It makes total sense to me. It's sort of like how Nathan can do quads but he skates like a truck driver roller blading through mud. Jin is actually very flexible while Hobi is average to above average in flexibility. But Jin appears extremely stiff while dancing while Hobi is the personification of fluidity. The difference is that Hobi's fundamentals are so much better. Just like Hobi is never going to be the contemporary dancer that Jimin is and Jimin won't be the street dancer that Hobi is, in spite of them both being insanely talented dancers. They've both spent years perfecting the fundamentals of their particular craft and it affects all their movements. I'm curious how it'll go. Suga took similar classes and his dancing looks amazing now (it always was pretty good though so he doesn't have as far to go as RM). Otoh, for many people, it's harder to break a habit than it is to form a new one and the first step in RM's lessons is going to be breaking 10 years of doing it the "wrong" way. a rant about the fandom under spoiler

I love the little soldier charm on his bag and the cutesy decorations. His skin looks beautiful too and I like the little extra weight on him. I'm still trying to figure out the whole Special Warrior thing. I keep reading on Twitter that only Jin and one other idol got it. But I also read that EXO's Chanyeol got it and others got "Special Forces", which I guess might be a different thing? Either way, it looks like this was a goal for them heading in so here's hoping that Hobi gets it whenit's his time.

Rocky really is freakin adorable - I looked at a lot of Pom pics and I think Yeontan and Rocky are 2 of the cutest. I'd be ecstatic if my dog got chosen to hang out with V. Here's the Instagram post from the owner.

Anyone else scrutinizing every picture of Yeontan now? After @Luminous pointed out what to look for, I think Yeontan is pretty distinctive looking but I still double check to make sure we're not getting cat fished.

Unfortunately no. My best guest is that maybe it's a behind the scene from Rookie King? It's early in their career and it has that silly vibe but I don't remember it from the actual show I can't tell by the tweet what it's from, but yes, normally when V wins them, it's a public opinion poll since those tend to be the result of a combination of popularity + physical traits. The exception is specifically in Korea or Japan - Cha Eunwoo normally wins in Korea and Jin often wins in Japan. Any time it's decided by some sort of algorithm, scientific standard, or comparing to classical beauty standards, Jin always wins. When it's a staff pick, I think JK usually wins. Other times it's just an individual's ranking, in which case it could be any one of them. But I'm always thrilled whenever RM and Hobi get picked high no matter what the method since their self esteem spent so many years getting the beat down over their looks. So sad that Rapmon died. He wasn't that much younger than the average life expectancy for an American Eskimo but it's always crushing to lose a pet. My first cat got cancer when he was only 8 years old and I bawled my eyes out. Honestly, the pets are the thing that make me the saddest about military enlistment. The members seem like they've always accepted enlistment. The fans have plenty of content. But to the pets, their humans are the center of their world and they're losing them for a large percentage of their life. I remember Jin talking about crying when he got the call about Jjangu dying while he was on the road and I think bout how old Mickey is and there's a good chance he might die while Hobi is in the military. I would be so incredibly sad to think my pet died thinking that I had abandoned him.

Wow! congrats and I'm impressed that you can remember the day. I can't remember the exact date - I should have written it on the calendar but I didn't know it would have been so momentous at the time. It was either the very end of September or beginning of October because I remember it was nearing the end of BTS's Fallon week in 2020 - luckily I at least remembered the event so I can google my anniversary. I like to work with Youtube on in the background and I was busy so when the Youtube algorithm chose them, I left it on. "On" at Grand Central station hooked me then "Carpool Karaoke" cemented my love. I guess I'm a stereotypical Westerner because Namjoon was the first one to capture my heart. I could immediately tell he was highly intelligent and as a sapiosexual, that was highly engrossing and then I started watching videos one after the other. Lol, I wasn't very productive the entire months of October and November. ETA: this is extra notable because it was tweeted by the World Music Awards ETA 2: and this just made me laugh

SBS, they look quite different. I guess the coloring of the video helped cover up that Rocky's tan colors are darker than Yeontan's. I'm so impressed that @Luminous caught so many differences between them just from the video. My reaction was more like - I know they're different, but I can't really put my finger on why. Rocky is freaking adorable though. I wonder if he's full grown. He still has a puppy like quality to him. But I remember Tae was playing with a white Pom and being surprised that she was fully grown because she was so much smaller than Yeontan. I like when animals have that little chest that puffs out - my cat Happy has a protruding bone there and we think it's just the cutest thing how he always looks so proud of himself. And I guess Yeontan doesn't really have a resting bitch face. I just thought he did because all the meme's show him looking judgmental. Happy go lucky Yeontan is just as cute as bitchy Yeontan. ETA: did you guys see that the view points on Youtube for Tae's Love Me Again are getting credited to another artist? I saw it on Facebook rather than Twitter. And I tried to add Tae's songs to my playlists on Spotify and they're not coming up. I get podcasts instead?

This made me look up Pomeranians. I had no idea they varied so much in appearance. Tae was pretty lucky to find one that was so similar in color and markings. Tannie really is an extra cute one - I love his resting b#tch face. btw, turns out that Jennie also has a Pomeranian. If you believe the rumors, I could easily see them bonding over them. (Not to be shallow, but Tannie is miles cuter than hers)

And this one made me tear up. Not only because Tae is crying but because it reflects how much all the members truly love and care about one another.

I almost forgot about the new video Bad Army! I wonder what's with the sad love songs? I know he didn't write these so I'm assuming he just likes the style. Or did he pick songs that reflect his life? lol, the TaeJiners like that the video includes a painting of an Alien. So funny that Tae paints it with a baguette. Somehow I can see him actually doing that. So cute that he went through the effort of including a fake Yeontan. I guess he didn't want Yeontan to have to travel? Though I thought he's traveled with him before? ETA: I'm getting a sense that Tae's album is going to be like Hobi's, though in a completely different style of music. It seems like it'll be comprised of a bunch of simple songs that are more like movements of a big whole like classical music.

The song is lovely. Too simple to be a breakout track but a beautiful intro to the album. I hope we get a song at the bottom of his range since we never get to hear it. I know I'm in the minority, but I hate the styling. I like the silhouettes and how they show off his body lines, but the colors and materials aren't quite right for me..

OMG! You got to see all 3 shows? I'm burning with envy. I'm still hoping DJ Jino will watch on his channel so I can watch at a time that works for me. Been super busy (... just took over both my husband and Mother-in-law's finances in addition to working on personal goals) The one down side of Tae releasing his album so soon other than the finances, is that I was hoping to see how many weeks JK could stay #1 on global charts. Currently, Harry Styles has the record with 15 weeks on the Global 200 and 13 weeks on Global excl. US. But apparently Oliva Rodrigo is releasing a song The first thing I thought was "Tae looks like one of those TXT kids". Of course, Tae still looks beautiful, but I think Tae is the only member that I think looks better with shorter hair. I adore that he's chosen to promote with Yeontan.

I think we saw this coming but it's no less heart wrenching. I know it's an honor to be compared to MJ and I'm happy for them because I'm sure that's how they take it, but I've always hated it because Michael's always given me the squicks and I don't like to think of our guys that way. Is there something other than JK's album? Do you have him twice just because of whatever the title track will be coming from it?

OMG! that nonchalant expression on his face. He's SO cute and hot I used to think it was just an expression when people say their hearts were fluttering. But I literally feel a twinge in my chest when I look at him. I felt like I was on the verge of a heart attack when I saw him in concert.

I made the mistake of peeking at the Planet thinking it would be the usual few posts and then I could fall back asleep. I should have known that Yoongi would have surpassed all my expectations. I didn't realize that the pass was for all 3 shows. I'm so Weverse stupid I was on the verge of tears just reading the posts. I can't imagine how emotional it was for all of you who got to see it live. Curse my fragile body I'm so envious of @rockstaryuzu that she can get by on so little sleep. I so want to watch this last show. So Tae didn't perform at all? I'm so happy that Hobi and Jin found time to get together with everyone. RIP sleep. I'm too excited to roll over now.

Am I the only one that doesn't see how plans have changed? I thought Namjoon said that they'd get back together "some time" in 2025. And Hybe made that statement that essentially said "sh!t happens. Might be 2026". It seems to me that the plans were always somewhat fluid. Theoretically, the last one could go in June of 2024 and they'd still be able to reunite "some time" in 2025. It seems to me that the whole point of staggering them like this was so that they wouldn't lose momentum while they're in the military so my guess is that they always planned to do some sort of activity until at least the last quarter of 2025. I suspect that the only big change in plans was that Namjoon decided to wait longer to enlist, but it may be that he was always working on this 2nd album so even that might not have been a change in plans. The other bonus of them being staggered is that none of them will have to spend the entire time in the military without seeing another one. It doesn't look like they get to serve in the same squad and I imagine that it's difficult to line up time off so it would be hard for them to visit each other if they were all serving at the same time.

Why am I so busy this month?!?

I concur. I imagine the new contract will allow more individual freedom and likely more of the profits. They each have different goals but they love each other and understand that their individual successes have been extensions of their work together. I wouldn't be surprised if Jin decided to use extra free time to do something outside of entertainment as he seems least interested in solo spotlight, although I still really hope he gets cast in a Disney musical or something - his looks, aura, and voice are perfect for that genre. I know he said at one point that he wasn't interested in acting anymore, but last year he told an actor "if I act one day, I want to act like you" so I'm still holding out hope. JK will keep working on being a "huge pop star" and the rest will follow their musical passion projects while also doing side projects. It's crazy how many people on Twitter are telling Tae to leave the company for being mistreated - huh? He's arguably the most popular member! - and what company is he going to have more power in? I was watching this video and thought, now that they're in Chapter 2, this should be a new Run BTS episode ... not seriously, but can you imagine the melt down they and the fans would have? ETA: btw, I found out that there were other idols that have gotten Special Warrior. Maybe the original article I read was old or I read it from a misinformed Tweet or something
