  1. Might I remind you guys that the ISU came up with the genius for last season. I think they have very poor editors and proofreaders (along with all their other issues).
  2. It's percussion, so they might have just wanted to mix in a variety of rhythms for more texture. I'm not worried about it, although of course bad cuts are ubiquitous in skating.
  3. Interested to see what satoko does with her sp. I wonder if that's what she was training hip hop movement for.
  4. It was a terrible joke lol it was "there" except not really
  5. I love this program. ================================================= I was wondering whether I should invest time into making the rest of the lists, because my memory is patchy, and I really haven't watched much of Pairs and ID before 2016. I also severely disliked 2014-15 as a season, and haven't sat through most programs. But here are upto 10 I remember liking anyway. I will also say that Gracie Gold's Daphnis et Chloe is my favourite choreography of all singles' programs in the 2014-18 quad. Might as well put in all time favorites outside of the CoP?
  6. Did they redefine sequences, at least? From being able to do only +Axels to whatever they want? I miss the +step+toeloops/salchows. +Axels are also harder than any +toeloop or +loop combination...
  7. Her skating would have been far, far worse had she been born around this era. She's my winner for PC anyway.
  8. Really? Because the push for reduced scores on quad falls was in demand by several fans - not just American fans - much before Pyeongchang. Remember how Chan beat Takahashi in 2012 worlds? Or how Chan fans were salty about Yuzuru winning Sochi with two falls? Ashley Wagner feeling "gypped" at Sochi? Russian fans complaining about Kostner's scores? People joking about Kolyada's opening 4Lz fall? I have no clue whatsoever if Rippon hat anything to do with it. But the rule itself had been a long time coming. And might I remind you, the scales of values and the proposal for +5 GOEs and the idea for "radical changes" was out before PC.
  9. OK, but he IS a potential rival to Yuzuru. If you ignore the details of "why" his score was that high -- and it's not even journalistic freedom, if the judges gave him that score -- then he is indeed contending.
  10. Do you think this was a good rule? Look, I don't like him or his skating, but he's recently medaled at worlds in Japan, won WTT in Japan, and is co-coached by someone Japanese. I have absolutely no clue why the Japanese media focuses so much on foreign skaters, but it's hardly breaking pattern.
  11. Yep, got that from his training clip. At least I'm excited about the choreography...
  12. I too was thinking if it was more because of wanting to promote quads and 3A in ladies, and to maybe signal they're willing to be lenient on quints. But it's still so silly? It's not even a significant change if that's the case? What exactly does a point more on a UR 4Lz do? Even in the Zhou case? Literally who cared about this?!
  13. Has she ever announced the intention to add it this next season? I admit I'd forgotten though.
  14. OK. Come on. Seriously. How many of Zhou's (and Uno's) URs were called last year, and how does this affect anything? I just read that the document from 2018-19 said that you can't go above +3 for UR jumps. Well, that was good while it lasted, even though I didn't even know it was a thing. But I doubt anyone's going to give +5s (EDIT: the maximum is +4) for UR jumps anyway. We barely ever even saw +2s for UR jumps IIRC last season (but I've deleted most of it from my brain by now anyway). ETA: I found something to compliment! 1Eu won't be called URed anymore, unless lacking rotation entirely (then it's a <<). I always found it weird that an edge change was considered for rotation. Or for BV. Next step, stop considering these 3 jump combinations again. Put them as two jump combos, with an edge change in the middle if you must. Please bring back nice airy +2T+2Lo combos, or the rarely seen +2Lo+2Los. I'm sick of ugly half loops.
  15. Yeah, IDC about something that is so dependent on their bogus "training". I'm just tired with them apparently doing a review, and then not even changing the combo BVs... I know a person who's been following this sport for more than a decade, right from the first few years of the CoP, and that's been a major complaint for all that time in their words, that +Loop combos are still basically pointless, and that a combo out of a quad gets the same bonus (zilch) as one out of a triple, a double, or a single. It's just tiring. You can't even say Nathan Chen or Vincent Zhou can't do +Loops and therefore it doesn't matter to the ISU. Zhou was practicing 4Lz<+3Lo< and Chen did a 4T+3T+3Lo<< once in training. I know the judging won't ever be fixed. I know it's a lost cause to want to see good programs because the PCS is judged poorly. At least promote new combos. No one will try 3A+3Lo or 4Lz+3Lo (real ones).
  16. They already could last season though... I'm frankly fine with them getting upto +2. There's a lot to be changed, and idk if it will be, and I doubt I'll have the energy to say any thing more on this. Sigh.
  17. Weren't edge calls introduced mid quad in 07-08? Lol. I guess this is their solution to standardizing UR calls. Call them wrongly, make sure BV drop is lower. Sad that they didn't correct 4As and +Loop combos, because this is just so silly to do. Simply a way to say "Oh, we sure do care!"
  18. Sure but like... Why now and why out of the blue? It's so random lol. Did they just meet up and go "Oh, let's change some BVs today!" Was there ever anyone who even raised an objection to the BVs for UR jumps, ever? Did anyone care at all? It's like some poorly written fantasy show.
  19. Because Med and Sakamoto have said they want to upgrade tech content to having quads and 3A respectively. But I agree Zagi has more potential to get into GPF than either of them, and I don't think the ones who're going to attempt all the new content automatically means they'll get in.
