  1. He's motivating me to save £3600 for a new camera body......... (it will be my birthday gift to myself right in time for Pyeongchang hehehehe)
  2. I literally die every time I am gonna die at this all season
  3. This is so cute! Hahaha Chinese fans (?) (the song is chinese so I assume) are always so much fun I love them hahaha
  4. Also the right f stop hahaha. If you want nice portrait pics for the love of god don't have your f number higher than...3 (for that pic i'll stab a guess at around f1.8 or lower). They also seemed to have made the focal area around the eyes which is also an A+ move because then you get a bit of skin softening from that shallow ass depth of field, which how to be a face friendly photographer if you don't have access to super soft/flattering lighting.
  5. He is Harry Mattick and his free skate is to The Nightmare Before Christmas. For what he lacks in jump stability he makes up for in hamming it the f up.
  6. Oh definitely. Shoma has said many times he wants to bring his skating to a level where people can't be sure who would win between him and Yuzuru and is forever saying he's not there yet, because he recognises Yuzuru as the best. It might sound kind of aggressive but it's purely out of reverence.
  7. Angry seaweed has to be the best ranking lmaooo
  8. Some might. I think Seollal (lunar new year) usually has more hanbok wearing than Chuseok.
  9. Chuseok is kinda like a harvest festival and lasts like 3 days. I don't do anything for it and just enjoy the time of work (a whole week this year!) but Korean families usually visit relatives and have big fancy family meals and pay respects to elders and ancestors (by doing rites like cleaning grave sites and stuff) and like giving thanks for the harvest. I assume the other festivals are similar but with slightly different customs.
  10. m(___ ___)m Sorry~ It's Autumn Festival! Is there a Japanese holiday around the Autumn equinox too? (here is Chuseok, I know in China it's Mid-Autumn festival with moon cakes, does Japan celebrate their own version too?)
  11. Oh hes so fluffy when will his army service end~~~~~~~~~~
  12. Eh in Kpop quite a few skate by with so-so vocals but every group tends to have at least one or two 'good' singers and then a couple that are maybe not-so-great but passable. But yeah I couldn't get in to Japanese idols because they just...don't...sound...good to me and whenever i hear a japanese song i tend to be rather underwhelmed by the singers. There's only...one Japanese singer I enjoy enough to have listened to for a long time but, um, well. It's dir en grey. Not everyone's cup of tea. Kyuhyun is a standout talent in Kpop but there's quite a lot of really good quality singers in Kpop. I mean there's 3/4 others in his group alone and thats a group generally considered vocally fairly weak overall. Kpop groups tend to have a vocal or two, a rapper (of questionable quality), a dancer and a visual. And then maybe a member that is good at variety who is either kind of middle of the road at everything else lol. but the korean public really rains fire on any idol that outright can't sing.
  13. Or A Million Pieces I would completely die. I can still sing along to At Gwanghwamun though hahaha Kyuhyun's angel voice with Yuzu's angel skating would be heaven
  14. I.........don't really like a lot of Japanese singers for this reason tbh a lot of Japanese singers sound kinda..flat to me lol but i have somewhat high standards when it comes to pop singers lol oh lordy what i would give to have Yuzu skate to something Kyuhyun sang ;A; Kyuhyun also has a bit of a tragic backstory only to rise to be like...the best so they go together nicely lol (while i'm promoting my boy...hes nice singing ballads but when he's doing musicals, wow.)
  15. I don't think that's his voice. It sounds like the older man holding the microphone closer to the piano (it sounds a bit too deep to be yuzu tbh). I think Yuzu probably blended in with the chorus tbh
  16. Well, kinda like how I don't think Japanese has the 'ng' sound, Korean just straight up doesn't have a 'z'. They could maybe get a little closer if it was koreanised 유쯔루 but that...looks....weird lmao Yeah pronunciation in standard Japanese seems a little...clearer/cleaner than Korean that often has sounds that blend together or unvoiced parts... I don;t find Korean particularly hard but i think my pronunciation is still a bit...iffy
  17. Yeah grammatically Korean and Japanese is really similar (though i don't know if Japanese is as...hm...rigid with various levels of formality depending on situation/who you are talking to/who you are talking about/age-based social hierarchy) because they are both SOV and there some vocab that might overlap (but I think there's more with Chinese) but pronunciation can be a bit.... Japanese diction is quite different and Yuzu seemed to struggle with the nasal sounds...
  18. 준환아~ 화이팅! that would be really cute ;A; Yuzu would be a good 형 haha
  19. I wonder if he did try Korean food... Does he like spicy food? I thought he was kind of picky and wouldn't like really spicy things... (Samgyetang aka Ginseng chicken soup would be good for him though! all that ginseng energy! and it's got lots of healthy ingredients haha)
  20. The best part for me is in the caption they transliterated his cute pronunciation and I want to die. A little bit of this at Pyeongchang and Yuzu will have the Korean audience's hearts haha
  21. Skating: 10 Personality: 9.5 (tho can get 10 now he's looking after himself better ;;) Looks: Solid 9 (no one is perfect. needs a hairstyle lol) His cute face piqued my interest, his skating gave me a reason to stan and made me interested in the sport, his personality is the thing that makes it impossible to ever escape loving him to pieces.
  22. haha i kinda went in the opposite order. i was watching sochi with my family and his little face popped up and I thought 'aw he's cute' and then he skated and i was like 'wow i'm a fan'. mostly because PW totally broke my preconceived notion that FS was just (boring) classical music in the background while skaters did whatever. tbh watching Yuzu was the first time i got a sense that what he was skating actually connected to the music and expressed the music. i hate any program where the music just seems...there arbitrarily or the interpretation seems overly forced. Yuzu never seems to skate like he's just going through the motions and checking off a list of elements he has to do.
  23. It also just makes no sense to me because I got the vibe that Yuzu sort of...set a good example (cheering for other skaters/good sportsmanship) and his fans kinda follow that. obviously there will be some exceptions but considering there were times yuzu came out to skate and was met with nothing, no cheering, barely any polite applause and now generally crowds applaud and cheer/encourage every skater I donlt get where these kinds of accusations come from. At 4CC i'd say a majority of the crowd was there for Hanyu but the stands were pretty much full from beginning to end and every single skater was greeted by the crowd. Yuzuru is very cute, yes, it makes him very marketable but he is popular first and foremost because of his skating. People dont invest time in someone if they don't enjoy what they do just because they are pretty. I was interested in him because I liked the way he skated, not because he's cute. But...I guess Yuzu has a big female following, so of course other *cough MALE cough) skating fans will discredit that as being nothing more than shallowness and go on to discredit Yuzu's value as a great skater. blagh. i dont doubt yuzu being pretty helps popularity among say the general public but they arent the people buying tickets and travelling to see him compete.
  24. I wonder if he might develop some chill but I kinda am in the same club. I think he'll stick around to do a little playing around with different types of music/different styles. you know. since his catalogue of programs is a bit. small.
  25. hahaha I was a SJ fan for a while. I know Henry fans (and Leeteuk??) sponsored sections of forest around Seoul and some Zhou Mi fans donated to a charity that gave children with cleft pallets free surgeries (which was cute). A school would be super nice too though! hahaha I just generally like any fanclub birthday projects that a charity based. They might do it to make their idol look good but at least other people benefit from it. Considering the other main popular trend is just taking out advertisements on public spaces (which is stupid expensive but also real pointless) charity projects are wayyyyyy better.
