I would much prefer Yuzu NOT go to Japanese nationals! This season is a wash, and it's dangerous and pointless to hold nationals when every other international competition after it is going to be canceled. The logistics are too complicated to get all skaters, coaches, staff to quarantine, not to mention there's audience?! The virus is not gonna be better in a few weeks than it is now. I would personally prefer him continue to hide safely and practice in secret. Somehow it gives me peace of mind not to see him Plus the first one is possibly a anyway.

Junior Skaters of 2020/21 Season
yuzuangel replied to sallycinnamon's topic in Igloo World: Team Other Skaters
Wow, this is amazing, thanks! Thanks for your detailed summary of Junior JNats -
good question. i would really hope not. cuz it's like an asterisk saying the jump wasn't completed correctly, right? but then again they ratified some really bad jumps (*cough* brandon mroz 4lz). plus nowadays the tech/judging panels are all skewed so it should not count just like WR, SB, PB, etc. IMO. i don't get why they go in and ratify jumps done at non-ISU-sanctioned competitions (this includes Shoma's 4F). Seems unnecessary... i just started a new job so i am only just starting to save! i can roll over 15 days at the end of every year. and if beijing happens i feel like it would be best to visit for at least 2-3 weeks? olympics are pretty special and it would be nice to see the host city too. it might be a stretch not to use any vacation days for a whole year, but i'm lucky enough to be able to work from home, so it feels like a waste to be using them when i can save them up for when competitions ultimately resume...

If it was not COVID, they would say so. 3 weeks is a long time, sounds longer than the avg of 10 days for mild cases, so a bit worrisome. But she says she's feeling much better, so let's hope that's the end of it...

Wishing a speedy recovery to Zhenya, Anna, and the rest of Sambo if they got the virus... I think Zhenya's been showing symptoms for a while (she posted a story a few weeks ago iirc of her hanging out with a friend? And then went radio silent) So that's why she's been continuing to be tested...? Anyway she's young and fit so I think she'll recover, but with how many people in team russia getting it you'd think they'd be more careful instead of holding competitions without audience, skirting rules to hold their competitions, etc. just hoping none of them get lasting symptoms, that would be devastating for any athlete. Of course, also hoping it doesn't spread to parents, grandparents, older coaches, etc...

I think this is the cover? 😝

Heh, yeah, but iirc the problem wasn't just the early mornings, but the fact that the press conferences the previous day went very late, so the top 3 men didn't get a lot of sleep. hence they all skated poorly...

yikes honestly i hope Yuzu doesn't do the team events, they're lame, but if he's not injured, he'll probably do the SP.... at least there's a day between the SP and FS. in PC, it was back to back. i don't think the time of day (morning) matters that much because most athletes will be coming from a completely different timezone anyway. some practices at the GPF started at like 7am. but i HAVE heard complaints about early competitions before, so...i guess it depends also, lowkey freaking out how fast beijing is approaching. didn't pyeongchang JUST happen? I would love to go too. But who knows what the state of the world will be like then. Also as an American, not sure I'll be let in anywhere anytime soon
