  1. That's true, too. We just scrutinise much more closely now. The Kobe girls have nice jumps. Well, Kaori flutzes, but Mai has nice jumps. Caro used to have really nice jumps too. Why does nobody consider Mishin for Zhenya? Is it a politics thing? Personality thing? Liza does have gorgeous jumps.
  2. Even if he's not good enough with English to read and lurk properly, I'm sure he knows. The boy checks up online what's being said about him. So he must have googled himself, and the planet is right there if he googles himself, so...
  3. Kaetlyn has wonderful distance and coverage and flow but she also has pre-rotation problems, so I don't know if Ravi would be the best coach to help rework Zhenya's toe jumps. It is too bad that Tat isn't up to coaching anymore. A good jump coach and Tat's influence and choreography, I'd love to see that. Without a big name, visible coach, would Zhenya's PCS take a hit? I'd hope she's too well established for that to be a problem anymore. But there doesn't seem to be any real source about Zhenya leaving Eteri yet.
  4. Personally, I do want to see Zhenya getting better the way she did last season. Whatever change is necessary for that, I hope she makes it. She won't be a direct competitor to Yuzu in any way so any concern about that is ???? Though now I'm wondering if TCC, given the choice, would prefer to take Wakaba or Zhenya. Taking both would be difficult, though if they feel up to it they could, always. But they have such completely different coaching requirements! Wakaba has an excellent 2A that could possibly become a 3A (that BOrser should be able to help with), she needs her flip edge sorted (again, Yuzu's flip is now stable but that's not only down to TCC, it was already getting much better when he got there), she needs her PCS boosted (TCC could help with that) and she needs more complex transitions in her programmes (TCC could help with that as well). Zhenya needs her jumps sorted (lutz edge, her slightly scratchy axel landings, prerotation on toeloop in combo, bit of a toe hammer on her flip) and she needs to have her training handled carefully so she doesn't get lasting damage from injuries (TCC could be good at that given the chance). Wakaba might be more comfortable territory for TCC. With Zhenya, they'd have to do something different, and I don't know if TCC has the kind of track record to justify a move from Zhenya? Zhenya is generally an excellent edge-jumper (love her loops and sals, she has gorgeous loops and sals) and her skating skills have improved so much in the last season. There has to be somebody else for her? But this is all hypothetical.
  5. I'm so glad I only caught up with all of this after five on a Friday. Drinks on me, everybody. Get rid of solo steps because they're controversial? No, you gibbering nonsensical baboon-arsed zebra-faced numpties, the controversial part is how your judges ignore the rule about negative GOE for lack of required steps before solo jump in the SP depending on who does(n't) do it. That's the controversial part. So if now rules are being proposed according to what your fave (sorta) cannot do, how about this? How about we outlaw all quads for men because I like Jason Brown a lot and apparently he just can't land a quad, and I still think he's good enough a skater to podium? If one requirement that's a good marker of how good a skater you are can be struck down like that because it's inconvenient, make it go all the way! How about let's give a one second leeway before and after a jump is airborne to complete rotations? I like Satton's skates, this would mean she never has to actually rotate! Let's tailor proposals for rule changes to suit the inadequacies of skaters! What could go wrong! WHEEEEEE!!!
  6. There's loads of media and interviews and translations and videos on the planet, not to mention very silly jokes and banter. Videos from mushroom bb Yuzu time to post-PC, there's so much. It'll be an awesome weekend.
  7. Welcome! There's just no going back after watching Helsinki H&L. Just no way back. Quite a few people on the planet like Julian and MCM, too. There are usually event threads for challenger and senior B competitions, keep an eye out and join in the chat there, too!
  8. I remember Yata or Robin or Yuzuangel saying something about the 3000 mark a few weeks ago, so we definitely have loads of lurkers now. Delurk and post, new satellites, it's way more fun when you're part of the silliness.
  9. So many new satellites! Welcome, orbit happily, post often, have fun with the rest of us!
  10. Even Yuzu can't unlock the secrets of that mind. Yuzu's mind trolls him when he's in peak physical condition. The ultimate Trollzuru.
  11. Ha, we watched this on somebody's periscope (I'm sorry I don't remember who did that act of kindness, but a thousand blessings upon whoever it was) and I nearly died. He popped it in his RT and then went back and did that.
  12. There's a Yuzumoticon for every mood. Even ghoulish eye-removing mood.
  13. I'm glad you think that the eye-removal is the obstacle in my path, not the ghoulifying. ETA: Yuzu eyeing a tasty eye.
  14. Damn what did I miss.
  15. I've just got to become a one-eyed ghoul who likes scrambled eggs and then I can eat the mushroom.
  16. He's said he's open to the idea under the right circumstances.
  17. The adorable mushroom! Put him in my scrambled eggs!
  18. I'm not worried mostly because of everything he's said about having people who take care of his nutrition, eating rice before competition, and how he's so grateful to his mom for cooking for him what he needs. And because of how he seems a little neutral towards food (unless it's red pepper). Altogether, it gives the impression of somebody who has pretty much handed over the responsibility of feeding him and keeping him nourished to a team (of which his supermom is a big part) who has it all sorted out, especially during season. And he occasionally lets himself indulge with chips or soda or junk food, probably very rarely and not when he's looking to get into top form. Then there's his experience at the shelter after the earthquake, when there was some food shortage and his family saved him an extra portion because he was growing and an athlete - things like that can really change perspective in ways to last a lifetime. Altogether, it doesn't give me the worrying feeling of somebody with an unhealthy relationship with food. It always sounds to me like he has an extremely utilitarian way of looking at food. And even his body. Keeping very close track of what shape his body is in is probably just part of his life. I hope that awareness extends to how he's actually feeling, too, now. I know it's completely irrational to fear the 4Lz because it was the fever and fatigue that caused the bad fall, but I can't help being terrified at the thought of him flying long distance and then jumping the 4Lz again.
  19. Oh that sounds very unpleasant! But I'm glad the planet and Yuzu have been keeping you entertained while you deal with all of it. I hope you get better soon to be in fine form to watch Yuzu debut his new programmes for the season.
  20. Embedding. My new fave photo refused to embed. It has murderface antenna.
  21. Inner peace...
  22. I don't mind, either. It's just amusing - 50 likes, 70 likes, suddenly 1000+ likes, go back to 60 likes.
  23. I was scrolling through the Olympic Channel's twitter and looking at the number of likes and retweets things generally get, no wonder they're Yuzu-spamming.
  24. They could do lives of the rehearsals! Would they mind polite begging, you think? A lot of people post Yuzu clips and photos knowing they'll get the likes and RTs...
