lol it's like the first pancake... i mean. Yeah. IA. But. This made me feel strange.

He did a 3lo in practice. maybe the poster misunderstood that yuzu should be avoiding the loop entirely not just the 4lo

(It was the gangnam summer festival a year or two ago when exo were performing. I wasn't even there for exo I was very annoyed at their fans lol) I've done the kpop fansite thing hahaha I am very, very, very used to waiting around which is about 80% of fangirling is waiting like 2 hours to see oppa for like 2 minutes hahahaha I have a high tolerance for waiting around so long as I get some pretty photos or a good view

I can't judge anyone for overnighting anywhere *remembers the time I spent 3 days in a car park for an idol festival (it was free entry lol) and the sheer amount of times i have overnighted at airports for photos...* good luck to them all lmao. Me and my room mate know all about that fangirl life.

awwwwwwwww you're so cute I'm glad you got to let Brian know just how much he is appreciated for all the hard work he does. It must be nice for both Tracy and Brian to see Yuzu is loved from all over the world and that the people who love him are thankful for the care and work they put in to making sure he's at his best. They both seem so lovely I don't know what I'd do in that situation aside from probably the same thing - tell them how much I respect what they do for their skaters.

LGC is a bit like... David Bowie in the Labyrinth. It's GREAT and the performance is on point and the casting is perfect and it's entertaining but it's really hard to get your eyeballs to behave. Anyway i have chosen to maybe nap, get up at 1:20am for the practice, nap again and get up at 8:40 for the SP XDDD

yeah but the triple is a placeholder...so....

lmao i woke up, watched, saw the lutz and just laughed. i knew he was gonna do a lutz. what a troll.

The specific categories are on the side with the ㅍㅊ engraving ^^ I think the front of the medals are a little plain and could've captured Korea's beauty more buuut I mostly like Korea for the bright, bold colours of the city/that are usually seen in hanbok and areas where you have old buildings surrounded by modern buildings like the palaces. or the way Seoul is surrounded by mountains etc. But focusing on hangul makes sense as a way of giving a kind of unique touch to the medals and reflecting Korea since hangul is seen as an achievement for Korean people and is a point of pride (since it was invented to be simple and to basically end illiteracy in Korea and liberate people across social classes increasing social mobility etc. when before they had a difficult system of trying to force chinese characters to fit) I do wish the found a way to make the ribbon maybe look like a hanbok ribbon at the point it meets the medal though? that would've looked cute. and its such a distinctive part of hanbok.... As for Yuzu's knee... I trust that he's keeping his thoughts on the bigger picture and is keeping his focus on overall this season avoiding, as much as he can, getting sick or getting any major injuries. He will want to be in the best condition he can be in December/February. I trust he was quick to tell Brian about any issues he was having and is dealing with it. Being at the tail end of a recovery from a small injury at ACI is fine. I am choosing as of right now to trust when they say it's not a big problem though I guess only time will tell if they are just downplaying it.
-
This. I'm choosing to believe Brian when he says it's nothing serious. Yuzuru isn't taking any chances and has learned his lesson to immediately check out and deal with/accommodate for any pains/tiny injuries instead of ignoring them and letting them grow into a serious problem.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how EXTRA ballade 3.0 and seimei 2.0 step sequences are lmao.

I found the SP scoring to be way more questionable than his FS scoring but the GOE on his 4F maybe could've been lower and tbh mostly his composition/interpretation/performance scores maybe should've been a touch lower since he is get to really settle into the choreo and better marry the movements/elements to the music. Think about how good he was at giving the feeling of a character to loco by the end of the season, he's not there with his sp or fs yet (and really who expects him to be at the first comp of the season). As cute as him grinning through the program was it wasn't exactly in character for the music hahaha and I know he can refine his expression of the music better. I would maybe have his SP around no more than 99~100 highest, and his FS around 206? maybe? give or take a few fractions of points? It's not like he did terribly but PCS was a few points too generous and some of the GOE was a bit fluffed. 92 for PCS in the FS is a bit much, I think 88/89 would've been more reasonable and 42/43 for the SP would've been just a bit less head scratching. There were a few jumps that maybe needed a -2 or -1 that didn't get that. And really I think it does a disservice to Shoma to throw extra points his way. He grew a lot last season and it does show now but he's not at the level he was at with his programs now as he was at the end of last season so it's kinda weird for him to be getting pcs scores so close/identical to the pcs he was getting at words for performances that were him at his best so far. I doubt hr's going to take it easy and think he's fine how he so so long as he doesn't fall on anything but Lombasrdia's scores kinda give that message.

Have a good flight! becoming a fan of someone like Yuzu is great because it can encourage you in even small ways. My first big fandom thing encouraged me to Move to Korea and pursue a teaching career while still keeping photography as a hobby. So far being a Yuzu fan has made me feel better about leaving Korea and encouraged me to be a bit more grown up and sort out my finances XDDD

I think he's capable of branching out he just went very safe. tbh I wouldn't have minded him keeping Loco but I really wish he hadn't gone back to Turandot. Other than so many others doing the same music it's just super uninteresting outside the jumps, the stsq (i guess) and the cantilever being held longer than his loco cantilever. It might grow on me as he builds on his performance of it but I've been meh about it since he announced it. I find it a little off his TR score was a fraction higher than Jason's, but Jason had no quads so i guess than means he was doomed to get boned in PCS.

Shoma did 4lo, 4s, 3a3t // 4F, 4t2t, 4tm 3a-lo-3f, 3s TES: 122 PCS: 92.10 = 214.97 Total of 319.84 lmao the scoring here is wild. There was a step-out of the 4lo and, like with the SP, theres room to grow in choreography/interpretation but there's moments I liked. TBH I find his FS boring and flat as of right now and wish he had gone with something else.

Yuzu just needs to focus on himself lol If Yuzu is on top form and his goal to have consistent quality comes to fruition that fight for silver is going to be brutal tho

i'm calm and I'm not attacking you?? just pointing out its a bit too early to start a discussion criticisng something that hasnt happened yet. Maybe don't be so defensive over something you didn't personally post? His 4s maybe isn't stablised yet. Landings are still mostly dodgy and maybe a little under-rotated but it's still a better option than the lz.

Fine. But remember the rules, yeah? Criticism is fine so long as it's constructive, and even criticism attempting to fit what is outlined as acceptable becomes too much when it's excessively repetitive. Right now complaining about an over-scored 4lz e is excessive since it's just speculation. He's not skated the FS yet. Maybe he'll try it here and lose it elsewhere. I personally don't think he will add the 4lz because that's not the jump he's been showing in practices.

Oh, I'm not giving the judges the benefit of the doubt at all. Shoma's score, along with pm everyone else competing, is going to be ridiculous and riddled with questionable decisions. I mean. Look at what they handed to Alina. I'm going to continue to mostly ignore you when it comes to Shoma's jumps but he's not even skated yet. Maybe cool it until he has.

And, yeah, IA the judging has been a joke and I don't expect it to improve in this competition. Maybe you should be clearer with your words. But, anyway. Shoma hasn't been seen practising a 4lz since Chicago. He has been seen practising his 4S. It's more likely he will add a 4S. Maybe wait to see what his FS layout is before getting worked up over edge calls he hasn't been let off for yet. Oh, yeah I think the 4lz would be an awful choice for him. He'd just end up fighting with it all season not to mention all the negative attention he'd get for it, look at what he already gets for just trying it. It's not worth it, especially because he can't bank on every tech panel to be as lax as Lombardia. US Classic judging seems really sensible in comparison to Lombardia.

You could wait to see what he actually does before suggesting his 4lz is the death of the sport and the fed is covering his ass. Anyway, I hope Shoma goes with the 4s not the 4lz seeing how the only example we've seen had glaring flaws. I have no hope for Lombardia judging to be sensible or whatever but they've certainly set a precedent of wanky judging.

If not Boston then definitely Helsinki really solidified that they need as many hands on deck as possible to be there for their skaters.

IDK Shoma seems pretty aware of his weaknesses and is constantly saying he needs to improve and often sells himself short. I mean it definitely does suck but rather than him getting complacent I worry he's gonna lose all trust in any compliments he receives tbh. He usually would, idk, react to a score like that but he was pretty nonresponsive when it came in. I imagine it's super frustrating to have a performance in September that you know wasn't your best outscoring what was a high point in your career so far at the end of the season that you had been, rightfully, very happy with. but yeah the dodgy judging is bad for the sport and bad for the skaters. Why work on PCS when you know you're gonna get 9s anyway if you bump your tech? Why both with SS and TR when they'll get a good score just for having high tech and reasonably good, idk, interpretation? I mean, luckily skaters are athletes and are the types of people who always push to be better but of course its hard to care about components when the judging is arbitrary, or even technique when the judges are easily wowed by attempts barely landed. (not that Shoma isnt working on his jumps. he is)
