  1. Loop as a solo jump or the first jump in the combo is not too big of a problem. But as the second jump in the combo, 3Loop is very hard for grown up bodies to get full rotation and even if he gets full rotation it is difficult to get good GOE with 3loop as the second jump in the combo because it has less flow (and the landing can be scratchy). Not to mention it might affect the hips not in a good way, so not many grown up skaters try it in senior.
  2. I am not Yuzuru and I am not anyone in Yuzuru's team, so I can not tell how much he will change his new layout. Just this is my experience from years following him, knowing his personality to some extent, he surely will upgrade. That is just how he has been all these years.
  3. Well I am not scared for Yuzuru when it comes to the number of quads because he surely has known how all the other men are doing and how judges are scoring.
  4. Yeah I have heard that Javi is practicing the 4Lo so who knows if he will add it. I am sure Yuzuru will upgrade his layout anyway.
  5. Well to be fair for Patrick, he could have won had he skated not bad after Yuzuru at Sochi.
  6. Knowing Yuzuru, I am 100% sure he will upgrade his layout. PS: this is not I know Yuzuru personally. This is my observation of Yuzuru after years following him. And when I strongly believe in something about him, it happens.
  7. Well this is not about other skaters, but about Yuzuru. I am just saying, as a fan of Yuzuru for long, knowing his personality to a somewhat extent, I am just sure he will upgrade his layout.
  8. Yuzuru needs a huge upgrade in the layout which I believe it's his plan (knowing him for years, his personality is that... it) Scores each season are different. Last season they slowed down Yuzuru's scores and make the gap with other skaters shorter. They do not want to break the system yet. But next season, the scores will break free. Judges will give all top concenters like +3 and 9.75 and even 10 like candies. Because... "We will change the system anyway lol lol, why not give out giant scores for everyone!!" <-- That's their logic with the ladies and the men, even the ice dance are hitting the ceiling because judges feel happy to have a new system.
  9. No, Mishin did not say much about Shoma. I am just trying to copy Mishin's words when he bashed Mao and said Mao's 3A was just an illusion. But I am not surprised HAD Mishin coached Javi, he could have said that about Shoma. You know, currently, Mishin has no top male coach so there is no reason for him to say so.
  10. I don't think his team are waiting to see things. I think Yuzuru is still practicing rigorously so he can upgrade higher BV as much as he can. At the same time, he might have some choice for his LP, maybe some similar set up so he can skate cleaner.
  11. I am sure he has fully rotated 4A in practice, I think Max Ambesi did have some legit source. But it is no need to try it at Olympic. It is too dangerous.
  12. Well, my favorite composer is not Mozart. My favorites are Back, Schubert, Bizet and somewhat Beethoven + Stravinsky + Schnittke. However, I do not think Mozart was over-rated. One has to study classical music rigorously to see why Mozart is so great and so effective. I think it is not easy to play Mozart so well, especially his chamber music. Back to Yuzuru: I am sure he will upgrade his layout... and one thing I am glad is that his head will not creep us out like Boyang (I love you Boyang but the way you roll your head....)
  13. Well but on a higher note, @Katt has a point that Yuzuru has competed for non-stop this whole quad... so he will get great scores next season as long as he delivers because Olympic candies can be applied for everyone who constantly stays before the judges' eyes for years.
  14. As someone who grows up around classical musicians, I have to say Mozart is not over-rated at all. The greatness of Mozart is to make things so effective and memorable and so friendly to everyone even though the way he composed music still followed a strict standard of the classical era.
  15. Noy really, I do think Yuzuru is in better position than Yuna in 2014 and Plushenko in 2010 because Yuzuru does upgrade his layout. I think maybe Yuzuru's layout won't be higher than Nathan (who might go for 6-7 quads), however there is a high chance Yuzuru's layout might be the second highest. And with better quality and better programs, he can make it. Have some faith in him, and pray for him.
  16. 1st - Yuzuru already won OGM, so they want a different one, those chosen ones do not have to be younger guys, they want Javi too. Right after Sochi, Russian insiders already said ISU "want a new one at the next Olympic". 2nd - Judges want Javi the most (if you look at the scores they gave Javi last season, too many 10s and 3 even though he has NO new quad). Also, the majority of judges are European, so they score Javi based on some bias too. They think Javi is "the last masculine skater". 3nd - Yuzuru does not do bad, his consistency is above Javi and the rest of the men actually, but he is held to a different standard. Judges want the highest BV from Yuzuru AND the highest quality. Any tiny mistake will be judged harshly, but other men can pre-rotate- under-rotate -Almost fall and still get GOE. The reason is simple, they are not Yuzuru Hanyu the one who has had so many WR and OGM. Yuzuru did say something right, for him to win the 2nd OGM, he has to improve crazily to become the absolute champion. The thing is, no one is absolute. No one is perfect. He is the only one who is expected to be perfect. It is unreasonable standard I know. But that's the only way for him. Because most of the small feds are in Europe. If you look at the judging panel of most big competition. Most of the time, at least 5 up to 7 out of 9 judges are from Europe. As long as you're a top skater who is European and NOT Russian, you get the judges' love. Example: Carolina Kostner, Aliona Svachenko, Javier Fernandez.
  17. Because Javi is the only true hope of European judges... like Maxim Trankov said. Javi is the only "true masculine" guy among the top men...
  18. JSF will want Satoko aka miss consistency and Marin aka miss commercial. i have nothing against them personally. But I think Mai has better skating skills than both, too bad she isn't refined.
  19. I am sure 4F is not more difficult than 4Lo. Frankly the BV are almost about the same. The gap isn't big. So it's funny when the Shoma's media supporters go around saying 4F is more difficult even though they're almost around the same. Not to mention Shoma doesn't have a true 4F. If I have to use Mishin's words, Shoma's 4F is just an illusion. It's more of a hybrid of a toe and edge jump. It's not even a quad because it's just 3.25 rotations. Nathan is the only one with a true 4F at the moment.
  20. 1st) judges don't want him win after Boston. That's for sure. They wanted anyone else (Javi, Shoma, Nathan) but Yuzuru. 2nd) judges think 4Lo is inferior, aka Mishin's style, they think 4lo doesn't worth it, that 4F and 4lz are the future. Even though the reality is that 4Lo and 4F have the same values almost. And frankly 4Lo is even more difficult to control. 3rd) judges give out scores based on whom they want. Looking at the scores you understand whom they love the most even when those skaters messed up. Those who get saved and generous GOE and PCS even when they messed some elements. It's so clear this season they want Javi, Shoma and... Nathan in the second half of the season.
  21. That fancam is limited to the left side of the rink, on the other hand, it shows his 3A1lo3S very well. That combo was huge.
  22. Janet Lynn's tano a long time ago: John Curry's tano change of hands. Michael Chack's hands-on-the-hips at the 2A Yuzuru's helicopter arms: Brian Boitano arms in front in 2A;
  23. It's always easy to be the chaser than the top of the top. That's why most Olympic gold medalists r****d, lost motivation or just withdrew from most competitions after wining Olympic. Yuna didn't come back to GP series after Vancouver. Plushenko also didn't do GP or even WC after 2005. No men in the field could understand the pressure that Yuzuru is enduring in every competition. The mentality of being the ice king comes with a huge price. I can't understand how people dare call Yuzuru as weak. I laugh at people calling his rivals as having nerves of steel and Yuzuru not. The other men are not mentally stronger than Yuzuru. They're just at better place to feel less stress. I dare all the current men to compete with the pressure Yuzuru has suffered in the last 4 years. I am sure all of them would rather not being on top for such pressure and attention. That's why Nathan doesn't seem to stick around for 2022. He just wants to be the chaser, easier to do, and be done with it.
  24. Well, apparently Yuzuru is very sensitive to the surrounding that's why he is so emotional. He can feel bad or good energy from people. He has great mentality, of course every one has weaknesses but of all the men in the top, his mental strength is the strongest. He isn't calm and collected and he doesn't act so chill like Nathan Chen for example. But he can be strongest when needed. And after all those years, he has proved he is the leader people always look up to, Without Yuzuru as the leader, the men can not reach where they are today. And if Yuzuru just do not take the burdens, the rest of the men will be clueless.
