  1. Narumi Takahashi has also retired. She has gone back to Keio Univ. at the beginning of this month. She said she wanted to accumulate more knowledge and improve her communication skills to one day support the Pairs skaters in Japan.
  2. She has already retired and started working as a choreographer. Her last competition was National Sports Festival held in January. I think they probably held a ceremony to celebrate her retirement on this day since the 2017-2018 season is officially over. This is her Instagram post after NSF. Here she says she thinks it's a nice way to retire because she could stay in the best-ever form all through the season and has no regret even though she could not win the Olympic berth.
  3. I'm wondering if it's about skating or a new wine...
  4. I've just read this on twitter. Hope Chinese fed will support Han Yan. He is such a talent. Don't want to see him stop skating because of such situation...
  5. (It's already 3rd in Japan but) Happy birthday, Stephane! Hope you'll have another beautiful year!
  6. Just sent a small donation via Paypal Thank you!
  7. Why don't you give it a try in English? It might be translated in Japanese if they share it in the show, but you might get an answer from him.
  8. Even if they won't offer an official stream there are other websites offer live streams of Japanese TV programs for people outside of Japan, so I think you'll be able to see the show with other satellites
  9. Yes, the last show of Ci will be live-broadcasted on TV Asahi 2 (the same channel on which they broadcasted FIgu-pedia and FaOI 2017) on April 15th from 13:00. http://www.tv-asahi.co.jp/ch/recommend/continueswithwings/ The show will be live broadcasted at movie theaters in Japan too. http://liveviewing.jp/contents/cww/ I doubt there will be an official online stream, though. TV Asahi 2 is a pay channel, so offering a free online stream would harm TV Asahi's profits.
  10. 11. IIRC, she has participated TCC Summer Camps at least a few times in the past since the head coach of her skating club is a friend of Brian, so it's not so surprising if she moves to TCC. Personally, I think it is more likely that she will continue to train at TCC only in summer, though. Having Seen other young Japanese ladies who moved to NA in the recent past, I think to stay in good shape in a foreign country doing everything by themselves is much more difficult than it seems.
  12. A bakery in Sendai is selling Yuzu bread So cute but I cannot buy it cause I cannot eat it nor let it mold......
  13. Jason says he started creating a new SP with Rohene.
  14. Hey Johnny, are U dusting this for by any chance?
https://www3.nhk.or.jp/news/html/20180316/k10011367971000.html 。。
  16. Some of Takahito's comments on his retirement, PyeongChang, future plans, memorable moments in his competitive career: On retirement: "This was going to be my last season from the beginning. I had been thinking that when I could skate like myself that would be the time to think about it (=retirement). At GP events at the beginning of this season, I was just helpless, but at Nationals I could finally skate like myself." (Sponichi Annex) "To be honest, I was going to conclude my competitive career at that point (when I could not get the Olympic berth). I was thinking about retiring when I wasn't selected. However, I was an alternate of the Olympic team, so I continued training. When Yuzuru finished skating his short program, I felt that my role (as the alternate) was fulfilled." (Daily Sports) "(As to Worlds in Milan) I wanted to give the opportunity to someone younger like someone gave it to me when I was younger." (Sanspo) On PyeongChan: "Both men and ladies skated really well. What he (Yuzu) achieved will have a positive effect on what we are going to do too." (Daily Sports) On his future: "As to coaching, I need to learn first, working as an assistant for a figure skating class, etc. Fortunately, I can still enjoy doing shows, so I want to try many things (e.g. skating to a music which is new for him)" (Daily Sports) (Sponichi Annex) "People think that figure skating is a special sport. We need to make some effort to make it familiar to everyone and invite more people to skate as to keep team Japan strong." (Sanspo) Memorable moments in competitive career: "Being 3rd and standing on the podium with Daisuke Takahashi at Nationals held in Sapporo (in 2012) was a good memory. Also, with the last Nationals where I could do well despite having not-so-good season prior to that, I could close my competitive career nicely." (Daily Sports) Takahito also said that he wanted to say thanks to coach Takashi Mura, his father for supporting him.
  17. @Hanmgse, @yuzuonice Thank you so much for the feedback! I'm a bit relieved because the mid part was very hard to translate because the Japanese were written in a very Japanese way (omitting subject, etc.) so I thought the translation might sound a bit funny in English. Looking forward to hearing more details on the show later!
  18. So this is why he isn't going to Worlds..... Yeah, the ex he choreographed for himself was beautiful. He can be a good choreographer for Chinese skaters for sure. I'll miss you but wishing you a best of luck on everything, Han Yan!!
  19. Message from Yuzu on CWW website: The guest skaters are those who have influenced me while I develop as a skater, and those who have passed various things on to me, not just the influences. Appreciation towards such bonds with people. No one can achieve anything alone, everyone lives because of some kind of bonds with others. Inheriting things and passing them on through skating. I hope you will enjoy the performances of the greatest skaters and feel the "inheritance". http://www.continueswithwings.com/ I love the way they put a photo of him skating Hope and Legacy under this message.
  20. A brief overview of Continues ~with Wings~ http://www.continueswithwings.com/ Date: April 13-15, 2018 Venue: Musashino-no-Mori Sogo Sports Plaza http://www.musamori-plaza.com/ Ticket: Presale --- From March 17 12:00 until March 20 23:59 (JST)/ General release --- from April 1, 10:00 (JST) Skaters: TBA As Jardin translated he won't skate since he will still be undergoing treatment and rehabilitation. However, the guest skaters are those who had influenced and pass something on to him, so the show in a way would be a treat for him since usually, he doesn't have much time to enjoy other skaters' performances during a show. TV Asahi seems to be a co-producer of the show, so chances are that one of the shows will be aired by them.
  21. Oh, so he still had his own account and apologized with them? Sorry for sharing misinformation.
  22. Chuo Koron is the publisher of Yuzu's latest book "夢を生きる" and one of their employees tweeted via his personal account that Yuzu didn't behave as a good Olympian hanging around only with his fellow countryman Shoma Uno, which wasn't true and many fans expressed their anger on their SNS. Although the guy on twitter has nothing to do with Yuzu's book itself and the book was very nicely put together by their other employees, it was sad to see someone criticize Yuzu baselessly saying he is from Chuo Koron. The guy's account got closed earlier yesterday but they took this matter seriously and officially apologized for their employee's misbehavior.
  23. I haven't watched BESP version myself, but according to this blog post, they were Simon and Chris, as you guessed. This blogger often translates their commentaries into Japanese, and in this post, you can see her translation of their commentary for Yuzu's FS, with transcription in English by her husband, which says it was Simon and Chris.
  24. One of the photos taken during PyeongChang I really really love.
