  1. Tbh Yuzu does occasionally get overscored. But in the more recent past, it's usually for specific elements here and there and it gets more than balanced out with the number of +3 GOEs he doesn't get. Like his 4Lz, we all know that was a bit overscored. That axis and that landing! Supersaves should be a plus GOE bullet because it's a very Extra skill, but all things considered... All the 3As he hasn't got +3 on more than balance that out, though. And judges don't ignore his negative GOE bullet points anywhere near as often as they do with other top skaters. And I'm super super salty about any choreo sequence from him that doesn't get +3, too.
  2. That's cool but... I hope they're just getting the technique down before she grows taller so she has that to fall back on when she has to rework her jumps. I guess there's a time limit if you want to do that. But her 4S and 4T both need work to be good quads in competition, not just, you know, for 'OMG look quads from ladies' and BV. I guess I'm looking forward to Alena's 3A more than Sasha's 4Lz.
  3. But her 2A is the one jump that always seems rotated. Maybe it'll help her other jumps' height and distance anyway.
  4. I have a vague memory of him kind of pulling his leg almost all the way up and giving up, but very vague. I saw a photo of Yuzu's high kick in LGC now and it had full extension, almost a full split. Well, not really worth the effort now, I guess, he already has very difficult spins.
  5. I think I might be aboard the R+J2 appreciation train, because that stsq and choreo when done well are wonderful. Full of nuances that were completely lost on me because I only watched the competition videos. He really didn't have the stamina back then. He has such wonderful musicality. That programme is also improved by being done in his training gear.
  6. I was watching lots of LGC and I've decided after all those high kicks that he might be able to do a Y-spin. And also that with cut BV and one fewer jumping pass, I would not object to seeing his H&L record stand for all time.
  7. I think that rumour was started by Didier Gailhaguet lol Of course he'll want Yuzu there, he wants the sponsors and the ticket sales!
  8. And Wakababy's Worlds silver and the 4CC podiums, right?
  9. Yuzu, sweetie, get better, okay? Take good care of that ankle and get better. Because we sure as hell need you, so you're going to have to just get better and come back to us for a while longer.
  10. There was a documentary/something along those lines posted in the Team Russia thread a few weeks ago that - according to reported translation, so big pinch of salt - had Alina saying she eats only a full meal at breakfast and she skips dinner or eats only fruits. Again, it's just a reported translation, and I kind of dismissed it at first, but then came the press con the other day, and... Well, she doesn't seem to have the best relationship with food. Especially if she surrogate-stuffs her pets when she gets excited about junk food. Red flags, and noticeable in a sport where eating disorders are a problem. But could also be a big mountain made out of a molehill. I hope so, for her sake. I do think that the way puberty is considered in ladies' figure skating needs to change. You don't *have* to compulsorily lose jumps at puberty. There are skaters who get jumps when they're older and keep going when they're older with good 3-3 combinations (Mirai, Caro - Midori Ito was 23 when she got her Olys silver! Arakawa didn't suddenly get bad after puberty! Kaetlyn is 22 and her jumps are mostly awesome. So it's possible to jump with hips.). Maybe the way they train(ed) and their techniques should be studied and replicated to find out how they compensate for - or maybe even use - their changed bodies in their skating. Instead of sticking with the tiny-hips-superfast-rotation-technique training when the body changes, trying to subdue the body to suit the training and technique. Then maybe puberty wouldn't be such a scary monster, it would be a manageable and inevitable stage that these girls go into knowing their teams have a viable plan (other than just don't go through puberty ).
  11. Well, they did have to work extra hard with the Pooh rain, it's only fair.
  12. Brian can't really say they will come back to Toronto and to TCC, can he, it's a business arrangement as well and until it's officially and formally done, Brian saying that would be like TCC making an announcement to media that the Olympic champion will be training there next season. He can't really do that until everything's been done and signed. Ah, I needed that interview and the video after the men's SP.
  13. That kinda didn't sound like takeoff to me, that's why I asked.
  14. He did say he would've changed the layout, I remember that bit. If it was delirious imagining, we both did it. He didn't specifically mention 4Lo I think, but I suppose that's the only way he could've increased BV of his free skate. Because even he wouldn't think of going for the 4Lz, that leaves the 4Lo, and he did give it a go during a practice.
  15. Actually... I'm not sure if you mean the jumps, like from the moment she pulls back and leaps, or the part leading up to it? Because the part leading up to it is to fulfill the GOE bullet of clear steps before a jump, and she usually has complicated ones that looked just how you described when I started watching her, too!
  16. Borser was with Lilbet in K&C, he's there, and so is Mama Tracy, she was with Gabby and Lilbet. I agree about the 4Lo. He would have added it and landed it if he'd had to, and I'm incredibly thankful he didn't have to. His takeoff is incredibly beautiful and looks incredibly taxing on the ankle. I would have . I say surround the rink with lots of little holes for him to stick his head through and let him play. Keep Poohs in a few.
  17. I know, but that landed 4Lo that looked gorgeous - he attempted two, popped one and looked unconcerned, landed one - was what fooled me. Everything else, I knew he could do even if he wasn't healed but the 4Lo? I'm glad he fooled me though, I would not have survived that if I'd known how bad it really was. I barely survived as it is.
  18. Thank you for this! I feel like finally see something of what this programme could've been. In most of the competitions, he went really noodly arms after about the third minute.
  19. Bad puns! YES! Post often with bad puns!
  20. I hope he found more things to poke his head through. The space kitty, he might have fun for hours if somebody put a bunch of big cardboard boxes on the ice.
  21. I know, I hit pause and laughed for a while, too. His expression - fed up, resigned to losing the rest of his hair, proud of his boys, and yet also unable to just not think of how incredible it would be if (when) he did it.
  22. I think Pooh might want to show off by making the 4Lz his last jumping pass. Hunny can give you superpowers like that.
  23. Open the not too expensive sparkly wine! The expensive stuff is for when he lands the 4A.
