'Dilly-dally' is a fairly common English word, and my mom used it to scold me all the time when I was a kid. Whenever I was taking too long to do something and she had to wait for me, she would tell me, 'Don't  dilly-dally! We haven't got all day!'

 

'To dilly-dally'  means 'to delay' or 'to hesitate' , more or less.
