  1. Look at our very own beauty blogger!
  2. Is this the price that has to be paid in order to make Yuzu unhide himself?? Also I hope Jun's alright, what with his feet condition from what we last heard from him
  3. If it were up to me though I would definitely drag him to the bestest bespoke tailor there is (in Japan at least :þ) (what an original thought :þ), or have those athletes who have their suits bespoke (I heard king Kohei has his suit bespoke? Hmmm) nudge him to make a suit bespoke for him
  4. Allow me to get for a bit... The first time I saw Matteo at the Olympics I didn't pay him much attention, but with the way he has developed (and with his recent FS showing at the Universiade) he came under my radar of skaters I keep my watch on, and I think I should continue to do so going forward . Another musical skater I could think of is Donovan Carillo, who while hasn't gotten all the technical skills down yet, is already so engaging as a performer. I don't really have more to add on this discussion but as has been pointed out, there are young skaters out there that still care about showing the best performance, which consists of attention to musicality and doing your best to show what the skate is about. (Obviously (most of) their performances (still) pale in comparison to current Yuzu's performance quality which just shows us how special is Yuzu in this regard , but on their own they are quite good, and it will be interesting to see how they will develop further...)
  5. Yeah, that's what I knew too from her IG posts — she was at TCC and then left to go to Cirque de Soleil...
  6. Wait.... So Lyubov Ilyushechkina hasn't retired yet? I thought she completely focuses on training (and other things) since this season?
  7. An EX I hope, or perhaps even a special show set in ice shows (FaOI, CiONTU, or any other ice shows he is in). One may hope.... Also come to think of it, it is indeed sad to think that we have only watched his current programs three times in total ;_;
  8. There there, to calm things down let's have Yuzu from GPF 2015 gala dancing, air guitaring, and mouthing Queen's Don't Stop Me Now, incredibly courteous and dorky at the same time
  9. In The Loop podcast just made an episode about the John Coughlin case. A bit late but I think considering the manner of the discussion within the podcast (review and all) I think it came in just the right time, with enough distance from the events and clarity to view it. https://castbox.fm/vb/132914170 Transcript: https://www.inthelopodcast.com/news/2019/03/01/episode-27-transcript So, several points worth noting: John Coughlin was just alleged at that point of the suspension, it was only about to be investigated whether he was really a sexual abuser. Given this, it became understandable why coaches and skaters close to him defended him vehemently — since they thought that he was innocent and the accusers smeared his reputation with the accusations. Most who made tribute posts to John/posted condolensces to social media/etc. doesn't necessarily mean they defended his misconducts — this got ridiculously easy to lose in the heat of the moment. The people closest to John though — the ones who defended him vehemently — sent the message to the accusers (ie. victims) that their experience didn't matter, and that's not a good thing to say the least. Sexual abuses in the skating environment, especially involving minors, should definitely never happen again in the future. How could it be prevented? By recognizing how it had previously happened. How to found that out? By investigating the case thoroughly. The victims definitely need closure — what I am genuinely curious about is, especially with John Coughlin already passed away — what are the things necessary to do (especially related to the investigation) to bring the victims closure? (I am talking not only about therapy for the victims, but also other things...) Quite off the tangent but, cancel culture is cringeworthy :v I know the podcast and this post serve only as a summary of sorts for this case — hopefully it gives a better understanding of the situation.
  10. See, this is why I am convinced that Yuzu is a time lord!
  11. Looking at this really feels like looking at a paranormal activity/alien sighting footage
  12. Alternatively we can make a vetting process to make sure that every researcher/photographer/explorer/visitor to Antarctica is a Fanyu, hence 100% Fanyu penetration in Antarctica
  13. I just want to add this after reading all of (if not most) comments here about Russian Worlds contingent: If Rusfed thinks their three ladies spots are safe no matter whom they sent, they have to think again. Also come to think of it, it's a bit weird of Rusfed to let their "weakness" shows like this — why even do this if it only worsens your *reputation* (if there's still any, that is ;v)
  14. "Not to be outdone by the Celestial Sakura Fairy Maiden™, Nobu decided to become the Heavenly Celestial Maiden of the Rejuvenation Realm..."
  15. Or just get a plushie dog? Easier to maintain
  16. For Worlds team, I of course wish that Zhenya can make the team, though I definitely won't hold my breath for it — I feel pretty much resigned about it as long as they don't send Stasya (now that's madness I tell you!) to Worlds — I won't think too much of it
  17. Akita dogs can grow real big, I think they can measure up to 70 cms (toe to shoulder) for male dogs and 64 cms for female dogs once matured :o :o
  18. As for the 4S size being smaller than 3A, it's pretty plausible to me, since the energy needed for the rotation of a quad is "taking" more on the energy needed for the translational jump, and this is the norm across all skaters. So yeah, if you see someone's jump got even bigger as they add one more rotation, you are looking at a unicorn...
  19. The thing is, if you are talking about comparing accuracy(: closeness of the measuring instrument's result to the actual measurand value — in this case, Yuzu's jump), you can't even compare two different measuring systems (at least that's what I see here with the Dataman and the twitter measurement — can anyone check if the measurement system is really identical?). If you are comparing two different measurement systems, then what you do is measure one thing (which has known value(: in this case Yuzu's jump distance)) with those two different systems and compare which one has the closest result to the known value. Yes, it is a comparison, those two instances, but don't call it accuracy comparison, because accuracy comparison doesn't work that way. Sorry for being pedantic, but as someone who learned measurement theory during undergrad and grad study I felt the need to point that out. Also, for what its worth, both measurement instances could be both accurate or inaccurate, there's no telling — we don't know the exact distance or height from those moments.
  20. ....but these are two different instances? I mean, for what it's worth, both measurement could actually be accurate enough, and the second measurement doesn't necessarily invalidate the first one (it can really be that Yuzu happened to jump bigger on the second instance compared to the first instance). I'd really like to know the measurement setup for ice scope...
  21. ...dangit, I forgot to account for his kuyashisa — makes for better shenanigans though 😏
  22. Okay, this bit of info is *reassuring* to know
  23. He might not drink but that doesn't mean no shenanigans wouldn't happen at. all. ...and while we are at it let's have other Cricket boys (Jason, Jun, Javi too) in tow as well
  24. Unrelated to Gracie's issue but I didn't know she has a twin sister but that bit on her father's though, yikes... I didn't follow her closely either but when you were only vaguely aware of her condition after 2015/16 season, by the time the Olys season came I think that assumption (ie. she, as a US athlete, still counts in the race for the gold in the next Olys) from the reporter is understandable :v :þ Here's to hoping she makes it through the recovery well, it is a long way ahead. You can do it Gracie
