Proposed changes for next season
sweetwater replied to Yatagarasu's topic in Knickknacks: General Skating Chat
Many of these proposals seem to be meant to encourage well-balanced skaters, but some of them don't seem to work that way... They should allow repeating one type of quad. Although skaters equipped with fewer types of quads can still earn points by maximizing GOEs and PCS, it takes time to improve your overall skating skills and non-jump elements, and the BV of such elements are still not so high. Those who have fewer quads and not-so-stellar non-jump elements would choose to spend more time on acquiring a new type of quad to get a good result. Sorry for being off-current topic and replying to a post after a month, but these might be the source of these pattern dances (I'm certain about the Maple Leaf March but not fully sure about the other two): Maple Leaf March Rhumba d'Amor Tea Time Foxtrot -
He said he has been thinking about this because he was told in advance to nickname them here. He wanted to make their nicknames sound kinda similar, so he chose the names which would be transcribed with "ー" in the end, such as こー, のー, なー, みー, きー. When they were on the bus he was calling Kodaira-san "Cap", "Shusho (主将 = captain)", or "Nushi (主= master, owner)" because she was the captain of Team Japan during the Olympics, but he thought it would not be appropriate to call her with such names in daily life, so tried to find a name which would be easier to say. Thank you for sharing this! Sounds like they've got closer to each other attending Olympic-related events together

Jonetsu Tairiku is a weekly documentary series which features a person each week. It's 20 years since they started airing this show, so they featured some of the big names they covered in past 20 years in the opening of the program. Jonetsu Tairiku featured Yuzu in 2016 subbed by nonchan1023

Update on Koshiro: the same staff member of the ice rink in Okayama says he is going back to Switzerland soon. This tweet also says that the Stsq in Koshiro's new program looks pretty tough to execute.

As @Yatagarasu said, they've been airing non-Yuzu promo until the news of his participation got released. Non-Yuzu promo for the show But they are introducing so many participants in a short time so it's really tough to know who will come to Kanazawa only with this clip (More than 20 skaters are going to perform in Kanazawa) There's non-Yuzu promo for a one-day bus tour too.

A staff member of Okayama Kokusai Skate Rink recently tweeted that Koshiro visited there for the first time in a while. (Not sure whether he's still in Japan or back in Switzerland to train with Stephane) It says they had lively conversations about the skating blades produced by Takahiko Kozuka and Yuzu's 3A He's not on the list probably because he could not participate in Japanese junior nationals last November for suffering an injury. Once he gets fully recovered and gets good results in domestic competitions and trials, he'll probably get back on the list. Wishing him good luck on both

If you mean his hair color, he did it because of Yuzu (in a sense) Sometime before PyeongChang he said he would dye his hair blond if Yuzu wins the OGM (in one of his Insta stories or something) and did so when the men's event didn't even conclude because he was sure that Yuzu would win. Here's his comment after FS (see the date of upload). He is so sweet Comment attached to the video: PyeongChang 2018 Congratulations, Yuzuru Hanyu for winning OGM!! I've been cheering for you live from the US! Comment in the video: "Yuzu, congratulations! I'm really moved. Thank you so much! Congratulations for winning the gold medal and I dyed my hair because I believed that you would win! Congrats! Thank you!"

Visiting there tomorrow seems a great idea. I think they expect such visitors this time. Please enjoy the parade and the whole trip!

Yeah, but maybe it's easier to see from here imagining Yuzu's movement (see Scott after Yuzu's second 3A combination) Or you mean this, @Lilona?

I always love this Scott's reaction and what he reacted to

Kyoto Univ. recently named their huge astronomical telescope "Seimei" after Abe no Seimei

Unfortunately, Keiji has never been a "Police chief for a day" but he has become a "Fire chief for a day" once. Until he finally becomes a police chief please enjoy Keiji the fire chief. source source

Javi will appear on a Japanese TV show "Honoo no Taiiku-kai TV" (not sure when) He is known as Yuzu's teammate (and also as Miki's ex) and his performance at PyeongChang seems to have been received favorably by general viewers in Japan. He'll join Fantasy on ice tour too, so he'll have some more media appearances in Japan. But I think he has already been doing as much as he can in Japan as a foreign skater. Even though figure skating is popular in Japan, it's not like you can appear on ice shows and TV shows all through the year. Also, we don't know how long the sport will stay popular in Japan. So relying only on Japan is not wise. I think he is right to put his priority now (right after his biggest achievement) on promoting FS in his own country even if it might seem to bring not much profit at first.
