  1. Lol it's literally been his last bronze medal ever.
  2. Excuse me, isn't there going to be the Spark tv program today? Maybe more snippets of the SP?? Or I didn't understand anything? xD I am so distracted
  3. Aaah, sorry I missed 4K pages!! Happy 4K!! We are getting bigger and bigger every day c: like Nessie
  4. Wasn't it like, 4 maybe? or maybe it was Nathan who said he needed four pairs in a season...
  5. You are super right. I should exploit them as much as I can. For now, I think I don't plan to spend too much for potentially new and better skates... (unless I manage to sell my violin and buy a cheaper new one and save up some money... in that case I can have fun with you guys!)
  6. You must be strong willed to take your eyes off of those hands...
  7. Saint-Saens' original Swan is more of an international, belonging-to-no-one classical music staple. But Il Volo's version is a very specific version, skated by Yuzuru, so for me the reference is there and it would be pretty hard to deny.
  8. Yup, some people will just always behave a certain why. Especially drama queens. It's funny because Yuzuru is almost the exact opposite... he will never create drama out of nowhere because he already has enough real drama in his life.
  9. I'm loving Evgenia's bangs game! She looks sooooo cute.
  10. Which is basically the same principle that Yuzuru exploits to have that crazy 45° inclination with the ice when he does besties and SE's. No way you can do that by standing still and not fall on your ass, but use the blade well, have balance and momentum, and zac, you tricked physics!
  11. He has already practiced 4A with a harness since at least last season. Not only that, but Brian told the press that the harness guy told him he "didn't have to do much" as in, help Yuzuru jump the 4A. edit: I always come late for discussions. Why. Ps: That lace tying tho. Secsi.
  12. Forget the skaters; the most consistent person in the FS world is Jack Gallagher.
  13. Soooo yesterday I did my first skating lesson ever! Or better, there wasn't anyone for the course (like, everybody cancelled last minute) but the teacher was there, so instead of doing a group lesson, she just did a trial lesson with me. We did some basic strokings, one foot skating foward and backwards (lol I can't do the latter), straight and in a circle. We also did some hops (and she said 'don't land with your full blade, land on the tip!' so I tried but I picked at the ice and splatted LOL and she was like 'Not THAT much on the tip' lol) and some forward crossovers, which she said that they are not too bad since I learned them on my own?? I think she was probably being too kind, but still, I am a little glad. And then in the end we did some lunges and I was surprisingly able to do them?? But if I did it with my left leg forward, I would automatically turn and she was like "yeah, we will do that too in the future!" and I was like "Yeah I saw this move in skating programs... BUT I'M NOT DOING IT ON PURPOSE!". Soooo in the end it was fun and my ankles were killing me - I definitely have to learn to bend the ankles more, and skate less with my butt. I have difficulties keeping the feet close and parallel when doing zig-zag and changing edges while skating forward. Also, she said that my skates are (as I thought) very soft, so they are okay for starting, but if I try to jump with these I will break my ankles. So, I will look into buying new ones a bit later in the season, I guess. But the best thing - she said that if I am committed and I want to, I can start training for 'mock competitions' in february! and OF COURSE I want to, ohmygod! I can't wait to skate to my favourite classical musical pieces... but also not classical, ifyaknowwhatImean. (*stealing Yuzu's music*) the only problem being, the rink is VEEERY far from the city, so I definitely have to find a poor soul that lives in Rome like me, that could help me going and back... since I still don't have a driving license. But I am determined to do this, so I will find a solution. Yay!
  14. I think I could learn how to ride a bike if Yuzuru taught me. In exchange, I could teach him to play piano... *whistles*
  15. I LOOOVE this commentary and I love this performance. As intense as R&J1 in Nice for real. What a fighter.
  16. I am kinda grateful he is not a swimmer because. What technique? I cannot even go underwater without holding my nose I just flap my arms and legs until they give out! And, like, try to keep my butt afloat. Yeah probably you do way more energy requiring things than me while skating! But hey, tomorrow evening will be my first ever skating lesson, hopefully :3
  17. I feel like skating and skiing are two great alternatives to flying c: swimming is a lot harder because it's high intensity and requires a lot of resistance, I do 10 meters swimming and I'm gasping for breath for 5 minutes! But yeah I love it as well. I actually love all these 'cold' sports because they remove a huge problem for me when working out and doing sports: being HOT and SWEATY. Also yeah I agree with you with Yuzuru definitely being able to swim, it's just that maybe he doesn't have a lot of occasions because he skates and loves that and is interested in quite few things besides that (music, earphones, trolling).
  18. I don't think it can. Not if it's Yuzu's definition of 'clean'. I think there is room for your concerns, but I am just very sure about Yuzuru's capabilities as he is with himself when he says "I am going to win this". Remember how much doubt surrounded him going into the Olympics? Were you certain he was going to win then? Here it's the same thing. And he didn't win because he was lucky. He won because he skated better than anyone else by far. Because he is a competitive monster and he WON'T let other people get his medals when he really wants them.
  19. But like a lot of people have already said a lot of times, if he delivers, it's really hard for judges not to throw the book at him and sometimes they've tried (Worlds 17 FS) keeping him down and he got a WR, and sometimes they didn't keep him down (ACI 17 SP) and he got a WR. The result was the same because if Yuzuru brings his programs home, he will always be first. Also, right now he is a living legend. In the skating world, there are two categories of people: people who say he's the greatest of all time, and people who don't say it because of reasons, but they think it anyways. In any case, his PCS should and probably will always be the highest of every competition, especially right now that there is no more Javi and no more Patrick. He's the only true "total package" left, the others being young promising skaters who are trying to become like him. All of this to say: I think his destiny is in his own hands. Yes, there will be unfair judging and athletes who will be pushed and he won't. But he doesn't need pushing. He won't win all the gold medals in the world, he's lost to Chen twice and in both occasions it was by few points that could have been changed with a different kind of judging. But, for example, now that GOE's have more importance, even if right now we are seeing a mess at the JGP and the same element is getting from -2 to +4 in GOE... I truly believe that if Yuzuru jumps like he's used to jumping, it won't be long before his jumps will have +5 across the boards.
  20. I googled it too... thanks but NO THANKS
  21. I wonder. There are 3 months to GPF. He might start to train Lutz and Flip again by then, or maybe even by November. Being optimistic, his conditions should improve month by month. If they don't improve and he still feels uncomfortable... it's bad news, it would mean that it's kind of permanent. I'm sure Yuzuru's doing everything to avoid that possibility. Of course, his skating is still the best and perfect without those two jumps. But I think he would feel very frustrated and limited in his expressive freedom, and I share the feeling. When you can do something and then you can't do it anymore, it's all kinds of kuyashii. I'm sure he's resisting the temptation to go back to train Lutz and Flip every day with the utmost effort. It's probably very hard.
  22. Do you think he will ever attempt more than 4 quads? He might aspire to it but certainly this season he will go slow because of rehabilitation. He has more difficulties than the average skater to stay healthy... he has to protect his body a bit more.
  23. I am NOT gonna oppose to that... purple and liliac are two of my favourite colors so if he goes warm purple, bring it!!
  24. He cannot control it! It's just who he is. He honestly lasted more than I thought LOL
  25. No really, the air time of that first 3A is incredible, I think only a few moments less than his 4Lz at CoR.
