lol, I feel slow. I was so confused by "Armypots". Turns out Latto's fandom name is "Jackpots" and she was combining the fandoms, which I find cute. While I'm still a bit irked that some factions of society get away with their racism without consequences and how casual people are about racism against Asians in general, I guess it's best to just write off her own racist comments as youthful indiscretion (though it would be nice if she could make some sort of statement apologizing). She and most of her fans have been so sweet toward JK and Army and it's nice whenever collaborating artists show true gratitude. Twitter Army needs to remember that it's best to be kind to other fandoms (yes, even Blinks) - it's the best kind of promo for our guys. Lol, I need to learn how to make emojis. This is so cute ETA: and let's not forget RM's achievement this week

I thought he would get it because I think all the predictions were based on Kworb, which doesn't include Amazon/Pandora/Facebook, but I was SOOO nervous. I don't know if I feel more relieved or joyful. JK isn't even one of my top 3 favorite members but I wanted this so much for him. I think Latto and Cardi B's fandoms really pulled their weight for this effort. Obviously it's a small fraction of Army's numbers, but it was probably the difference with the super tight race for number 1. In a way, I hope their fandoms were the difference because I hate thinking that there are so many solos that it would make this big of a difference in numbers between members. If it's true that Gaga is involved, then the help of the Monsters might help push it to #1 or at least top 10. Hopefully she's also featured as I think that makes a huge difference. I think this chart highlights one of the big problems with Billboard's new rules. By weighting radio so heavily, Country music has a huge advantage because they have stations dedicated solely to that genre and pulling from a smaller pool of artists. Plus, Country is often put on other stations. I don't recall there ever being 3 country songs in the top 5 of the charts.

btw, the idol that was named "Special Warrior" before Jin is Yunho. Never heard of his group though. You would think that more would have achieved it since all Kpop idols must be extremely fit. Part of me hopes that not all the Tannies gets it because people are already accusing Jin of only getting it because of special treatment - if they all get it, it'll confirm this accusation in their minds. https://kpopherald.koreaherald.com/view.php?ud=201605101519163774683_2 And I read on Facebook that Trivia: Just Dance has surpassed 100 million streams. I *think* this means that the only song left on Love Yourself: Her that needs to get 100 million streams is Trivia: Love, but I can't figure out how to see how many streams each song has other than the 10 most popular songs by the group Last I read, "Respect" is the only song from Map of the Soul 7 to still need 100 million streams. BTS is already the first artist to achieve 4 albums to have all songs reach 100 million streams. They're really close to getting 6 albums there.

No surprise here, but it's always nice to see and it brings the support of other fandoms

You think this is enough to get him #1? Last I checked, Wallen and JK were projected to be tied in points and Aldean was way behind in radio play and streams. Wallen would have been annoying but for Aldean to get it would be really sick. in other news, another Jin update (sort of - not really but I like to see all these things):

Also tbf, we're only the largest music market that we acknowledge. I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but when you take a truly global look at things, there's no question that JK is more popular than Wallen. The real barometer is ticket sales. Nothing shows how much of a joke it is that Morgan Wallen keeps holding onto #1 than Ticketmaster. He has a concert tomorrow and it's still not sold out. Even if these seats are obstructed view/platinum seating, they would have been sold out on the presale for any of the guys. We sat next to someone who thought she bought a seat behind the stage. Sorry, I know I'm being more obsessive over this than the Blink/Army fan wars, but this particular case is really getting under my skin. https://www.ticketmaster.com/morgan-wallen-tickets/artist/2288122

a Hobi update
-
aw dang! I guess you can't win them all. In better news, another major milestone for Seven . Hopefully #1 next

Seeing him verbalize it makes me want it even more for him. I'm going to be so mad if he loses it to Morgan Wallen. I don't mean to be one of those fans that screams "fraud" any time another artist does better, but I've been highly suspicious of him for a long time. Not to mention, that it's really disturbing that he didn't rise to his current level of prominence until his drunken racist rant. It's crazy to me that he's getting so much radio support and that's the bulk of the points keeping him at the top of the charts... and why does JK only have 19M streams listed? I know it gets filtered but even with filtering it should be more than that JK's physical CD is finally back up for presale. I hope that it still counts for the charts if we pre-order it by the end of today. And I haven't heard of any limits for physical CD's for the charts. I bought my 5 versions for itunes

Random interesting stories I've seen on twitter That white gold Panther ring is cooler but crazy that a necklace that expensive could sell out in minutes and crash the sites. I thought it was odd that Jin was rumored to be Cartier's brand ambassador when it'll be so long before he could do it. V is probably a better fit for the brand. Jin has that elegant look that suits luxury brands when he tries, but it doesn't really seem like him. I wonder what Jin will get when he comes back from military. If everything goes as planned, he'll be the only available member for a while. ETA: these numbers don't seem right. Not sure if these are filtered numbers? Because other numbers listed elsewhere are a lot higher This story is probably not all that interesting, but I remember watching Lee Hyung-taek play against Sampras so it caught my eye. And this is just cute

I agree that the explicit version was probably the original but I think the clean version has more to do with radio play than the MV. To me, using "F&ck" vs. "love" every day of the week, changes the whole meaning of the song. The clean version sounds more romantic whereas the explicit is sexual. Depending on the song writer's intent, I don't think the explicit version is necessarily gratuitous because it completely changes the song's vibe. Of course, if the song writer intended it to be about romance, then it is both gratuitous and distracting. As for Latto, she's described as an "up and coming" rapper. My guess is that Scooter introduced JK to her. I'm sure JK liked it to some extent, but my guess is this is who the company is trying to push. I don't know if she, specifically, added anything to the song but the song definitely needed to have some sort of change up in the bridge as there isn't much to the song, either musically or in meaning. I'm a little sad that the hyung line didn't get as much support from either the fans or the company. But unfortunately, rap has a much smaller market than pop so I understand why they weren't as successful. D-Day was insanely successful by rap standards. It's too bad that it wasn't able to overtake Morgan Wallen (who I'm convinced was getting inflated sales from his record company - how could his album possibly been still selling that much 2 months later? I don't think even Taylor Swift was able to hold number 1 that long). The mass buying accounts weren't nearly as active when it was Hobi, Jin, or RM. I'm giving everyone the benefit of the doubt and telling myself it's just because everyone's still learning but in my experience, the benefit of the doubt is almost never warranted. Hopefully Tae and Jin will get the same support when it's their turns for official album debuts. I mean, The Astronaut is still #1 in some countries with almost no promo and not nearly the fan support - there's no reason to think that Jin and Tae couldn't make a huge impact with the right kind of promo and packaging It was reported on Twitter that his album is going to be all English so I don't have high hopes of that. That is so CUTE Stupid Scooter. Normally, I would be ecstatic about this much success but because he had to boast publicly about being #1, I feel mostly anxious until the song actually gets #1. https://kworb.net/charts/ #1 on Spotify #1 on Youtube #1 on itunes #10 on Apple Music #3 global digital artist ranking

Here's the link to the room. Going to grab coffee and brb https://w2g.tv/?r=f7bw4gxian9de3m87e

Poor JK. He's tried so hard to be seen as grown up but he's so darn cute! I just wanted to squeal and pinch his cheeks during this interview. So I guess Latto is more acclaimed than I thought. I'll have to see if anyone I know has ever heard of her. The song is growing on me as I hear it more. and I guess it is "Kiss" your waist. I really can't trust my own hearing
-
We're doing really well on itunes but not on anything else . Maybe the other platforms need time to update numbers? I noticed that The Astronaut is still the top Shazam song in some countries, most notably Japan. I wonder why Jin does so well on Shazam https://kworb.net/charts/

Tbh , i think JK's song is ok at best, but I hope it does really well I signed up for Spotify premium and Amazon Unlimited for the month. Not sure if Youtube premium is rated higher so didn't bother yet

I'm at the bar with a friend but couldn't resist looking at the video even though 8 can't hear the music. Not what I expected but looking forward to seeing it with audio

I'm starting to think that Jimin will go to military last just so he can be there for all the guys' events. Kind of sad for Jin - he'll be alone when he's doing the promos for his album and he'll probably have the longest time for his solo period. A Dispatch reporter tweeted that Jimin is going to NY to work with JK, but I think that's just his speculation. I think this may be the cutest meme to come from the teaser. That smile is adorable
-
Was anyone else wondering who the heck she is? I guess she's the winner of one of those reality talent shows. I'm pretty out of the loop with pop culture but from what I can tell, she hasn't had notable success outside her city. https://www.biglatto.com/ https://www.mylifetime.com/shows/the-rap-game/season-1 It looks like we need to get our hands on the Filipino version of the book

lol. I think that's the best edit so far. The juxtaposition of Jin frantically eating with those puffed out cheeks amidst the serious atmosphere.

I redid my daily streaming Youtube list to include more videos instead of just the ones we're trying to push now that I think only a limited # of total daily views counts. It ended up with 41 videos, which is still a fraction of BTS/member solo discography. The playlist of BlackPink music videos from their official channel only has 17 videos, which includes both the group and solo videos. I'm not familiar enough with them to be sure, but considering this is their official channel, it makes me think that this is the entirety of their official videography It's looking like BTS's numbers are mainly hobbled by how prolific they are and the fact that they don't do any manipulative tactics like moving them to a category with more views. I realized that right after I redid my daily streaming playlist I love the song and video but I don't want to have to run to my player every time it's on queue
-
Now that I think about it, I suppose technically L & R also portrayed a relationship. But I think this is a case of fans hearing what they want to hear. To me, it's very clearly "catch" your waist, but I guess we'll see on Thur night
-
It looks like the music video will portray a relationship. That in itself is a little surprising
-
I'm not sure if it's just who I follow or what, but I don't get nearly as many Hobi updates as Jin updates.
-
btw, this theory would explain the odd streaming patterns on Youtube. For months, I was confused as to why the streaming rate on the older videos remained so similar while the newer videos' numbers didn't go up nearly as quickly as before. It totally makes sense that old views would have a more steady streaming patterns, but if views are getting limited to 4-5 plays, then of course, we can't power stream like we did in the olden days I'm pretty sure I'm the only one that follows it, but I just updated Youtube streaming numbers on our spreadsheet. I guess not many people liked Amygdala - it has <1mil streams/month. Left and Right is still the most played solo video at 9.68M views and Set Me Free and Like Crazy both 9+ M views. Looks like Blood, Sweat, & Tears and Butter will both hit the 1billion view club in ~14months ETA: just looked at BlackPink's views and the Blinks have figured something out that we haven't. I know they have a much smaller discography to stream so it's easier and I read that they first put their videos in a different category before moving to music to get more views, but does this account for Jisoo somehow getting 321 million views for Flower while Yet to Come, which was released 2 months earlier, only has 191 million views? I guess Army has been working on a lot of projects, but the simple fact that JK and Jimin and "Boy With Luv" are all getting 9M+ views a month is evidence that Army is just less cohesive.
-
I don't get as crazy as a lot of Army's - just have 1 account/platform - but it's fun to feel like you're part of something big For charts, this site is really good https://kworb.net/ww/ IKR? He looks so sexy and badass with that hair
