  1. That sounds like a very useful description of how it should feel! And true, sometimes it's confusing because for some exercises the teacher actually told me not to bend the knees!
  2. I think I'm kind of a lefty! Because I also prefer jumping clockwise. But I'm practicing spinning in both directions just because. A la Mihayara. You never know what you might need xD Also, I did my first three turn with my left foot. And my left forward crossovers are kinda better. Sooo I think there's a pattern xD
  3. Yes, it's true, I do believe I'm still not very comfortable on ice and I have to let go to the feeling more and bend more. Every time I talk about doing these things I would like to go to the rink and practice lol xD (Also today for the first time I saw what people are saying about Alina's broken back!) Ah! They told me not to look down. I should really think about it when I skate. I will try to think about it more! It does make me more rigid in the upper body... it's hard to think about every part of your body when you are concentrating on your feet so much. (What's your IG? Have I followed you? I followed a couple of people LOL)
  4. https://www.instagram.com/stories/muriel.dreams.of/ @Xen Omg sorry I think I should have published the videos not as stories but regular videos, but oh well. Beside from my big face, I shared an ever so smol basic spin and some balance exercise. Yesterday I actually felt my back was a little better, but as you can see in the balance I am totally rigid in my upper body LOL. Balance is so hard! I fought for like one whole hour together with my friend before my outside edge finally showed every so slightly. I easily do balance with inside edge, don't ask me how it's possible HAHAHA.
  5. Actually there was a confirmation from Japanese newspapers (that highlighted it in bright, burning red letters LOL) that he said "くそ!" with a fair amount of stressing of the second syllable And yes, like @LadyLou said, it was very parallel to Nathan finishing one of his SP's last year and going "fuck" right when the camera zoomed in on him Instead, I noticed that in the Japanese broadcast of Yuzu's FS, when he was in the finishing pose the camera panned out, and they chose a shot which would hide Yuzuru's cussing. Oh, prude, prude Japanese tv! LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCO LOCO LLLLLOCOOOOOOOOO (couldn't help it) Mmmh I think it will be difficult - it's the air time that will be different. You will probably feel something like "Oh my God, he is not landing!" or something. There was a similar feeling with his 4Lz, which had a delay in the first rotation and had 72 cm of height if I'm not mistaken. We were used to his 3Lz, so his 4Lz had a different rhythm (the air-time was "eternal" cit. Angelo Dolfini). Like, 3A is shu-tu-tu-tu-PA! While his 4A should be shu-tutututu-PA! Like, if you were to count the timing of the jump on a musical sheet, 3A would be 4 chromes, while his 4A would actually be an irregular tempo, a group of 5 chromes (how do you say in English? I have no idea, in Italian it's fifthies? Cinquine. Five beats in one tempo). I bet Yuzuru has noticed this tempo difference, because getting the rhythm of the jump is fundamental to nail it and getting used to it. I think Yuzuru's musical ear is one of the thing that gives him an advantage other the others. Having a tempo inside you, and being able to listen to it, is so important.
  6. I promise I will share videos then! I can't promise you won't be laughing at them tho
  7. There are 6 types of jumps. Nuff said (and no 4Flip. Not in the near future lol)
  8. *throws her cats and pizzas in the air* THE APOCALYPSE IS COMING
  9. Save yourself the trouble: he wants to jump all the quads. All of them. It's only a matter of when is he going to pull it off.
  10. Yes, I think it will take me some time to become aware of it and correct it every second... I think I am terrified of bad technique not going away because I've had similar issues with the violin (bad habits I could never correct) xP Mmmh maybe it's more like connecting your whole body... in my course there are women you wouldn't really consider fit, but they have waaay better posture than me!
  11. Yes, my butt likes to stick out, I can't help my bending forward especially when I try jumps (two footed). I do feel a kind of floppyness to my upper body. I wonder what I could do to assure that I am using my abs and I am as stable as a rectangle.
  12. She's a sweetheart, but she didn't tell me a lot for now (just that I'm almost folded in two xD). She definitely tells me multiple times to bend my ankles and knees more (yesterday one of the coaches asked me if I tied my boots too tightly on the akles, but no, I just didn't bend voluntarily!) Yeah, maybe I will send a video soon! Like an SOS for help, lol.
  13. I actually fell doing Balance, lol! But yeah I will definitely buy them before going back to practice. Also, could you suggest how I can really really stop my back from going all the way forward? the back is straight, I'm not curved - but when I do pretty much everything on Ice I tend to go down with my back. Is it because I don't put enough weight on my knees/ankles?
  14. Omg I really have to buy knee protection. I am doing holes in the ice with my bones.
  15. Thiiiiiiis. Holy shit. THIIIIS. Yuzuru is used to having cameras splatted all over his face. I'm sure he wouldn't mind having a human conversation, while being treated humanly. On the contrary, it's something else being stopped by a stranger and being told "Oh my god, can I take a picture?" Like you are an object. One other thing is taking a photo after you've had a nice exchange. Which is what happened to me with Lambiel and Deniss at Worlds. I'm not against asking for pictures (I asked a fair share myself), it's the way you do it, and the timing, and the sensitivity you show. A conversation, in any case, will always be worth ten times more. Or even just a glance. (Kolyada giving me the Ci, can we talk about that?? INSTANTLY STANNED.) I guess there are different sorts of things you can ask to a person you admire, and it's always legit to approach in a polite way. I don't think that "right to privacy" means "should never be approached". For me, "right to privacy" means "Do not take for granted that you are owed anything by this person only because you admire them".
  16. I really am not sure if I should be proud of this, but I am the same as him when I listen to music with earphones on the street, and people look at me like 'wtf's your problem' LOL But it's really just an improvement from when I was 13-14 and I actually sang everything out loud. On the streets, or busses. That was. Well. Uh. My life.
  17. Completely agreed. There's nothing wrong if fans all around end up knowing that Yuzuru is afraid of them. It would be actually pretty surprising for them not to have assumed it already. (but I guess we are talking about people who, speaking generally and vaguely, have some mental issue of sorts. Because you don't chase someone down you don't know personally unless you lost some kind of touch with reality lol.)
  18. I guess this is extremely personal and subjective as usual, but I think asking a person something and talking to them is polite, because the person is always free to say 'no', to not reply, to say 'it's confidential' and so on. No one forced Ghislain to say something he didn't want to say, and it's not intrinsecally wrong to share a conversation on the intenet (we are talking about innocent info, not like 'oh Ghislain told me about Yuzuru's weird Pooh fetish the other day' - sorry for bad humoring ). What IS intrinsecally wrong and NOT polite, is imposing yourself - insistingly ask a person something and not noticing if that person doesn't want to answer; chasing an athlete who is walking the other way, chasing a car, screaming to a skater while other skaters are on the ice, screaming so strongly that you can actually end up distracting an athlete and hurting them in general. Everybody has their own degree of privacy, so some actions may be seen to be a bit 'too much' by some, but I think we can all agree that the things to avoid are the things which are UNIVERSALLY agreed to be violent and disturbing. To me, having a conversation is not one of those things.
  19. There were some crazy screaming that really left me wondering at ACI this year. It's okay to feel enthusiast and scream together with everyone, but it's not a competition about who's the loudest or the craziest. I'm sure Yuzuru has felt the cringe multiple times in his carreer. And wheb he shushed the fans, you could see by his face he was seriously pissed. I have no justifications whatsoever for people chasing him and obsessing to the point where they forget he is human. Because it's thanks to them that Yuzuru will probably never be able to quietly have a conversation with his fans. At Worlds 2017 there was an Italian lady, maybe 40 years old, screaming from the tribune, during the victory ceremony, in Italian (so completely delusional) "Yuzu, turn around, look here, my love! I love you!" I would gladly send all of those fans outside the rink and away. By force. I think we have no idea how bad and how stressful and how crazy it can get for Yuzu to cope with that.
  20. I'm craving for that 1st place for him so much. Can't wait for GP season.
  21. Is your coach Eteri? I tried. It didn't work out. (Determined to learn IB and SE tho. I have enough hip opening. I just have no idea what an edge is really!)
  22. I hope so, I am a jumping machine off-ice. The other day I put a big chair in the middle of the terrace and spent 10 minutes jumping across it for increasing leg power, making my mother get heart attacks I am not afraid of falling. But the spins... might require more effort cause of my posture xD
  23. His voice is soooo soothing to listen to... I wish they could make him catch a breath though!
  24. Yuzuru should be proud of us - we are following his teachings about quality being important. Honestly my favourites were the bodyguard lifting Yuzu fanarts popping up in a second, and Briand thinking that bleeding Yuzuru was part of the costume in CoC. I just can't, I choke up laughing just thinking about it
