In exactly 1 month, Yuzu will be skating in the Team Event SP (well, not confirmed, but most likely). How time flies....
-
Yeah, you're totally right. It's the whole 'it takes 10,000 tries to land a jump, and 30,000 tries to fix one' issue, i guess. when you're nervous in competition relying on muscle memory all your old habits (mule kicks, wrong edges, URs) kick in. Then I wish he goes back to 3 and does them properly as well. And earn those PCS.

NO. WHY?!?!?!
-
Yeah, pretty sure Yuzu will skate the short, then. Shoma has consistently lost to Nathan in the short except Worlds '17.
-
Somehow I can see him keeping the Lz AND dropping it But yes, he has always taken a long time to learn a new jump (although the Loop was pretty stable right off the bat because, like Brian said, he overtrained it to the detriment of everything else, but 4S and 4S-3T anyone?) But with this lack of time, well, I really don't know. He can win without it. It's not like anyone else has been skating lights-out with more than 5 quads, either. The max is 5 and Yuzu with his two 3As should beat a layout with 5 quads and 1 3A anytime. The main problem is he's not going to want to drop it. Has he ever dropped an element? But this season he's been making strategic decisions and not his usual impulsive ones, so...

Well, his goal was to make the Olympic team, and he did it. Not sure he would have if he had kept at 3 quads? Maybe now that he did, he'll go back to something he can handle next season, if he's still around.

I know right?! Perfection... I gasped. The lady came over to me and was like "did you see our yuzuru postcards" and I was like "uhh yeah" and she was like "OK i just wanted to make sure you got one" but they didn't know I had already taken a bunch . I wonder how she knew? I must have looked very starry eyed

Makes me appreciate Yuzu wearing it even more.. -
tbf, i didn't "know" this. i just heard from a couple sources that he got back on the ice on that one day (or two). i didn't know if he stopped going back after the first few times or if he felt pain and decided to rest longer. so if i can get a confirmation that he's training and has no pain, i would be 110000% super happy fanyu right now. sigh.

Yeah, that does make sense!! Maybe he wasn't supposed to tell Is Yuzu not the king of keeping things secret? Did this season not teach us anything? *cough* lutz *cough* seimei Or maybe I'm just in an overly optimistic/good mood right now....
-
Yeah, personally I don't think he's "doing 5 quad runthroughs" type of recovered, but that he's recovered enough to start training. Hopefully it means no pain! The rest will come...!!!
-
i guess, not publicly making it known? who knows!
-
Re. Javi's statements about Yuzu training earlier... (translation says 'Yes, for several weeks, but in absolute silence. Better this way.')
-
Well, there are bitter and jealous people in the world.
-
Yeah I actually rolled my eyes like, you can't find a single nice thing to say about Yuzuru? Really? Come on. The way he tries to package all of his skaters into a next Michelle Kwan makes me question his taste. He's clearly still living in 6.0 era.

Thank you for this post and your perspective. I agree with you on all points
-
Dear Yuzu, I hope you're well.

is it just me or do both daisukes look alike

Hmm... Well, is it possible to get rid of all possible conflicts of interest (in addition to the obvious, of course, of current coaches/choreographers/etc.)? I suppose, there could be a database somewhere, that if an ex-student of yours is competing, you're disqualified from being a judge of any sort. But some skating freelancers work with hundreds of competing skaters, sometimes from tiny things like fixing a jump or a spin, so it becomes very This is why I support the fantasy motion to replace as many judges' responsibilities with machines, ASAP! No matter how much it "kills the sport," nothing kills the sport more than working your butt off on something and never seeing any reward for it for no reason other than the country you come from or how marketable you are. Unless the "sport" you're going into is modeling or something, lol.
