We're trying out something new with this thread: Translation Requests! If you would like something to be translated, please visit the Translations Requests and post there and hopefully there will be talented Fanyus kind enough to respond!! We know most of those types of translation requests happen in the GYC so we're not sure if this thread will get attention in the same way. But while there's more traffic in the GYC, things also get buried much faster. That being said, feel free to double post if you'd like The similar Media Links Requests thread has been very useful and active, so we decided to try this out. In addition, we're collecting translations from all around the forum (mostly the General Yuzuru Chat) in this thread: Any translations that don't already have threads in the Translations subforum are welcome to be quoted and posted there! Feel free to post there and help us organize translations for future Fanyus so that they don't get buried in the GYC!

Then they go on and specify that Yuzuru's influence on the skating world isn't yet at the highest - we will see the results of his dominance this next four years until Beijing 2022, and we will see them in the 'girls' (he doesn't say 'male' children, he says girls because junior girls are currently twenty steps ahead junior men) who will imitate Hanyu, but not imitate as in 'copy', but as in 'see his method regarding jumps and transitions'. Max says Yuzuru is someone who 'made the jump something else than just three or four rotations in the air'. He goes on to compare figure skating with ski jumping, which is a sport dear to him, and says that what Yuzuru does with his jumps compares to doing a 200 meters jump while holding a tray of sweets in front of you Sorry, I only wanted to drop a link and I ended up translating the whole thing! Well, I wonder if anyone will mind -
There is a yuzu tea that my mom always gave me when I was sick and coughing: It's a good blend of sweet and citrusy. I never knew it was Yuzu tea, though, until I tried some Yuzu candy because of Yuzu. (Actually, I drank this when I was in Korea for Pyeongchang and very very sick ) It tastes good, although I mentally associate it with being sick now

Miscellaneous Translations Compilation Thread Please help us compile translations of anything -- i.e. tweets, articles, or videos -- that don't have their own threads in this subforum! The goal is to create a repository of translations so they don't get lost in other fast-moving parts of the forum, such as the General Yuzuru Chat Feel free to post quotes or direct translations in this thread!

I don't think he did it so that someone would photoshop it, but when he was doing it, he thought, "I bet someone will photoshop this!" Sadly, I can't find it either, because twitter only shows 3200 tweets/retweets

These glass medals are nice...and there's a piece of metal at the top that shows the correct color. Minimalist. Personally, I like it (Didn't like the ones from Marseilles GPF. Or the stars. IMO.)

Does paypal friends+family work? I don't think Paypal gets a cut there.

Really don't think that's the "real" reason, it just seems SO petty. And it's not like they're taking him in the middle of a season or even a quad....you can always ditch old choreography and get new one. WTH!! Must be something we don't know about, Fed issues??...doesn't sound like it has anything to do with CoC but all these things are so ridiculous, I wouldn't be surprised if they're not related...where there's smoke, there's fire... Seriously side-eyeing with how China is handling things leading up to their own Olympics.
-
o_O wonder if it has anything related to the whole mess with China backing out of their GP, their judges being suspended, etc. etc....problems within the Fed maybe??

Really cute, given his age it's possible that he got into skating because of yuzu as well

The first one that I posted was printed from Spoonflower, which lets you print anything on a variety of different fabrics. I printed mine on cotton. it's very lightweight and not very structured at all so you need to hold it really tightly otherwise it might fold in. The other one was printed at fedex and is more of a canvas and more structured.

Gorgeous banners! Apparently TCC has a banner too!

The problem with calling it an "artistry" competition is that the term is so nebulous. What is artistry? Is it skating skills? Transitions? If there are no jumps or spins, transitions into what? Or the other more "artistic" PCS components like choreography, presentation, interpretation? And who gets to judge that? Calling it an "artistry" competition just makes it sound so subjective and opens it to a lot of criticism, even if it's unwarranted. Although I have a hard time believing it will be unwarranted. I can see the ISU going the gymnastics route with a spin competition, a jump competition, and an all-around competition (what it currently is). I mean, they did already add the team event. But imagining skaters just spinning all day or jumping all day makes me cringe at how many injuries that might result in -- thinking of Lucinda Ruh's problems with micro-concussions from spinning too much. And various ankles and knees... If the issue is wanting to give out more medals, maybe they could have a short program segment, a free skate segment, and a combined segment, and give out Olympic medals for each. That way skaters could optimize their programs differently and maybe even only skate one of the segments. And we might see a really really beautiful short program from someone who might not be technically strong enough to compete in the free skate, rather than two mediocre programs. It exists, at least in the US, but no one watches it

Do you have banners that you bring to competitions? Or see banners posted by other fans? Share them here! Here's one of mine: And another one. This one is a lucky banner, it's only been to two competitions: 2017 Worlds and 2018 Olympics I tried to find a picture of planet hanyu banner but i couldn't
