Brian Orser: "Hanyu tested 4A, 4Lz, not so much 4F, but the decision on content for the Olympic Games has not yet been made".

Coach of the Japanese figure skater Yudzuru Khanyu Brian Orser told about his jumping over his pupil in the Olympic season.

"Yuzuru tested a quadruple lutz, a quadruple axel, but not so much a quad flip.  We have two more weeks before we decide on the layout, we need to think about what content to perform at the Olympics.

So far, nothing has been confirmed, but everything depends on Yuzuru himself.  We must approach the decision smartly and strategically, "Orser said.

After all the quad talk I spend most of the evening watching this

so they played the video clip 5 times. wondering how Yuzu felt when watching this landing 5 times.:devilYuzu:

skaters climbing to top quickly or not depends the number and the level of competitors, health, nationality/politics, fed support, ISU rules, judges' eye...

I love that WTT 4Lz, blotched landing notwhistanding:10636614:

And I love the speculation, Yuzu likes to make his fans' heads spin

Why do I feel his coaches and former coaches boarded the "let's troll the fans" train?

TBH Brian mentioning 4A is pretty shocking, but who knows what has been lost in translation. Yuzu tested 4A for what? to land it? to stabilize it? to put it in a program?). We also know jpn press likes a lot these talks about 4As and quints (blame Zuzu the Trendstter).

@micaelisI wanted to make a couple of considerations about your long post (I love long posts:tumblr_inline_nhkf04zUM41qid2nw:) but I'm going to talk a bit about jumps and rules so I thought the general skating thread was more suitable for my post. I hope it doesn't bothers you.

I leave here just this funny little fact:

Quote

Dick Button (USA) was the first skater credited with a double axel jump in competition. He performed this at the 1948 Winter Olympics, although footage of the jump shows that it may have been underrotated.

:003:

As we all know Dick Button was also the last man to win two OGMs and the first to land a ratified 3Lo:slinkaway:

But nothing close to Yuzu, who is charismatic both on and off the ice. In all my years of watching figure skating, I've never seen anything quite like him. It's why those people in the Helsinki arena were crying for him when he finished skating to Hope & Legacy.

Quoting papa Ambesi, Yuzuru has the "How can you not love him" aura around him. I mean, it's rare that FS commentators from all around the world talk about the skater on a personal level.

Maybe because it's rare that performances get to that kind of personal depth. But with Yuzuru, it's impossible not to talk about him as a whole, skater and human being, because he is whole when he skates. Something truly unique!

This season is a bit too new for a 4A, he's likely to use that as a secret weapon after they reduce the jumping passes. But yeah, it'd be more surprising if we hear news of Yuzu saying "I have a fairly stable 4 Flip now." But if he does have a 4A then, it's not too far from a 5T...I mean a 5T is about 4.5 rotations in the air, less than that even since you do pivot a bit over 90 degrees on ice....okay, I'll go now before people faint....

K. Thanks. Bye. :slinkaway:

Hi, guys!

I'm deeply sorry, I didn't mean to imitate our dear trolling overlord by promising my story about Helsinki and not telling it. :oops:I just wasn't sure anybody would be interested, so I asked my question and went to finish my university paper. Then it took me an eternity to write everything in English. But your "likes" gave me the courage to finish. Thanks!

I really wish I could paint or write poems : I would not spam everybody with my endless stories about Yuzu. But I can't. So, it will be a very long story. Actually, it's so long that when I realized it, I made a PDF to not bother you with a tremendous post. Feel free to download. But I’m warning you I have a tendency for you graphomania and my story is full of personal thought and opinions. So, to not bother yourself, you can read only a part where I finally see Yuzu’s performance – I made it in in bold. I just ask you to have mercy for a very emotional girl with poor English whose first life competition ever happened to be WC free skate in Helsinki. Besides, it’s the very precious memories I have.
