2018/19 GP Assignments

I've also been keeping track of it and with the disappointing lineup, maybe it's better to keep an eye out for the GP assignments instead. -

But this is really tame compared to the hundreds of pages of freakout before Hanyu's program announcements reveal last year. This is being chill for satellites. -

It's not Thursday here yet. Some gossip that it might be Friday for some because of time difference, so perhaps news would come out Thursday for some in the West and Friday for the East? Idk (but it'll probably drop when I'm not looking lol). -

Once Nathan has his pick, SA and IDF, if France bargained for Yuzu and chose him as a host pick, it's probably up to US fed to pull out or deal with it I would think, unless US fed force France's hand (again, assuming Hanyu and Nathan go). I'm thinking they didn't avoid Yuzu vs Nathan at COR during the Olympic year when the American propaganda machine was gearing to go full blast (the COR results went in their favor anyway but they didn't know that), so they probably wouldn't mind so much the year after Olys either, especially since Yuzu may be very beatable. -

So from what I understand, it's impossible for Yuzu to avoid the medalists, and illogical that JPN fed would have Shoma and him meet twice, so US and Russia probably can't avoid him either (assuming Shoma and Yuzu will be at NHK). I'd rather Yuzu met different medalists early at his GPs tbh so hopefully he switches it up too and doesn't do SC if Shoma also goes there. -

Btw is there a thread for GP assignments? Just because I'm wondering if Yuzu does NHK and SC, where would Shoma go since he has to avoid other WC medalists as well that JPN fed might want him to avoid Yuzu. Is a scenario like that possible? If not will he have to meet Yuzu at a GP at least once?

We still haven't heard an official source from CHN fed about Boyang though. Is it long-term and official?

(Not sure if this was shared here or not.) @1:57 Hanyu trying on his Olympic gold medals at home - this was kind of brushed over during the broadcast, but HOW CUTE IS THAT!? Do you think he lays them down and then try them on one by one? Like all his GPF ones (although he probably skipped the coaster from France), and then both of his Worlds medals too. He probably never touched his silvers from Skate Canada and 4CC again. This reminds me that I really miss Yuzu + Nobu throughout the season. They're not best-best friends, but their rapport and comfort with each other is so heartwarming. Hanyu choreographing for Nobu though () is probably how he could be like if he's seriously coaching a student.

They sometimes film the drawing for Nats (is it also when the previous winner hand over the humongous trophy and also Yuzu met his match with his tie until Kozuka came through?). I always liked watching reactions/interactions and Yuzu there. I'm looking forward to it this year. I personally would love to see Yuzu's (and TCC's) reactions to the glorious meme emojis we utilize rather than our discussions.

All this time I thought Dory was a cute nickname for Yuzu's WoW costume. Never thought it could be thought of as any other way. (I personally prefer the name to boobskirt or lettuce.) Anyway, I remember a tumblr edit of WoW's costume with a grayscale color scheme, which with washing out the stark differences between blue and yellow, made the costume tolerable. Lo and behold! *Sota Yamamoto came through in HF Nagano. Lol maybe he as a fan noticed. *edit: to correct name T_T

The little chopin?

Kimono? Like the kimono top of Hana ni nare? He can just wear his Hana ni Nare costume and it would match so well. I mean, it has cherry blossoms on it right? Also, Hanyu is okay in shinies, glitter, and ruffles because boy is actually a beautiful, etheral, human being. Stuff like that don't go well with commoners (like me).

This is...randomly so cute, especially when he points at the end.
-
If he's predictable, and yet manages to fool us everytime, what does that say about us?
-
Those FAOI singers prove that Japan has a very high threshold for what they consider bad though... Gimme bad-singer Yuzu over some of that! I'll take it!
-
My goodness I love Hanyu so much but his posing gets so awkward when the camera lingers. And I hate that perfectly hair sprayed hair.
-
...to cover up the fact that on the inside he's an evil overlord troll with wagging nonono fingers.
-
Whattttt!!!???? Is that even possible!?
-
Maybe that unless Shinya records his piano playing in a studio for Yuzu's use in skating, there's very likely no way Yuzu will perform this program beyond FAOI stops with Shinya (unless he rechoreographs to the vocal or other versions). The version Yuzu skated to (much like Seimei I guess) was perhaps rearranged and had changes to be played live for the program. Basically my dreams that this will be an EX is crushed.

Is this being discussed elsewhere on the planet or maybe I missed it? I'll just like to rant for a moment about how two Chinese judges were singled out by ISU and lo and behold not USA. I just saw another English article about it and so it made me lose it finally. I am furious and thank goodness I wasn't here when Yuzu got underscored on his WR and etc. Really though, if Parker for USA gets on the judging panel at another Hanyu or Boyang competition in the future

Btw did I blank for a moment there? Because did Yuzu's P&G talk show, another one, happen already? Seems like it was brushed past on the general chat with little fanfare and I'm unsure if it's being discussed elsewhere on the planet. Please tell me if you do know!

That picture hashtag was not only entertaining for us fans, but a greatly positive spin on things that I'm glad received attention. This and giving Yuzu a pooh rain I think are the better portrayals of Yuzu fans in the media which I'm glad for.

Judges are volunteers anyway, although I don't know about tech callers. But extra money from flight and lodging for judges going to grand prize money i.e. skaters? I'm even more onboard. (Tech might be costly now, but unless its cheap and keeps breaking down it'll probably save them more money and time long term.) Also, some people look down on figure skating because it is a judged sport by humans. Wow, technology would definitely get rid of some of that bias! (is something that will never cross ISU's mind).
