beautiful move or element. But his trademark Biellmann and Ina Bauer have names already and 4A also. But that leg over head spin doesn't have a name? There's the side pistol pose lunge but it yet has to be named after him Link to comment
