  1. Quoting this for... ...reasons. And we might get 4Lz after all. I just... will wait patiently in the corner while probably trimming my nails with eithet teeth or nailfiles, whichever is appropriate at any moment. All the talk about Oly being around the time of exam... sh*t! Whyyyyyyy?!
  2. I can't with all these cuties..... Me: loose sleeves showing his lower arms -> can Yuzu please skate with either loose sleeve or 2/3 sleeve or none long sleeve in competition sometime soon, please... so graceful 4T in an EX -> oh boy, here we go spread eagle-3A-hop -> but of course, why not layback ina bauer leading to 2nd 4T -> whoah! what?! and this 2nd 4T has better landing than the 1st one too! the hair antenna at the end of Hana Ni Nare -> help pick up a child who fell -> hydroblading while holding a mic with the other hand -> the blue costume baby boy hydroblading in the opposite direction to Yuzu's hydroblade -> the green jacket baby deer boy keep on falling while following Yuzu-sensei's instruction -> gpoy but also reading all the translation of what Yuzu said (why this rink is special to him, "it's ok to fall, as long as you don't give up", "I want to skate until middle age so I can skate with you" ->
  3. I said before I would do anything to be one of those children. But this smile. Yeah, I would be the child who trips on nothing and/or who skates right to the boards or other children when he smiles like that.
  4. Oh what I would do to be one of those children... but also
  5. Shizuka Arakawa is one of my all-time favourite, but I am so glad I caught her career quite a bit later. source source
  6. Speaking of Adelina: Source Source and source Some are from her younger years, but still.
  7. Page 999. It's scary how fast this thread grow.
  8. That was great! My other comments are gonna be comparing him to Boyang's last season's FS, and Machida and Jason Brown's skating (I know, it's weird that his skating reminds me of them), so let's not do that.
  9. Sorry for the interruption, but came across this in tumblr and I just Oda imitating Shoma's landing and Yuzu prolong
  10. There's a whole tumblr page dedicated to this, but the last post was 2016. Also, some of the costumes submitted were fine, imo. But there are some really ugly ones: What even is that???! Some of the above images might be NSFW. If so, let me know I'll remove it.
  11. Just came back from The Hague for passport stuff... Ah, Seimei. My vote is for a sparkly black costume. And I am hoping for (while cautiously preparing for the lack of) 4Lz. I have opinions about feeling strongly one way or another in regards to Yuzu's decisions, but let's not go there. After all, I couldn't do anything to influence his decisions or how people feel about them. I am learning to pick my battle. The spoiler does not contain any spoiler, just me being a Debbie Downer in a completely different way. Open at your own risk, prepare for the sad trombone sound.
  12. New boots (I mean, of course) and skate guards.
  13. Confession time: I am always more nervous about how fans initially react to Yuzu's decision more than his actual decision. Case in point: Chopin 3.0. I'll check in again in an hour while trying to pretend anything else matter atm.
  14. Explanation on Jump Scoring. At least until ISU change it yet again.
  15. When I got into FS, Michelle has r****d for awhile, so I did not get to enjoy her during her active years. Yuna said Michelle is her hero, and that's how I knew about her. I was disheartened when I found out she did not win the Oly's gold (which went to Tara, of all people), but I am glad that despite that, she is still considered a legend in FS. I think one commentator always commented on her 'silent blades' for how effortless her skating was. And this program, bearing in mind she was recovering from injuries, was a testament to that. Current ladies FS really needs to recapture the effortless beautiful skating of the former generations, imo. It's part of the reasons I switched my focus to men's, other than, you know, Yuzu.
  16. I got RJ (the picture is for RJ1, but I doubt there's an RJ2 result). Whoa!
  17. Whoa! All 6.0 for the 2nd mark. And deservingly so. Again, I still don't quite know how Ice Dance works, but their skating was just so seamless.
  18. Oh Shoma I was honestly looking forward to him being the future of Japanese Men FS (after the inevitable let's-not-talk-about-it). But at this point, I think Yuzu might outlast him.
  19. That Papadakis blue top, tho... I think it was dubbed broken blue condom that season... But I get the point about the colour coordination. I like the Shibs FS costumes last season. Simple but elegant.
  20. Their entries to the throws were different from the usual, right? Or am I missing something? And the twist, she was almost vertical, as oppose to the near horizontal I always see. Again, what a tragedy he died so young.
  21. Yuna (and Mao) was the reason I get into figure skating. Although when I was watching that generation, I only focused on the ladies events. I am just months older than her, was struggling with finishing college, and I could not fathom how she could do what she did with all the pressure and lack of substantial support (as in skating federation and fellow national skaters) she had back then. Brian and the training team did a really good job sort of shielding her from the pressure. But you can tell she was feeling it, and the only time she seemed to be enjoying herself was when she was on the ice, skating. This program was an absolute joy to watch. Yuzu's 2017 Worlds FS was only the second time I feel the same elation I felt when Yuna finished this program. I was holding my breath in the 2nd half of the program and cried with joy when she finished it. Truly remarkable. (And Mao had to go right after this. I was feeling for her as well.) Perhaps an unpopular opinion, and note that I enjoyed her skating after her comeback, I wish they had let her r**** when she wanted it. I know why they did not and why she decided to come back. Her skating also went into another, deeper emotional level after that, but oh the drama!
  22. Another gem, apparently! I counted at least 2 Ina Bauers, several spread eagles - inside and outside edges, and like the commentators couldn't stop saying, beautiful lines throughout. He was rather slow, which I guess was normal back then, but it also gave the impression of lightness and controlled skating. The jumps were also incorporated well into the program and the music. So sad to hear about his childhood and later life, tho...
  23. Whoa! At Vancouver, I was only paying attention to the Ladies event (there were Yuna, Mao, and Caro there, so). I also kinda don't know how to watch Ice Dance, tbh. After this year's world, it has started becoming more endearing to me, but I am still scared someone is going to get sliced with the skate cz the pairs dance so close to each other. This performance, tho. They looked so in love while they skate.
  24. More tips on turns and steps. The same author as the ones from the two posts before this. Although a reblogger has cautioned that for after Oly season ISU will change the rule.
  25. I usually commented - cz I find the flashbacks to great skates before I become a fan to be really interesting - but what indeed do you say to THAT? p.s. is anyone willing to make some mockup score of how this would potentially be scored with the new scoring system?
