  1. You just have to remind me of the injustice dealt for Zagitova at Wakaba's expense But yes, I said it in the CoC Ladies' thread right after the protocol was out. It was insane that Waka got lower IN and PE; even same scores for CO is - though admittedly my assessment for this component particularly tend to be among the most biased. Which is why I hope this gets fixed. If judges are hellbent to reward this program like they did in CoC, it better start to deserve it. A totally reverse logic, but well
  2. That's it. That's exactly my problem with Zagitova's FS. Only, my less eloquent explanation was that for me "she was too abrupt - the movements do not flow nicely from one to the other". Someone once commented, while we were watching the replay of her jgp last year (played during zamboni time during this year jgp), that she was sloppier then. Seeing her now, I think she is still rather sloppy. I sincerely hope this will change as she polishes her programs more going into the later part of the season.
  3. I'm glad to hear that. It has been going on for half a day, and I was getting worried
  4. What I am fearing the most is that ISU will use Patrick's and Javi's current situation as more 'reason' for the proposed change of rules. You know, those "Look at these excellent skaters falling behind because the quads tilted the playing field so badly against them", "we don't want FS to be more of rewarding in tech and left those with excellent skating skills unmotivated", etc. bullpucky. Sorry, I am talking myself down, and probably dragging people with me. I am done, I promise.
  5. After CoC Higuchi 11 + 13 = 24 Radionova 9 + 11 = 20 Medvedeva 15 + ? Osmond 15 + ? Zagitova 15 + ? Honda 7 + 7 = 14 Kostner 13 + ? Sotskova 13 + ? Wagner 11 + ? Hicks 9 + ? Mihara 9 + ? Sakamoto 7 + ? Making that list makes me mad again. Should not have done that.
  6. So, based on CoC we now have: Kolyada 11 + 15 = 26 (qualified) Uno 15 + ? Chen 15 + ? Hanyu 13 + ? Brown 13 + ? Jin 13 + ? Samarin 11 + ? Aaron 11+ ? Ge 9 + ? Zhou 9 + ? Chan 9 + 0 = 9 Kvitelashvili 7 + ? Hendrickx 7 + ? Yan 7 + ? (Someone should do a more organised list )
  7. Young You and Yuna. Google translate tells me Yuna calls her 'baby'.
  8. How do I embed instagram? Ah, it works. Pretty Yuna!
  9. A tribute to Yuzu's 3A by the-real-xmonster in tumblr.
  10. I've been doing this since CoR. I suck at actually predicting - I overthink absolutely everything
  11. 3000 rhinestones No wonder my photophobia acted up the worst when he is on. The thing I sacrificed only to watch him, tho... That said, I will give my left kidney to be able to watch him live.
  12. There are reasons why skaters keep their hands closer to their body when jumping (and why the closer their limbs to their body while spinning makes them spin faster) - it helps them rotate faster. Keeping the hip straight while jumping, while potentially helps the axis, does not help rotations. Raising hand(s) also changes the centre of mass, hence making the body more difficult to control. I am sure someone can explain the exact physics law governing this thing, but it is simultaneously cringeworthy and such an eye-roll moment for the current situation. Commentators not knowing this, I can maaaaaybe forgive. ISU judge? No. Figure skating - and how ISU is botching it - is this close to losing me as a fan. ETA: personally I don't like it when skaters overuse tano/rippon - but that's a personal preference, which does not take away the fact that doing tano/rippon does make the jumps more difficult and deserve the 'varied air position' bullet ticked for it.
  13. OMG! Every time there's ANYthing on his hand I
  14. I promise myself to be less salty about everything, but hey! Maybe by Tracy doing that, I could just sit back, nod, and occasionally point people to what she said. Mama Tracy ftw! And against the criticism against Fanyu, let the picture shows. Going back to what Duhamel tweeted, again, "What would figure skating be without the Yuzuru fandom?" Going by the pictures, Idk man, you decide As for Gabby's insta video, yes please. Yuzu, stop popping! Maybe by letting your jumps happen whenever instead of timing it to OTHER SKATER'S MUSIC. Although, to that extraness. I am such a paradox when it comes to this dork
  15. I personally have no problem if they are doing it here on the planet, tho. Wasn't that one of the reasons this planet is created? While I am one of those who would rather wait before panicking, I can totally understand why others would. I would imagine they come here and rant about it, so the rest of us who are not panicking can calm them down a bit.
  16. Oooooh Definitely a smart move. Also explains be why JP media is being nice to him. A tad too 'nice', what with the constant shoving of cameras wherever he goes, but I guess that's the consequence.
  17. I wonder if these are intentional PR moves by Yuzu and his team. I mean, technically they couldn't predict ACI's SP WR, but there Brian made sure they release the knee problem. Either way, JP media has been tamed. Now, if only the other media would behave. A girl could always dream.
  18. I am blaming it on how messy ISU treats the sport (I am using a blanket assessment again on this). And you are not the only one crashing so hard from the swan-high. Also, this is Monday. Real life
  19. Posted this on the Rostelecom Men's FS thread as well. the-real-xmonster's attempt at explaining the possible reason behind the lost of level in Seimei's stsq. I was confused, perhaps anyone one else was, too.
  20. The CBC Olympics tweet has been deleted, yeah? Or I couldn't find it somehow? Anyway. I need to find a way to block the media somehow. Especially, and please forgive this blanket assessment, North American media. I am fed up with how they cover politics, should not have been surprised about how they cover the sport.
  21. I... am calm now, totally calm. *dying whale noises* Ok, that's... whoah! side note: is that Oda commentating? also, only Yuzu could bring that crowd for an open practice and make said crowd cheers like it is already a competition.
