  1. more aggressively pushing for Change EX 2014 @sallycinnamon if we'll watch WC17 SP, is it possible to watch this? it's the greek versions with subs, we could disable the subs so most people won't understand the commentary (sorry grek satellites). I'd rather avoid any commentary becuase it does change a bit how I view a program, but there are no no.commentary vids for that performance (tho still, thanks kaeryth). I swear there was a version with ITAEsp, tho, I'll search in ElenaC's DM channel, if it's still up (can't remeber if it was live or recap). Well, I'll still understand what they say but maybe most people won't... ETA: found it, it's the highlighs but whole performance, only not the live commentary (I've never found that one) @kaeryth if you want to add WC17 SP from ITAEsp, tho quality isn't the highest (OT @Kaeryth I've also found RAI commentary of COR18 SP and FS, I haven't watched the FS commentary so no idea about what they say, but it looks like they knew about the injury) Also, here two fancams of Helsinki HYK 1 and 2 and COR SP and I was wrong, no COR FS on language of skate channel but this is quite good and very hd (sparkly costume!), or this (a bit more up close but a bit worse lighting, both are opposite to the judges). OWG18 gala if you need them.* I'm also very fond of a fancam of ACI SP but I guess we have enough programs to watch from this season already... as for CiONTU, most videos were on LorandoMuffin's old channel I can't find the CWW day 2 on YT, and I've only found the MI/PW in etude costume as side by side comparisons with older performances I could cut the performances from my own downloaded videos, but where can I put the cut so we can watch it? aw thanks @sweetwater bb cowboy Zu is a must. also, bb mushroom from russia with love? Firebird? *ETA: I'm really worried that that lovely channel will be the next hit by the YT purge... ISU is hitting fancams now too...I have a massive folder of fancams but there are so many out there I haven't still downloaded, so many I don't even know exist yet, and it really breaks my heart also, is ISU stalkering fans accounts and forums to know where to hit? should we use coded names? private sharing? What even is this?
  2. I saw this mentioned on twitter and it made me pissed because why the heck would you ruin the mood right before Yuzu's bday? So I'm doing my best not to get too pissed. almost So, google tells me it's already the 7th of December in Sendai! idk where Yuzu is at the moment, but still: HAPPY BIRTHDAY YUZURU! May you have many reasons to smile and laugh, a healthy body and warmth and love all around you! many hugs from your Planet Also, thanks mods for the birthday theme!!!!! Watching all those costumes, all those little pieces of Yuzu's journey, I feel so proud
  3. All three program in Etude costume thanks Eta: sorry for double post, I thought it would merge, why am I so slow? ETA again Sing sing sing (EX) Probably NDP from Worlds too, it was another hard-fought skate for Yuzu... And his very first WR too Also, can we add one fan video? Like e.g. Never give up on your dreams, something that narrates Yuzuru'd life and views
  4. trying to sneak in that Change ex from 2014 ok thanks... for now I'd propose for 2016-17 to go with both SP and FS from Helsinki. I usually prefer to watch the gpf sp but I think it would be more meaningful to go through the whole worlds17 experience. Also, I project a lot of my own sadness for the invalid combo and I feel I don't appreciate that performance as it really deserves, so maybe watching it together for Yuzu's birthday will make me forget the sadness for last season I'd go with the whole holy combo of OWG programs For this season COR Otonal I guess...I'd also go for COR Origin tbh but I understand not everyone wants to watch it... and Helsinki HYK 'cause it's the only one in gala (sob). Maybe we can use that HQ fancam tho? (I will fine it) Actually, maybe we can use Language of skate COR SP and FS fancams and maybe OWG gala too to watch something different, instead of usual TV footage? for 2015-16 I'd go for NHK Seimei because it was the first and then Boston gala. Maybe if there are more videos from the other season we can skip Ballade 2.0 (or maybe we can go for the Boston one) to stay on theme of watching Yuzu's story unfold I'd also like GPF14 SP for its meaning after that tough gp season and the NHK 14 EX. Hana Ni Nare can we have White Legend as SP, not EX? I think it was the jnats one that I've seen that made me go whoa at his jumps and the way he moved he was so young... of course RJ1 and PW... ok kinda stopping with the list for now
  5. happy for the new upcoming streaming party! I've missed them so much well especially since we've entered unplanned drought season again So, which videos are we going watch? A couple videos per season from bb Zu to current Zu? Only comp or ex too? But most important...will the videos be still up on YT for the streaming party? also, I need to dig out my rabbit credentials LOL
  6. Thank you Hydro for collecting the messages and thank you to every kind satellite who will take the time to hand-write them sorry I am not making things easy with the lenght tho posting now before I change idea again, I've been rewriting and switching pieces and delaying entirely too much already To Yuzuru: Happy birthday Yuzuru! Thank you for your skating and for your spirit! I believe this verse from Tennyson’s “Ulysses” belongs to you: “To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.” Keep doing what makes you happy, and remember that you aren’t alone. Always remember you are loved. I wish you many many days filled with laughters and wonders! Luisa - Italy To Evgenia: Dear Evgenia, I admire your vibrant character, and it makes your skating shine. Please keep doing what you love, what you believe is right for yourself. This fan here will be supporting you all the way. Go, Evgenia! Luisa - Italy
  7. so, this is quite sudden but I was rewatching Yuzu Spirit of Athletes documentary from post SA2012 (x) let's hope the channel will be spared from the current purge and well, I already knew at some point in the doc they showed Yuzu training alone in Sendai ice rink and that he kinda hurt himself, but watching him limping away with a sprained right ankle was still so painful I had to stop the video what can I do to give Yuzu my ankles? (tho they aren't that good, I randomly lose balance without reason ) sorry I didn't want to bring back the gloom and doom but the feels hit me hard (well, I've also started his second bio so the feels are doubled) Also, he's really come so far... watching documentaries of when he was still just the promise of a bright future, only a challenger among many, and thinking that now he ihas not only fullfilled those promises but also gone beyond... and his spirit is still the same wild, unyelding one of his earlier years
  8. I'm feeling quite brave for ID, tho my gut whispers that Canada could be more friendly with a Montreal team than with a Russian team... the jr boys are a superwild guess so I'm just gonna go with BV takes it all LOL (will Canada be a plus or pressure for Stephen? Who knows). I'm also sacrificing my wishes in the name of ISU season best tables if skating gods decide to make some big podium upset jsut to mock my vain attempt at logics, they're welcome! thanks Joey for organizing everything! Admittedly it's more fun and less nerve-wrecking when a certain someone isn't in the mix (), I'll keep my cool for most of the comps and save the jitters for the ladies
  9. jr ladies will be even crazier but I'll be happy if my fave wild child will skate two clean programs and get a new SB, regardless of podium I'm really looking forward to jr ID too.. actually, I think Sr&JrLadies + JrIceDance are the comp that I really want to watch, I hope schedule for those disciplines will be merciful for european timezone for Men I'll probably just predict Keegan in bronze... JunHwan did very well when I thougth he'd be 4th, so I'm gonna predict him in 4th again (and if in the end he'll be 4th it would be another poetic parallel with the other young Romeo LOL). Who will get the bronze, the youngest or an uncle? tho I'm a bit worried about Junhwan getting UR calls, plus the suspicious Lz edge. tech calls have lowered his scores quite a bit in previous competitions even when he landed all the jumps... I think in comparison all 3 uncles have less to worry about tech calls, if they manage not to pop or fall... Junhwan is also a bit behind in PCS also wondering if Keegan and Sergei will go for 4Lz and 4Lo or play it safe...
  10. when the Olympic channel is the only saviour of FS at least Olympic Seimei and Sochi PW will stay up thank you Olympic Channel! And darn ISU find a solution NOW or most people will just give up on following this sport because it's impossible to find the most basic thing: video of the darn competitions. I wonder why in the last few weeks there has been such systematic action against channels that have been there for many years...what's changed? it's not like uploading FS videos is new... p.s.: blessed Ted Barton and the JGP channel too Please Ted, take over the ISU already!
  11. well, it will be kind of weird to see his new competitive program only once, but I guess Javi's gonna use it in show too with a few tweaks any news about new programs in ROI? Anything that could look like a new SP? skating in shows would be a good opportunity to test the choreo, even doing triples instead of quads... Has he skated the 4 min version of his FS after japan Open? sadly I don't think there's any plan of going to TCC for intensive training (like I hoped before the start of the season) He's basically doing ROI till new year and then it's only 3 weeks to Euros I really think Javi's gonna YOLO the whole thing... being relaxed usuall works well for him and anyway I feel Euros will be more about saying goodbye than proving he can ward off the other contenders. But you can bet he'd want to aim for that title, and at the moment the most dangerous competitors haven't delivered as expected...tho there are a few names on the rise, so please, Javi, do train and don't forget the new requirements for spin levels!
  12. That would require some pretty bad outings from both the two favourites for gold As for me, if the pattern holds I'm gonna epically jinx my predicted silver...that would be Nathan, as I'm gonna trust Shoma to finally tackle all combos and take gold...sorry Nathan but I really can't see anyone else than those two ad gold and silver, so...
  13. AND FIX THAT PINKY! I hope it's doable, I don't want Yuzu to feel any pain anywhere, not even in a pinky yeah, I know, wistful thinking
  14. but of course, never skating a new(and still unfinished) SP and FS with time cut in competitive environment before Euros, what could possibly go wrong! YOLOcomp is the way to go! Javi may be retiring after Euros, but his Chaotic!TCCbrothers energy is stronger than ever
  15. Brian, you can't tell me you think training Nessie after rehab is doable, making me moderately hopeful, and then crush me like this I mean, yeah it's kinda expected with everything we already knew about the injury, but please don't play with my feelings, ok?
  16. thank you @Rainbow for translating all the interviews reading of all these young skaters suffering injuries and taking painkillers and skating through pain will never stop to be both frightening and amazing to me and a reminder of how much it costs for the whole family too, to keep supporitng their kids in this sport, even in a country when there is a little bit of funding for figure skating... makes me especially salty when I hear of the millions and millions and millions many top football players get..couldn't they donate like 1% of those deals to poorer sports? ahh, the glove and velcro tape must have been awful to live through, but in hindsight the recounting made me laugh Sad that Mitsuki had having ice time issues this season... ice time really is essential to be competitive skater... and sad that he re-injured himself during JNats Touched that RJ1 in Nice was the trigger that made him discover how much he loved skating
  17. all bad news coming together...Universe you're so bad! well, I hope at least Wenjing is doing well now....that no-audio video with the throw jump made me really realize how much I miss Sui/Han in comp sorry, what does it mean he isn't training with Team China? What's the difference with team Beijing? I'm sad that he's struggling with confidence and I hope he will get proper assistance there (it doesn't sounds like he think he needs that tho). also, I wonder how he has changed after coming back from abroad and what has made him change.... loving Lori for telling him to always be happy Boyang and I like that he's getting to a point in his career where he starts giving his input on programs (i know he loved last CTHD music) ... but please Boyang, treat those ankles and feet well, I know you love quads and we love your quads too, but you need to be healthy to keep doing them and challenging things... for now it sounds like he's doing a couple hours of on-ice training per day, which I think is quite good, right? It doesn't sound that far off what Yuzuru does (thinking in perspective of people with troubling ankles) Also, the VISA thing was truly a nightmare
  18. My first reaction to the news of WD was 'oh' and then relief reading the "3 weeks of rest one month rehab". I'm sure sadness will catch up soon enough Now praying for 3weeks+1month being all Yuzu needs to heal well enough Is the wording the same ad last season? I know injury Is a bit different but rest and rehab timeline? Just to have an idea when I can reasonably start to freak out without updates...(and I think and I'm gonna start counting the 3 weeks from now just in case ) I feel very sorry for Yuzu that he'll likely need to skip Nats too...I think even more than the final, he wanted to be there in Japan for Nats Now rest well, Yuzu. I'm sure you will imagine-train your programs and will your ideal into reality, but in the meanwhile take comfort in the warmth of your family and the love of your hometown and of all your fans, eat well, try new earphones and do your demonic lipsyncing Also, prepare yourself to be showered in thousands of supporting messages from all over the world Sharing thIs too, it looks funny and sweet (also, a good excuse to treat ourselves with cake!) Also (avoid reading if you don't like jokes about curses &Co)
  19. Re: Boyang It looks like it doesn't really hurt, but still... reminds me of when Yuzuru talked about still feeling discomfort when trying the Lz... Boyang, et tu! why are you still feeling discomfort? You were supposed to heal fast And if your ankles felt weird why did you even try 5 quads layout a couple months ago? Please now take care. Also, I hope the discomfort is on only one ankle, not both (and hopefully not the right ankle because I shudder thinking about that massive 4Lz of his ). I feel sad for him because, contrary to Yuzu, he doesn't have the pcs and top goe on quad sal and toe to keep his scores high even when leaving out the 4Lz...he would still need a 4Lz to be competitive with the top guys... hope he knows when to stop and take it easier if the weird feeling becomes pain (please skaters' ankles be safe!)
  20. question: is there a words limit? I'm basically already writing a long-ass letter so I'd like to know if I have to keep my lyrical self in check
  21. well, I'm definitely crying this really stabbed me. I mean, of course one imagines, but reading this... I'm so deeply, deeply, deeply glad that Yuzu could smile on top of PC podium the mere thought of how it could have been otherwise... I hope one day someone will make a full translation of the book and do like for the Ao Honoo books, send the translation after proof of purchase... I want to read the whole book and now Yuzuru is going through injury again but at least no impending OWG...this time no 'gold medal he's betting his whole life on'. He has time. And he knows he can do that. Yuzu, just take all the time you need, ok? I think I'm gonna watch some happy & dorky Zu making hot chocolate now
  22. Brian, Yuzu still needs a good right ankle to land a Nessie please you should be the strict dad, not the enabling uncle Well, I guess it is a bit reassuring that Brian thinks trying a 4A is more doable for Yuzu's ankle than jumping a 4Lz....maybe? Well, we can only wait and trust Yuzu and team Brian ETA: also on the 4Lo, I think it's not by chance that basically Shoma's is MIA and Nathan dropped it (I think I've seen practice footage of nicely landed 4Lo this season but haven't seen it in comp). While we have many 4Lz and 4F attempts and many landed from different skaters (part of the reason is that BV makes F and Lz more rewarding, but really makes you think how hard is to jump a proper 4Lo...afaik Voronov still hasn't landed a ratified one and I haven't seen the one by Grassrl so idk how it looked)
  23. thank you for the explanation. LOL at first when I read 5f I wondered when Shoma had landed a quint, while not even questioning Yuzu's 7T LOL my brain telling me to go and get some sleep I also blame that Ghana CM I'm kinda surprised at the percentage of Shoma's all-positive-goe-skates', the feeling I have is that he tends to compete on quite high average without no particularly abysmal skates (I think in his senior career he hasn't had many skates comparable to Yuzu's ACI17 FS or SC15 SP). But that low percentage of all-positive-goe is probably due to how sometimes his landings are 'saved', so he is 'clean' but with some negative goe. Also surprised at Nathan having more all-positive-goe free skates than short programs so weird...Yuzuru, Shoma and Misha instead pretty much confirm that it's more likely to be clean on a short... well, Nathan also has a smaller pool of senior skates but still, surprising he managed to have all positive goe 3 times with 4 or 5 quads... weeping a little at how well Yuzuru's season had started
  24. mh, depending on how JGPF will go for Koshiro (and likely on how SrNats will go), I can see fed leaving Shun at home and sending Koshiro (especially if he manages to grab a gpf medal)...despite Shun having the highest scoring potential...I guess they want to see how consistent these boys can be, they want those 3 spots back... How consistent is Tatsuya? btw I like his FS costume, it reminds me of a mix of Yuzu's Etude+MR anyway, congrats to the medalists and to those who will go to SrNats, and congrats to the ladies! I'm happy that both Yuna Aoki and Tomoe are in top six, and Tomoe on podium and of course Nana! Happy for Yuhana too (tho weird to see her in jr considering the age of some of current sr ladies..tho I understand the field was way too crowded already...) Japan really has some very great jumpers...they only need some more polish, which will come with time, and most important they need to land those beautiful jumps they have... sad for Rion tho and for Moa...but no surprises there. If only she could have someone to help her improve those jumps...
