  1. ow, that sounds painful so i think i mentioned this before but my coach and had a bit of a communication hiccup so he keeps telling me that for spin entries it feels like "someone is pulling your arm back." I do it but it feels awkward and i don't center it very often. and he keeps telling me to pull it back while i'm like "i'm pulling it back as much as i can!" so lately i've been doing my spins from a standstill/push for a while and finally got the hang of how to do it, and one of my mental breakthroughs was realizing that good centered spin entries feel like my left shoulder is being stretched as if someone was pulling it back...to which I was like "wait that sounds familiar.......ohhhhhh." apparently i had been keeping my arm back super far behind me but my shoulders were not pulled back - no wonder it felt uncomfortable and twisted. sometimes my coach tells me to "turn out your foot" and i turn out my foot but NOT my hips lol. i remember once he told me he never saw someone turn out their foot so much without their hips turning out at all
  2. of course but i leave next tuesday i can go to the disney store and buy you one, if you want
  3. yeah i tripped over my toe pick falling forwards hurts more than falling backwards on your butt
  4. I think a likely scenario is that he's not 100% healed (ligament damage is so difficult to heal I heard), and he's willing to give it his all in the individuals because there's only one shot, but he's not doing anything to risk any further injuries. Yuzu has skated well with injuries before. Especially if they're almost healed. He would be in a better position than oh, let's see, 2012 Worlds, 2013 Worlds, 2015 (basically all season), 2016 latter half of the season. Yes he wouldn't have competition experience. But just because he's not at 100% doesn't mean he can't still do well. And hey, who knows how the other guys will do too. Other than Javi, none of the other top contenders have Olympics experience, I think.
  5. It's possible but the ISU knows it'll be a scandal. Do they want another scandal after Sochi? Depends on if they have hearts and minds... #sorrynotsorry BTW I was looking at the season's best lists and Boyang's winning 4CC score (300.95) is 2nd on the list after Shoma's Lombardia Trophy score. This means only 2 skaters have surpassed 300 this entire season. I was a bit shocked but thinking back on the season I'm not surprised. And skaters will probably skate better and get higher scores just because it's the Olympics. Still, very sad because if Yuzu was healthy and well-prepared, beating 300+ is a cakewalk. But hey, he's skated in many different conditions before ranging from everything being broken to perfectly healthy and still manages to do amazing. So good luck, Yuzu.
  6. I'm bringing 8 poohs to Pyeongchang thanks to some kind satellites who sent me their poohs
  7. Anyway, I do trust that Yuzu and his team make smart decisions and will always do what's best for him. But I'm super pissed that he's working with less than the best case scenario right now. Because ugh, he deserves better. Every time.
  8. I don't think there's many benefits to doing the team event other than getting some competition mileage, but the thing I'm most worried about is knowing Yuzu, I'm not sure he is the type to say "Well skating for team japan is not convenient for me right now even though I could, so I guess I'll skip it." So I just hope he's feeling okay.
  9. today I fell once on a bunny hop
  10. whatever motivates him...

  15. there was a girl who was around mid-20s? who was trying to land a double salchow today. she was so brave and fell so many times and some of those falls looked really painful, like SITTING on your ankle but she finally landed one haha. i'm really impressed by brave people who aren't afraid to fall at all...
  16. ouch i'm so scared of twisting my ankles and wrists, after many years of twisting them playing other sports
  17. today i was pretty nauseous while spinning but it still didn't prevent me from doing spins for like 1 hr >_> even though i should be working on other things (warning: gross lol) i have a bad cold so at times i felt like throwing up lol
  18. makes zero sense...
  19. JK I need to amend that, the total combined score isn't counted, but individual scores are definitely counted towards WRs and PBs/SBs...
  20. Actually it is, which is ridiculous because the scores at that competition, LOL
  21. So many Japanese ladies with 3A! It must be Mao's influence
  22. you guys are so brave....i'm extremely scared of falling....
  23. I'VE ALWAYS WONDERED WHY ONLY HE DID THAT and almost no one else did!! i've only seen it with flying camels and I think Gracie did it in her POTO program but yeah it looks RIDICULOUSLY difficult and each of his "swings" is always right. on. the. beat.
  24. yeah, i've realized this too - randomly spinning myself around (whether on ice or in an office chair or whatever) for a couple of rotations = super dizzy and nauseous. but doing 15 rotations on ice in a semi-centered spin = 5 seconds of lightheadness, but no nausea or prolonged dizziness. i have noticed that i get dizzy when i spin faster than usual, but after a while when i get used to it i stop getting dizzy. and then i get dizzy again as i get even faster tbf i kind of enjoy being really dizzy, idk why, i'm such a masochist
