  1. My mind was thinking of 3A the jump (which made me , besides, success rate wise, Shoma is the second most successful 3A jumper after Yuzu, why the need to train 3A again? Did I miss something??) ...until I realized that it referred to Anna-Alena-Alexandra... I am still going slightly mad this off season after all
  2. ...and Adam will serve out all the tea 😏🍵 ...the schadenfreude I got from this post...sorry Shoma but I just... Anyhow, speaking of coaches, may I remind you all with Kevin Aymoz's coach? It's true that he is not exactly what one might consider as *the* top coach, but considering how Kevin developed, and how the skating philosophy is like (as manifested in Kevin's programs last season (you know, programs with proper skating skills and transitions etc.)), he might be a good match for Shoma. I know it's a long shot, but hey, who knows...
  3. ....would that tOMz effect transfer on foreign skaters though? LOL nvm I thought of the Florida team, (James/Cipres, Aymoz & co.) Zimmerman wasn't it? True that he's not exactly considered as a top coach at this moment, but seeing how Kevin developed under him, I think he can be considered as one possibility of coaches based in North America for Shoma (might be one of the best for him even, especially compared to...) Mishin could be good for him technically speaking (on jumps), but then he'd just skate with even more crossovers, and I don't exactly look forward to that I couldn't see what other NA coaches (Gambill, Kori Ade and... I might missed others, oh well...) can offer to Shoma that are different (ie. advantageous) from what was already offered by his old coaches, so I don't really consider them though I kinda prefer Shoma goes to Kori rather than Raf, emotionally speaking? But then again I really don't know how Kori can help Shoma develop further Anyhow I wish he is well-matched with his new coach, whoever that might be...
  4. Ivett Toth did an AC/DC SP (alright that might not be metal enough but AC/DC still hits hard :p ), though I think if she wasn't so successful with it, it had less to do with the music and more with her own consistency in nailing all her elements Not so sure about this — the issue with LGC was more with Yuzu's difficulty in nailing all his jumps consistently, which might contribute to the lower PCS he received for it. Was Boyang able to nail his SP cleanly? Maybe on a few occasions, but as far as I remember CMIIW he struggled with performing it cleanly as well, so I think the reason for these two programs received less well than they should is more to the execution of the elements rather than the music choice itself (similar to Ivett's issue with AC/DC). I don't mean to downplay any potential resistance by the judges (if there does turn out to be any), but let's not overblow things either.
  5. @LadyLou beat me to it but afaik Yuzu's consideration of not skating EX programs with Japanese songs outside Japan is that he was worried that the audience wouldn't be able to completely understand the music (eg. the lyrics) — which I too disagree with, since 1. Lyrics is secondary for me in musical enjoyment (yeah this is more of a personal reason), and 2. Many people might still be able to enjoy the whole performance (not just the music) anyway, should Yuzu ever ends up skating a(n EX) program overseas (this is Yuzu we are speaking of after all, the skater with the best performance skills ever existed on ice). I only heard his thought on this on EX programs though, and Yuzu is hardly alone on this matter — Keiji Tanaka only performed his Jojo EX in Japan (though the reason is slightly different — with Jojo's Bizarre Adventure being popular mostly in Japan and he (Keiji) might be unsure if people outside Japan can *get* JJBA — I haven't found out anything he said about this). I don't know if his thought on this also apply for competitive programs — I haven't come across any of his statements explicitly saying that. He doesn't hesitate using instrumental Japanese music for competitive programs, that's for sure. I guess I only want to let him know that it is definitely okay to skate to Japanese songs (with Japanese lyrics) outside Japan, petty minds be dxmnxd...
  6. If the event organization weren't so dodgy then I'd definitely like him to be at French GP (...sounds obvious, but yeah, quite unlikely to happen...)
  7. I strongly disagree. I'd rather the Shibs a thousand times (and more) rather than the tOp iCE dANcE pAIr the USFSA is currently touting right now. It's not fine at all (unless USFSA switch up to touting Chock/Bates instead but I am definitely not going to hold my breath and not gonna expecting anything at all from USFSA being the zbbsbhxbusn that they are... ).
  8. Same, I pick Skate Canada and Rostelecom too, I thought of NHK Trophy and Rostelecom at first but seeing the GP schedule it is one of the least likely picks for Yuzu now — assuming that Yuzu's GP of choice is always NHK Trophy or Rostelecom then I picked the possibly the next best pick — a GP early in the start of the series and Rostelecom. I pick Skate Canada because it's also a GP Yuzu used to despite underscoring :þ (and also because Nathan is most likely going to Skate America, but he's really the only other skater I think of when I think of the GP pick). ...and I don't really think of other skaters when choosing which GPs Yuzu might possibly go to...
  9. ...hard not to say/do nasty things after just seeing this post — just what did they consume daily exactly? Why did they do this so suddenly?? Do they lack arithmetical/mathematical literacy or what?? Seriously WHERE WERE YOUR BRAINS???? If it were up to me I'd round up all those lunatics and toss them into the madhouse, lock 'em up and making sure they never ever be able to get out
  10. I hereby admit that any Adam Rippon content I come across (on YT especially) is a guilty pleasure of mine... ...I still only watch him occasionally though.....
  11. *nods* yeah, more or less... Look at the bright side though folks, at least when the team picked Muse for Alena it isn't Exogenesis!
  12. Just laugh them off and report seen tweet+block the user for extra relief :þ Oopsie....
  13. ...yet another face for Yuzumoji here?
  14. ...did they forget that Nathan got curls? . It honestly turned me into that angry cactus for a bit but eventually I just laughed it off... It ends up looking just sad to see them reaching that hard *shrugs* ...and it isn't like Nathan is completely injury free for his whole career. There was that time where he had hip injury in his last junior season (if I am not mistaken). Stupid question abound it is 1.00 PM in Japan time, yeah? I just hope someone will capture the video and post it afterwards, with translations and all... Glad to be watered lately these days... Turns out we don't have to run dry for that long huh
  15. I think I am still(?) a happy cactus though I occasionally become angry cactus when I see some $&@f# on the FS tag in any socmed I am on although I don't have any Pooh, nor Yuzu mooks (maybe I should get a Pooh stat? ) ...anyhow, I guess I am already resigned to the possibility that it might be one heck of a long drought™ . I'll cope somehow...
  16. If I were him I would perhaps only shave the hair close to the neck, and (maybe) keep the rest long (...alright maybe I'd shorten it a wee bit, but yeah...) I am more bothered by the long hair closer to the neck rather than the bangs
  17. Hi Sammie! Hope your health only getting better going forward , take it easy with the catching up...
  18. ...of course he wants to repopulate Planet Hanyu as quickly as possible ...though this got me wondering if one of his former coaches often did this to him (seems to me to be the case — or else this really is his personal quirk )
  19. ....Origin and LGC kun....
  20. I know the topic is already pages behind but in case Yuzu wants to upgrade his style game (if ever), he can start with wearing more stylish jackets — that bomber jacket he wore for the 仙台巡り photoshoot? Already a good step. He can keep wearing plain white t-shirt (in case he is reluctant to wear regular shirts more frequently) while wearing a better outerwear style-wise. And he doesn't have to change into this style every day, he can just wear it every now and then, until he feels comfortable about it and perhaps ready to upgrade it even further... I know this is a long shot but a girl can dream...
  21. Oooh they used the HYK photo for the article — not too HQ but good pick nonetheless As for the "Star only in (insert region)" statement, while that might sound annoying to us fans, I still think that it's a fair assessment. Yes, his influence has spread far and wide but since FS is a niche sport it can be a bit hard to feel his hegemonic dominance from outside the sphere of influence. But maybe I thought too well of SZ on that part :)) (let's face it, just the fact that SZ cared enough to put him in in the list is good enough for me already) *Then again, if you take Asia to be from Turkey to Japan, and from Mongolia to Indonesia (instead of the immediate sphere of China-Japan-Korea), then that's undoubtedly a wide sphere of influence, half of the world already (but I am no cartographer, don't take my word on that one! ;Þ )
  22. Keiji is the detective part — yeah, 刑事(けいじ)(keiji) means detective (or police inspector). One other instance I ever came across was when I found out that Lieutenant Columbo is translated into 刑事コロンボ (inspector Columbo). Keiji fans has even called him deka (short from "detective") Tanaka during competitions
  23. I'm glad that he let us know, most of the time we can only assume that he reads (and knows) all that are posted on the internet...
  24. I wish you swift way to recovery , hope everything will be well again soon
  25. This is such a beautiful thing to write down, I really felt* what you meant with the beauty of the flower. Amidst all the chaos to be able to still witness Yuzu's skating is such a privilege to have
