I'm at the bar with a friend but couldn't resist looking at the video even though 8 can't hear the music. Not what I expected but looking forward to seeing it with audio

I'm starting to think that Jimin will go to military last just so he can be there for all the guys' events. Kind of sad for Jin - he'll be alone when he's doing the promos for his album and he'll probably have the longest time for his solo period. A Dispatch reporter tweeted that Jimin is going to NY to work with JK, but I think that's just his speculation. I think this may be the cutest meme to come from the teaser. That smile is adorable

Was anyone else wondering who the heck she is? I guess she's the winner of one of those reality talent shows. I'm pretty out of the loop with pop culture but from what I can tell, she hasn't had notable success outside her city. https://www.biglatto.com/ https://www.mylifetime.com/shows/the-rap-game/season-1 It looks like we need to get our hands on the Filipino version of the book

lol. I think that's the best edit so far. The juxtaposition of Jin frantically eating with those puffed out cheeks amidst the serious atmosphere.

I redid my daily streaming Youtube list to include more videos instead of just the ones we're trying to push now that I think only a limited # of total daily views counts. It ended up with 41 videos, which is still a fraction of BTS/member solo discography. The playlist of BlackPink music videos from their official channel only has 17 videos, which includes both the group and solo videos. I'm not familiar enough with them to be sure, but considering this is their official channel, it makes me think that this is the entirety of their official videography It's looking like BTS's numbers are mainly hobbled by how prolific they are and the fact that they don't do any manipulative tactics like moving them to a category with more views. I realized that right after I redid my daily streaming playlist I love the song and video but I don't want to have to run to my player every time it's on queue

Now that I think about it, I suppose technically L & R also portrayed a relationship. But I think this is a case of fans hearing what they want to hear. To me, it's very clearly "catch" your waist, but I guess we'll see on Thur night
-
It looks like the music video will portray a relationship. That in itself is a little surprising

I'm not sure if it's just who I follow or what, but I don't get nearly as many Hobi updates as Jin updates.
-
btw, this theory would explain the odd streaming patterns on Youtube. For months, I was confused as to why the streaming rate on the older videos remained so similar while the newer videos' numbers didn't go up nearly as quickly as before. It totally makes sense that old views would have a more steady streaming patterns, but if views are getting limited to 4-5 plays, then of course, we can't power stream like we did in the olden days I'm pretty sure I'm the only one that follows it, but I just updated Youtube streaming numbers on our spreadsheet. I guess not many people liked Amygdala - it has <1mil streams/month. Left and Right is still the most played solo video at 9.68M views and Set Me Free and Like Crazy both 9+ M views. Looks like Blood, Sweat, & Tears and Butter will both hit the 1billion view club in ~14months ETA: just looked at BlackPink's views and the Blinks have figured something out that we haven't. I know they have a much smaller discography to stream so it's easier and I read that they first put their videos in a different category before moving to music to get more views, but does this account for Jisoo somehow getting 321 million views for Flower while Yet to Come, which was released 2 months earlier, only has 191 million views? I guess Army has been working on a lot of projects, but the simple fact that JK and Jimin and "Boy With Luv" are all getting 9M+ views a month is evidence that Army is just less cohesive.
-
I don't get as crazy as a lot of Army's - just have 1 account/platform - but it's fun to feel like you're part of something big For charts, this site is really good https://kworb.net/ww/ IKR? He looks so sexy and badass with that hair

Loving Chris more and more. I wonder what all those Coldplayers that aren't Army are thinking of Chris and Wotteo. This person doesn't seem to know the name And now that we have a major event on Thur night/Fri morning, just wanted to remind you about streaming/buying guidelines. 1. I looked it up, and the speculation is that now Youtube only counts 4-5 plays from the same account, but we don't know for sure. 2. Billboard gives higher weights to radio play/on demand paid subscriptions to streaming platforms. (which just shows how much of their lists is just about making companies more money rather than about reflecting true popularity of an artist/song) 3. Speculation is that only 20 Spotify plays a day/per account counts towards the charts, although any excess counts toward the artist personal counts. 4. Only 1 download per email address per streaming platform is counted - speculation is that Billboard is going by IP addresses rather than actual e-mail DO NOT DOWNLOAD FROM ARTIST SITE. Although, I suppose ultimately profit is more important than charts (which is really just a tool to generate buzz) so up to you what you prioritize 5. I don't see a date on this article, but according to this site, these are the streaming platforms that count towards charts https://btsx50states.com/charting-education/streaming/ 6. ETA: according to a Drake fan, Army was struggling (before Jimin hit #1) because we weren't prioritizing itunes enough. I always feel a little silly getting swept up in these streaming battles but it's so thrilling when it works. I was rather disheartened over the Rap Line and Jin's results but I feel genuinely hopeful that JK and Tae will get those #1's

More rumors. Sometimes I think I want to try the camping thing just for the life experience but still seems crazy to do it for 5 days Wow! And OMG, RM is so sweet and wise. Putting so much thought into a message on the fly
-
I agree on both parts. Plus, it's just fodder for the hate train - if it gets #1, they're going to criticize JK for being arrogant even though he wasn't even the one that said it and claim it only got there with Payola. If it doesn't get #1, they're going to ridicule JK for "flopping". The mutual respect and warmth between Chris and BTS makes me appreciate ColdPlay's music more. Quotes from the book about Coldplay

Jin got an early promotion to Special Class - Elite Warriors https://www.allkpop.com/article/2023/07/jin-gets-promoted-to-the-special-class-elite-warriors and just a couple other military tidbits

More Twitter speculation. Is Tae collaborating with Billie Eilish? It seems improbable that he'd be collaborating with both Gaga and Billie in such a short period of time. I'm trying to remember if he's tagged female musicians that weren't associated with BTS in some way.

Gosh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you. I'm just idly speculating about the behind the scenes motives. I also idly speculate about what their shoe sizes are. I didn't know that Scooter was involved with JK but not with any of the group projects, especially since he did the creepy alpha dog ownership pose with them at the White House. I don't understand why Hybe wouldn't want to utilize all the resources for all their big projects. Scooter is slimy, but he slimes his artists to the top so if you're going to dirty your hands anyway, you may as well get the most out of him. I'm mostly looking at how much pre-release hype there's been and am wondering how it would have impacted the sales of the other projects - most of the other projects mostly relied on the fan base to push it whereas anyone following Scooter or Geffen is going to hear about this track. I'm reading about these radio stations pushing it and since that's the primary thing holding BTS back on the charts, I'm wondering if they're doing something different this time around. I truly hope that JK gets that #1 and can hold it. IMO, we should support their solo projects as much as possible, not only for them as individuals because all their individual successes will contribute to the success of the group. I also don't think JK has any intention of the solo work being anything other than a side project. I get the feeling the only way that Jimin and JK will ever leave the group is if the rest of the group forcibly boots them out of the nest. We also have to keep in mind that Hybe/Geffen may just be experimenting and trying to figure things out - which I'm glad to see because up til now, it seems like it's mostly the fans that have been doing the pushing and Billboard keeps changing the rules so that fans have less and less control over who they decide is the most popular (because the opinions of 1000 radio stations is more meaningful than millions of fans ). Each of the promos have been slightly different. Hobi was probably largely crippled by going 1st and Jin's project was maybe too sudden, though I thought Chris Martin said that Jin contacted them about the song months earlier - although that would have been before the labels realized exactly how big their solo projects would be and so likely didn't have a game plan. It's possible, the labels changed their game plans as each solo project got more and more momentum. Did you ladies see this? JK is so thoughtful. Does anyone understand why Yoongi is just empty clothes in a chair? ETA: when you make your JK playlist, include "Respect". Apparently it's the only one from Map of the Soul: 7 that doesn't have 100 million streams on Spotify. And Blood, Sweat, & Tears is 59 Million away from 1 billion on Youtube

On one hand, I'm once again befuddled by the effort put into promoting JK - seemingly even more than BTS as a group. On the other hand, this is a really great idea It's funny how all the comments are "this is nice, but restock "Seven" CD"
-
The song isn't to my taste but it looks like the collab is paying off. TBH, I find that collabs often sound more like B side tracks but I get why that happens. Normally, both sides dilute a little bit of themselves to work with the other. TXT is certainly capable of more vocally. I don't know much about the Jonas Brothers. But it's good for both of them to combine forces with another powerful fandom.
-
It looks like this is going to be big. I hope I'm not hyping myself up to be disappointed by Billboard finding another way to drop them from the charts. I've never heard of the global Spotify Viral 100 chart I'm still hanging out on my computer. You want to get an episode or 2 in before dinner with your mom?

Not sure who's coming, but the room for Run is ready. I'll start when the first person shows up https://w2g.tv/?r=yq7y14k2w5u4o4vqwh ETA: doesn't look like anyone is coming so closing the room
-
It's interesting that they're pushing so much harder with this promo than the other guys. It seems like they're trying to make JK the breakout worldwide solo artist like Justin Timberlake and Harry Styles.
-
Looks Army is getting psyched up and ready. Curious how far they'll be able to push JK on the charts with current rules Guessing this is on the main thread, but just in case, look who's on Gucci's instagram? Make sure you hit the like https://www.instagram.com/stories/highlights/17872370978884354/

Just posting this because it's cute. Them showing us their unkempt state makes me love them more. Tae looks so young in this pic lol. Loving all the memes from JK's last live
-
aww... adorable I don't see the Jin/Jisoo resemblance at all but I can definitely see the resemblance on this one. With those huge eyes and rounded noses and cheeks, and delicate lips, they both have such a cute vibe and these tweets have a few tidbits that I haven't seen before. TBH, I didn't think Jin became really handsome until his mid-twenties but I guess in person, he made quite an impression
-
Nah... as soon as Beyonce, Taylor, Harry, or some other big Western artists is ready to make a release, Billboard will change their rules back again. Just love how Billboard timed this rule change right after JK's single was announced and how the other rule change was right after Jimin got #1
