  1. Is he doing Harry Potter? Or does he just look like Harry to you, lol.
  2. There have been more? I'll admit most programs with lyrics are so badly done that I just hear the lyrics as "mumble mumble". Or "ROOOOOOOOOOOOXAAAAANNE".
  3. I don't see it working, but it doesn't matter anyway. Still waiting for the top men to announce their music. Kolyada already has, what about the others?
  4. Good luck doing International Economics, Tsurskaya! I never even had the chance to shorten your last name into a Russian Lady nickname.
  5. Probably, but she could have gone to an external choreographer and it's their rink.
  6. x love y heart z me. Maybe a different permutation. EDIT: Forgot "believe"
  7. Well. Could be fun. Wait, where do musicals figure in, again? ETA: Whoops, just noted the season, lol.
  8. No one I've seen has called it accurate without discarding human error (although I'll admit I don't know Russian). The "method" of calculating is based off simple high school physics -- and some were pointing out how close the results looked when compared to some ice scope data. That jump being around 65-70 cm (but closer to 70) makes sense to me.
  9. start at 1:50:08 I counted 22, out of 30. Could be 23. It's pointless to do it without 60 fps, though. These will always be overestimates. I'd say that's between 65-70 cm in height, so about as high as the ones in 2017 (which makes sense; the angles are different so it might look larger the way it's filmed here).
  10. My only problem with Rika's music is that I don't find it to be a skating song, at least not for singles skating. The choreo does nothing special, either.
  11. I felt she was uncomfortable with the style, although maybe only because of its being relatively fresh. I also found the choreography to be quite generic.
  12. I don't know if I have a problem with the "egyptian" hands... They are not being used to make offensive references, IMO, and I would probably not notice them if I didn't already know they were "egyptian" hands. My main problem is that their main reference to a fusion seems to be 1. having some vague references to middle eastern folk dances and culture via some of the hand gesturing, the music, and her make-up/braid 2. not actually making it a fusion with barely any hip hop in it. It just seems like they could have done it with any other music, and called it <insert culture here> "hip hop". It's somewhat undercooked, knowing what they were going for. I'd be fine with it had they not said if it was a hip hop (which will be my stance going into the season; it looks more like "funk"). But it's currently really not what they said they were going for. I like some of the slinkiness she's bringing to her movement currently, and some of the character, though.
  13. I think people like to draw connections where there might be none... I don't think Jason influenced Yuzuru.
  14. You can't disagree with my being fine with it. but I'm fine with you not being fine with it
  15. Well... https://www.japantimes.co.jp/sports/2019/05/24/figure-skating/satoko-miyahara-enhances-benoit-richauds-growing-influence-japan/#.XOg4vRZ_WaM
  16. The Shibs won't be back this season, either. I like them, and they are very skilled, but I am fine with it. I didn't always care for their skating.
  17. I always end up reading "satton" as "Satan", and so I went "Well, that's your own fault".
  18. I, too, wish more had taken part Especially because I want to see more "older" ID and Pairs to learn more about it, because ID as it currently is I find insufferable, and S/H are currently the only ones I like watching in Pairs (although I hope again Boikova/Kozlovskii develop well).
