If the rumors are true, at the very least, it looks like Plush is following through with his promises. Seems weird that she was the only one without sponsors before and then she gets them when she's injured and her future is more in doubt I'm curious if Yagudin's grudge against Plush will carry over into his commentary.

I agree that the Nishikawa promotion is distasteful. But I admit that I'm a sucker even when I know I'm being suckered. I'm glad someone else doesn't like those Peyton paintings. The Chopin one is ok but I think the practice one that is so prominently displayed is ugly and I can't get past the fact that it looks so little like him. I guess I do like that it introduces Yuzu to people who might not normally know who he is so I'm slightly less annoyed if there's at least some benefit to Yuzu (unlike with those #$@! Disney crooks!)

Depending on the cost, I would probably buy the pillow a couple times to try to get the Yuzu merch. I would only buy the mattress if I needed a new mattress and I liked theirs - but I would at least check it out when I normally wouldn't have. Crazy Fanyu confession: when I heard that Yuzu *might* be the spokesperson for Panasonic, I researched the best Panasonic TV's. This is a Samsung household but I wanted to be able to say - "I bought a Panasonic TV because Yuzu endorses it" btw, do you think it is unethical to buy fanart? There's someone on Facebook that makes these adorable Yuzu dolls and I want to offer to buy some but I think it's illegal since it uses his image and obviously I would offer enough to compensate for the time she put into making it, which means she'd be making a profit. However, this isn't taking any income away from Yuzu himself. But I guess there's a danger of encouraging selling his image... okay, I suppose I kind of know that this might be shady but I really, really want one ... on the other hand, is it any different than Elizabeth Peyton making money off of her Yuzu paintings?

i admit to being an ugly American. If there weren’t travel restrictions, i absolutely would follow Yuzu to competition if I had a shot at getting a ticket. I follow all the restrictions and get annoyed at all the selfish people whining about masks, but i was planning on going to Montreal worlds, Autumn Classic, Skate Canada, and Stockholm worlds. when i realized the fall events were likely going to be cancelled, I looked up how much tickets to Australia would cost. Literally the only thing that was stopping me is because I can’t. And now, because Yuzu won’t be there. i’m just a middle class income; but i live below my means and budget for these luxuries. i’m not particularly clever; there are a lot of Fanyus in similar situation as me not to mention those who actually are high income. Then there are all the media and staff that show up for Yuzu. At Skate Canada last year, the flight attendant said it was the busiest day in the airport’s history. My cab driver said that every hotel was booked and Skate Canada saved a lot of Kelowna businesses’ year. These CSG’s of the world just love twisting things around to try to rationalize their hate. It’s obvious that Yuzu taking part in competition increases the likelihood of the spread, especially if he went to Canada (NHK might sell out without him, but at least the audience is more likely to be local without him there)

The main thing is I hope he is healthy and happy no matter what happens from here on out. But I'm also impressed with the level of power move he is making. The fact that he announced this decision on the day that the ISU is supposed to make their decisions on the Grand Prix sends a clear message by not allowing them to milk his fame for money at the expense of safety. He's being a real example for the community.

What do people mean by "test" event? Is it just an opportunity for skaters to see what a venue is like or does it have a real impact on qualification or something? Either way, I think it makes more sense for a "test" even to be an event in which the most possible number of skaters have an opportunity to try it out.

eh. while I agree that some women are certainly able to land big jumps at a later age, I doubt it'll be Bradie. When I saw her at Skate Canada, I distinctly recall thinking her jumps are on the small side and she's a chronic under rotater. Even if she's able to make it past the quarter, I think she normally lands at least somewhat short and if she can't fully rotate a triple, I don't see her rotating a 3 axel, which is the hardest jump to cheat. Though if the proposed changes to the competition format actually go through, we likely could see longer skating careers. Good for her for sort of landing it at a later age, but frankly, the only good thing I can say about it is that she managed to stay upright on one foot. Properly scored, this "3" axel should get about the same points as a good 2 axel. But who am I kidding, she'll probably get the "q" rather than the < it deserves. One of the comments said that she's adding a 2 toe to it, which makes me think she's planning it for competition. Based on the quality, I would say the lack of GOE makes it not worth the risk, but based on how judging actually happens and the fact that she isn't really a contender anyway, I guess it's smarter to just go for it. But Alysa Liu is unlikely to keep her "quads" or even "3 axel" through puberty so maybe Amber has an outside shot at national champ if she adds the 3 axel (q) + 3 axel (q)/2 toe. Even flawed, she'll be able to add a lot to her BV. btw, the more Meagan Duhamel writes, the less I like her. She seriously thinks this is one of the best 3 axels she's ever seen? Isn't she training to be on the technical panel or something? No wonder scoring is in the state it's in.

I'm disgusted with this decision, especially since I have a feeling that it is largely motivated by the Fed from my corner of the world which is also doing one of the crappiest jobs of handling the pandemic. I actually like the white one... from behind. If you mentally block out the orange frills, he looked great in the costume - perfect fit and white makes him look ethereal. I saw a pic of Aladdin in black and white and it actually looks decent. It's the cheap looking material and the odd colors that are ruining it. I'm starting to think xylitol is trolling us - one glaring detail keeps ruining the costumes and I just don't see how no one on the team can see it. But yeah - totally agree about the photoshop. Why do they feel a need to mess with the face that attracted all his fans in the first place?

I was intellectually offended about the Skate Canada practices so I didn't buy any worlds tickets for Montreal but as the months passed and after I had that amazing experience in Skate Canada, I found myself regretting missing a life opportunity more than anything so I scrambled and settled for a lot of less than optimal situations to see Yuzu again. I wasn't even considering Stockholm a month ago but now all I feel is the overwhelming weight of time passing and opportunities dwindling. But this is the perspective of someone who's held back and missed so many life opportunities her whole life as she enters middle age. I totally understand where everyone else is coming from and I feel the moral outrage as well, but at this time in life, I feel the need to make the most of life's opportunities where I can and, realistically, the Olympics are out of reach and most athletes don't retire at the post Olympic worlds so this is the last chance to see him at a really big event. However, as soon as he retires, ISU and NBC aren't getting a penny from me. If I didn't know that it was so difficult to get tickets to even shows in Japan, I would follow him on tour like with concerts instead of spending money on ISU events

Random thought: Doesn't the ESPN Fame 100 usually come out in March? Yuzu was 70 in 2018. 64 in 2019. Will the Google year in search boost his ranking this year? I still don't really get the search score metric. It seems that higher is better but there's some athletes that are really high on the list with a low search score and others that are really low that have a high search score.

Unfortunately if you want good seats, you're stuck paying for all event tickets and if I'm spending that much to go to Sweden, I wouldn't settle for crappy seats. Just a few months ago I was debating whether I should spend money on tickets to Montreal because the tickets were so expensive and now I'm contemplating spending even more to go to Sweden for worlds! What has he done to me?!? My biggest fear is that I'll spend $3-4k and he won't be there for some reason. But I guess it will give more time for sight seeing since I won't care about the practices.

If Yuzu continues next year, I’m planning to do this again for the major events and events Yuzu enters. The tentative schedule is Autumn Classic (assuming he enters again), the Grand Prix, Euros, 4CC, Worlds, and WTT. Possibly even Russia and JPN Nats but I can see how that might be a bit of an overwhelming commitment. Let me know if you have any ideas for improvement. If the questions are too hard or too many or the schedule too long and causing you to not enjoy the game as much, let me know.

Lol. This discussion reminds me of a conversation I had with my gaming group on Friday. Me: looking at Yuzu pics instead of paying attention to the game. Husband: Yes, but still convinced that he's lying about not wearing makeup. Me: Shows friend different pictures of Yuzu. Friend: "I see contour" Me: "There's no way he could be wearing makeup.
