I don't want to say this but most good choreographers I have seen are either ex-ice dancers like David Wilson, Lori, Kenji, Averburk, Peter Chev... (they're dancers of course they have good sense when it comes to choreography) or ex-skaters who did not have good jumps (Rohene, then Jeff for example, he was an amazing skater but his jumps...). Great technician skaters (like Plushenko, or mama Orser) never become good choreographer. And actually they never seem to be interested in choreography

I am glad that we have the analysis video to counter attack those in the FS world who do not care to do any research and dare say that "Hanyu's programs are empty". Now every time I see such stupid comments, I reply them with the video that Gladi, Fay and others did. I am so glad you guys did it.

Do you think he will be Shin Amano 2 ?? Shin Amano will never be as strict as Yuzuru if Yuzuru wants to become a tech specialist. But honestly, a successful skater like Yuzuru can do shows for 10-15 years and care nothing about ISU test lol. The chance of Yuzuru working for ISU is technically Zero. They do not have enough money to pay him. Unless he wants to do it for the sake of skating.

Yuzuru's choreography for team Japan was horrible. No choice of Yuzuru being a choreographer. He can be a technical specialist. Bless those who might get called though...

Scheduled to do Radionova's LP May 2-7. Ok so Jeff is doing SOI, DW is busy for Marin, Shae is busy for Radionova. That leaves a possibility, Yuzuru is still choosing music and he has not decided yet. Or he already has choreography done

I think he insists on 4S3T in the second half of his LP because he will replace 4S in the first half by another quad.

I have the feeling he is having a headache right with program musics. Jeff is on SOI tour, so no choreography with Jeff. David Wilson is doing choreography for Marin Honda. So no DW either. Shae? Do we have any news about Shae?

I have said this many times, even if he skates to something people have skated to 1000 times, as long as he wins, it doesn't matter. I am fine with all. But I know he will have some great choices. In my dream, he skates to an explosive program like Romeo 1.0 I think he wants to bring that fire back.

He won't bring Seimei. For sure. He will have something general media and casual viewers can relate to.

The main reason why this season Yuzuru has lower PCS than he should is because: - His programs are not well-liked by the judges. Again, thanks to the like of many stupid comments from the so-called "experts" like TSL that "Hanyu's programs are empty". And the music choice for LP is not in the face for them. - The bad LP at Boston harmed Yuzuru's image worse than it should be. - He didn't have any clean performance since Boston. And only by Helsinki he manages to get good LP. This win at Helsinki means a lot. So his programs were not liked, his image wasn't favored, he still won. The importance of a well-liked program means a lot. I think that's why he repeatedly talks about improving his programs.

The reality is that Yuzuru and Javi don't practice together much. They have different timelines. I guess that helped too.

It's not just a matter of quads vs triples, tho. Toe and Salchow are jumps where your hips are "open" to rotation at take off, as such it's just the movement you are doing that "cause" some rotation on ice before the actual take off. When you do Loop, Flip and Lutz your hips are "closed" to rotation, but: with loop some degree of pre-rotation is again natural since it's an edge jump (so you don't have a "snap" picking up moment). Flip is not counter-rotated like lutz so it's normal if you have a tiny bit of prerotation more. It's not by chance, imo, that ISU speaks about "cheated jump" when the prerotation goes to 180° and over, because a bit of PR is considered normal and just in the way you are supposed to take off. The only jump where you should have next to nothing PR is lutz, since pre-rotating it would mean doing everything but a lutz Actually with the lutz, good ladies Lutzers like Liza, Yuna, Polina... have from 60-90 degrees of PR though. Men the same I think. But just 60-90 degrees doesn't mean too much. Over 180 degrees and almost up to 270 (Satoko) is insane and should not be called toe jumps anymore.

Wasn't there reports that he tried it along with the 4Lz attempts at WTT? I highly doubt that those reporters at WTT actually can tell the different of Flip and Lutz entry though. :nono: I don't think Yuzuru ever tried a 4F at all. 3,75 rotation on air is acceptable to be called a quad. But 3.25-ish like Shoma is too much. The point is ISU tech committee do not want to crack this take-off issue down before Olympic. They could not afford to affect the whole system before Olympic. So any change in the system will be after Olympic.

One thing is not very correct. Yuzuru always brings his luggage by himself even at the competitions. :p Fancam at WC 2017 here: Yes he does abuse Brian and Mr Kikuchi to bring his Pooh. But Pooh is hardly a luggage. Another thing, Yuzuru is very motivated to practice and improve. But he is too emotional I doubt that Eteri can handle him. Girls are better at calming themselves down. Boys are not. Someone like Tracy is better at calming Yuzuru down than Eteri for sure. Not to mention, Yuzuru has always been AGAINST his coaches. Tracy, Brian and Grisland's main job is to restrain him actually.
