I have practice at the ol' sd card switcharoo (take out the card with pics on, put in a blank card thats maybe got some oldies on it so if security take the camera and wipe the card you still got your pics) but yeah tbh in my experience if a lot of people are doing it anyone supposed to be stopping it just sort of gives up. eta: oooh that time scedule for the practice is as i'm leaving work. sweet.

ISU banning fancams doesn't mean anything lmao the amount of times I've had my huge ass dslr in places where there was a 'no photography' rule and still got pictures..... Chinese and Japanese fans (and Korean fans cuz I know at least one is going) will get fancams or photos if they really want them. Welcome to Asian fandom, ISU. I could rant about how totally dumb and pointless I think a blanket ban on photos/fancams is but lets not go there, but it aint the way to promote your sport, ISU. Just like having no official stream isn't helpful either.... if push comes to shove i might get some spy glasses and record just to spite them

I have discovered the beer i bought is non alcoholic. which. i guess is good for my liver but beer is yucky who would drink for the taste?? is there a schedule for practices and any news if they are open or not? i'm not expecting a stream but a fancam to look forward to would be great...

I've stocked up on beer to get me through friday and saturday night lmao I'm glad he looks happy and relaxed though. Whatever the result I just hope he has a good time. I mean. It's just warm up for NHK
-
oh wait nvm i remember that. when he was being stroppy cuz he didn't win a dance-off or something.
-
eh he's always had a vest on? surely? if not feel free to drop some pics/links (unless he was like 16 cuz no thanks. why'd he do vertigo and hello i love you while he was a tiny baby) I don't think he's ever full out rocked out shirtless? and theres always a difference between performing and not theres a cute video of a kpop idol doing his thing on stage then backstage he's running to the dressing room giggling trying to cover himself up lol i support him branching out on showing his sexy side if thats what he wants to do god knows i enjoyed tf out of LGC and his faoi shenanigans I just don't see him doing anything like that for a CM or photoshoot, only a performance. feel free to prove me wrong tho yuzu like i wont mind at all
-
lmao that fanart is so correct but I feel like the 'expectation' panel would be so OOC for Yuzu my brain wouldn't know how to process it. Though who knows maybe with his ever-growing muscle mass he'll feel the urge to show it off lmao i can't picture him having any kind of ~sexy~ men's health kind of photoshoot without also picturing him dying of embarrassment
-
And unflattering lighting
-
honestly when he smiled in the middle i thought i was going to die
-
What rumour? like a recent one?

same~ I really hope Yuzu will win over Nathan but really a silver would not be the end of the world so i'm kind of relaxed about it XD I don't really think Yuzu will bomb but i'm not expecting flawless performances either. If we see 4lz I hope he can land it even if it's a Javi-save type landing
-
ehhh i dunno. at the time Brian took Yuzu on he didn't have a particularly abnormal following. He was still a baby star on the rise with a lot of potential, but he wasn't even the most popular Japanese man in the field... Brian likely saw his potential, I think I read somewhere he was reminded of Yuna at lot when taking on Yuzu so wanted to be cautious, so maybe he knew Yuzu was destined to be hugely popular after a while, but I don't think anyone could really predict just how many fans Yuzu would go on to attract, because even if seems kind of natiral he would become so popular given what a complete package he is as a skater but also as a public figure. I think Brian has the gift of experience on his side. He had Yuna, who is still extremely beloved in Korea. He had his own skating career... He seems to be pretty mindful of helping with the psychological pressure of the sport which i think is part of how Javi just blossomed under him. But god, it must be really hard to have Yuzu and Javi seeing how popular and successful both of them are.

I do think American skating fans in particular got a little bit excited to see Nathan's programs were an improvement choreographically and that the music choices will give possibly be easier for Nathan to skate with some character (his programs last year were lacking in personality, for me at least) which is natural (I would get very excited if suddenly a British skater was showing podium potential) but there is a bit of hyperbole going around Boyang's heart is certainly in the right place but Finlandia wasn't his best effort. He mentioned not really being 'fired up' there (kinda like how Yuzu was not 'fired up' for ACI FS lol). His seemingly strong desire to improve his PCS and be a more balanced skater means he has a lot of potential in the future. Next olympics should be fun if Boyang and Shoma are still fighting it out then. Esp if Shoma improves his jumps at all... But I am also not totally sold on Boyang's programs yet. Of the 3, Nathan has maybe done a better job at really selling his programs to the audience. Shoma shows potential for Winter but I'm real meh about Turandot 2.0 (though he is probably taking best dressed this year unless Yuzu comes hard with 2 new costumes at COR, Shoma's FS outfit is beautiful and his winter is...nice. would have more impact if it wasn't a desaturated Loco - but he got those grey velvet pants of sin going on). I am pretty worried about the pressure possibly getting to Shoma. He seems to be flipping between talking down the Olympics as not being a particular goal for him, he just wants to skate well there, to coming across a bit more ambitious. I would absolutely hate for him to have a Worlds 2016/Nationals moment and cry at the Olympics. Of course things always get tweaked (though its a shame when pretty things get left behind. Small tear for backwards crossrolls) also....see above lol I also think I need to marinate a little more in Seimei the Sequel to get a feel for how it's changed and grown since the first installment. I don;t particularly think it needs to be clean, ACI you could tell his brain was somewhere else and he wasn't in the performance, I have favourite performances for almost every yuzu program and quite a lot of them have at least one fall in them lol I just need to see Seimei 2 - The Revenge performed while Yuzu is mentally present.

I'm with you on that. the reputation scoring in PCS especially is a mess and it wouldn't be a bad idea for Nathan's team to try to milk that by raising his PCS early in the season then taking out a bunch of transitions to make way for quads later knowing his pcs won;t drop much and possibly continue to rise. but sure ISU, ignore how shitty PCS scoring is and f*ck with BVs instead...

IA about Nathan. It's no good telling me he deserves the points in PCS because he's balletic if he's not actually delivering whats outlined in the categories. IIRC his ballet past wasn't even long enough to be particularly significant? I think his programs this season are better than last season and I think he's well in the race for podium but I'd sooner see Javi, Shoma or Boyang up there next to Yuzu and only really see Javi maybe Shoma as potentially getting gold if by some horrible twist of fate Yuzu bombs (*touches all the wood touch I have complete faith in yuzu*). Shoma has areas of PCS he's good at, and others that still have room to grow but he's trying (even if his tech execution is meh and his fs is a bit of a letdown...) and Boyang has shown he's putting sooo much effort into improving his PCs. Nathan's programs are an improvement but I really anticipate a lot being lost from the fs when he adds his 5-6 quads he's thinking of adding which is understandable but a shame. And compared to Boyang and Shoma he really doesn't seem to care much about improving his artistry which is also understandable considering his PCS shoots up so long as he lands his quads. Same reason Shoma isn't rushing to improve his execution and letting his artistic development sit on the back burner; instead focusing on getting what he can do stable and consistent. tbh tho the only people i super care about making podium are Yuzu and Javi. I'd love for them to 1-2. Third can go to anyone. I love Shoma so kinda root for him but if we're talking who has the better programs as of right now it's more between Boyang and Nathan. I'd kinda love for Boyang to get it just because he gets sort of ignored when it comes to hyping the top men.

Oh I don't really expect any massive changes...i'm just a bit...meh

I think part of what throws me is the colours? Seimei 1 was more warm toned throughout - the white was more a cream, the gold belt was darker, the purple accents was warmer and richer. I think the crisp white, the more neutral and brighter purple accent and the brighter green accent is just a whole load of 'i don't like' in my head. I think I was geared up for different colour accents. A purer white would look better with cool-toned colour accents like turquoise and teal (imo?) though I think red accents would also go nicely with a crisp white esp if the belt is still gold...Seimei 1 had a fairly nice colour relationship (neutral-to-warm base purple with a complimentary green and the cream and gold) and this is stark white (which can read cold) a purple (which is kinda warm) and a harsh green (cold) hjghfhfyjguhhjhfgd If it doesn't change I'll get over it. I don;t hate it I just don;t find it as pleasing as 1 and I think it's a shame if he doesnt have the best costume for the program at olympics, or a costume on par. the thin-ness and the brighter colours looks cheap to me T-T i'm sorry. IT'S PRETTY my brain is just like 'oh' at it though. I guess it depends on when the green screen fluff was filmed and if he would even debut a new outfit for a promotional fluff filming or save it for a competition. I seem to have NHK as the deadline for everything. If nothing is changed by NHK then its set in stone.

ngggh i'm not gonna lose hope just yet it's nice but imo its too much like seimei 1.0 but i like seimei 1 more -_- this one looks a bit too plain and still looks unfinished to me -_- i guess we'll see. it's nice, it's pretty much its a little disappointing....

I will get the good old fangirl camera glasses for fancamming if need be (honestly tho good luck stopping chinese and japanese fans from getting fancams and photos)
-
I guess that's all he needs XD That's still like 2 hours a day... I wonder if that includes off-ice training. because his off-ice has def increased, as shown by his muscle mass...

Oh, if we're talking the 2015 scores being beat then, sure, that'll happen. but I think the combined total is less likely or will be beat by yuzu first, the ACI Sp score is...probably going to be a very short WR since the 4S wasn't even supposed to be there, i'd be real surprised if yuzu hasnt reset it by even a small margin by gpf, and H&L's WR is...eh. I see Yuzu beating it before anyone else does

I'm not particularly worried about Nathan, if Yuzu has a good season and at the least drops his popping habit, he's fine. I see areas for improvement in the performance of both of Nathan's programs, that we might get in the SP but tbh when he starts adding a ridiculous amount of quads to his FS we're just not going to get. And he's not going to get high GOE on all of those elements. Yuzuru is aiming for +3s on everything and can say that's his aim without it seeming totally ridiculous. Nathan isn't there yet (and Shoma has basically said he's just aiming to get the full BV on his stuff and not really overly concerning himself with execution. tbh i wouldn't be surprised if Nathan's thinking is similar - just get the rotations and get it landed, judges will give you candies in the pcs and maybe the goe anyway just for landing a lot of quads so...) I don;t think anyone else will be breaking yuzuru's records without either having significantly higher BV or somehow delivering a performance at that level. I just don;t see how judges could justify giving nathan's sp more than 112 even if he landed everything without him somehow rapidly improving his performance by a really, really large degree. If Yuzu starts having a hard season, sure I'll worry, but if the whole men's field manages to not pop or splat in both programs Yuzuru wins because his average execution is better. I'm more worried about the sQuad keeping Javi off podium ;; but Javi's got his season off to a pretty good start so....

Ah see I cracked up when I heard the American cm calling in pan-teen. Pan-ten is how it's said in the UK/europe too
