Aww I'm not the one holding the Secret Santa but I think there are ways for everyone to join. Stuff like playlists, gif collections, etc. are also accepted according to the specifications I think the fun of it is 90% in the participation than in the actual stuff

Welcome to PH, @monchan I do and don't see a similarity. I also loved Yuna Kim, as she was my favorite skater after Yuzuru, so obviously I'm biased towards her. But even as a huge fan I could see that after winning OGM, she never regained a fraction of the drive, hunger, and perseverance that Yuzuru has shown after winning. Yuzu skated every GP series and went to every Worlds. He has continued to break records every single year. He's been upgrading his technical layout every single year. In his interviews you can see that skating is his life. Yuna created masterpieces post-Vancouver but she was a different skater. I don't fault her for it either, skating is a hard sport, and she dedicated almost all of her life to it, injuries and all. But that just goes to show that what Yuzu has done has been nothing short of...spectacular. Anyway I know your point is that the Olympics likes to shake things up. But I think Yuzu knows and has been trying hard to combat that variance (and the odds being against him) so if there's anyone who can do it, it's him.

Haha as long as you're taking off/landing on the right edges and everything, then they are the correct jumps *cough* unlike some top skaters *cough* just kidding
-
Yo that's pretty impressive! Just leaving the ice took me a ridiculous amt of time, yet you're doing like 3 jumps already (i spent a lot of time doing waltz jumps holding the boards before attempting them. balancing on skates looked/felt like a challenge already, getting into the air seemed downright impossible...like, i'm trying to not fall with both feet on the ice, you want me to jump into the air?! )

how about stopping? they'll probably thank you for it

On a more light-hearted note, here are some swans I made

upright spin attempt spiral attempt

i'm trying sit spins loolll (they're not very good). tbh it's not really my sit spins being bad but my spins in general, it's hard to center them recently i've been trying this new thing where i get down into the sit position faster (in this video i kinda go down slowly) which helps a bit because the lower you go the easier it is to center. i also need to figure out how to arch my back but it's more difficult than when i'm not spinning it's mostly the centering issue. my entry still needs work

I love this -
Yeah honestly, me neither? I gotta give Nathan credit for doing a ridiculous number of quads without succumbing to the "wet noodle" skating that Yuzu was so often crucified for in the past, although I'm not sure I prefer stiffness, tbh. Like, maybe Nathan has a better core due to having also danced, but if his SS aren't up to par, it doesn't translate well onto the ice. I know there are differences -- Nathan is doing far more quads than Yuzu was at his age, but Yuzu was already sinking all of the big elements (to quote B.ESP) into his footwork before Sochi. In his FS in particular, I feel like Nathan is just going from element to element with crossovers so it's ... probably not that hard to keep a decent posture tbh? If you compare Yuzu at 18/19 and Nathan at 18/19, sure, I think you can say Nathan's better, but now? I feel like there's no comparison. Yuzu's back posture is always so beautiful (gorgeous landing positions, ina bauer, inside/outside spread eagles, that beautiful moment in Chopin 3.0), with full extension + arched back, smooth + effortless + not rushed movement, and wonderful glide and deep edges. If all of those things contribute to "posture" then Yuzu looks like the actual dancer on the ice IMO.

I can't believe on top of having to WD from NHK the injury turned out to be more serious than expected...seriously can't he get a break?! How glad we should be that he didn't skate though Get better soon, Yuzu...
