  1. I just realized that all the north american GPs happened already back to back. Yuzu's on the western hemisphere so probably he went full on determination/kuyashii mode from (streaming) both events live.
  2. Idk how I feel about the sightings. Sigh, I just miss him more. The grass is always greener on the other side.
  3. They've already started on it. But whether this is true or not, I love Yuzu's personality. Also his humor is totally my cup of tea (and I also smell a dose of self jab and kuyashii, but the haters can go on I guess).
  4. OT: I know this is just a drawing, but seeing his animated antenna just made me really miss it in real time. Can't wait to see it and him again. Okay, carry on.
  5. At ACI, did Yuzu jump a 3F? Just wondering because of the questionable judging of Flips now.
  6. Honestly, Nessie doesn't even have to refer to just the 4A, although it is now its code name here. Yuzu is an alien, he is legendary, he is the rare one in a lifetime talent.
  7. I don't think I've ever loved everything about a costume so fast. It's a shame if he doesn't wear it again!
  8. So I rewatched that clip on Kanjam where the pianist talked about playing the piano for Yuzu during FAOI, and when he played the last part of it, my love for Haru yo koi just exploded again and I had to rewatch it. I don't think it's been confirmed if Yuzu might keep HYK for his EX? Or he might have an entirely different EX (on top of a new SP and FS!) Would you prefer he keeps HYK for his EX, or show a new EX in a few weeks and if so what would you prefer to see him do? Personally, I love HYK A LOT but it would be nice to see an EX that is totally a different genre and more upbeat than Origin and Otonal. Yet, my love for HYK beats that though so I wish it returns (with a slightly altered costume).
  9. I'm petty I don't want Yuzu to come to 4cc if Nathan competes. The propaganda will be atrocious. We're lucky during Boston the US didn't have a male gold medal contender.
  10. Last year, it went there to get first seat view of the 4lz. This year, it went there again for nessie. No doubts about it.
  11. Question: I remember some fans being surprised at Hanyu's SP? FS? going over the time limit in official practice, but he didn't seem to get a time deduction during the real competition. Did he make changes between the practice and competition? Or was the way they counted time in practice and the competition different?
  12. Okay, time to revive this thread since ACI is over. More analyzing of scores. Anyway, I know this Youtuber is infamous among fs fans, nonetheless she/he did this video very quickly including the protocols which I think is very interesting to see together; wish more talented fans could do this for several skaters with just the skates and scores Edit: Also, the music was changed to avoid CR
  13. Someone noticed that Kikuchi isn't at ACI. Is this true? Is this something new, or have Kikuchi been absent before?
  14. Not sure if this was shared before on here, but anyway, sometimes I'm glad YT throws random Yuzu vids at me
  15. Me too! Arashi (although they also have some great costumes) desensitized me to Yuzu's costumes! As well as the weird and flamboyant clothing from anime and live actions. So I didn't bat an eye at Yuzu at first. But honestly I think some Japanese people may also find JE outfits over the top. But that's what JE aims for imo. A performance needs a peformance costume, and it probably has roots in theater, and after a while I prefer costumes than none at all. Edit: I think Yuzu puts extra work into his costumes because he has a similar view in that it is part of the peformance. If I was a skater, a good costume would be a good way for me to flip the switch to on mode too.
  16. I think Javi certainly had goals - but not concrete ones. Like, he was okay with any medal or any podium spot. While for Yuzu, it had to be gold. That's the difference in their hunger. I thought that Javi aiming for any medal in Olys instead of straight up gold like Yuzu was very telling (of course there were reasons and expectations based on content, but that's another story). They work as rinkmates because of that though. Also, ngl without Yuzu the floodgates for over 100 pts in SP, 200 pts in FS, and 300 pts total wouldn't have opened in my opinion. Every top skater last quad benefitted from Yuzu and should thank ISU for leveling the field once Yuzu did that.
  17. I'm already seeing some people validate some of the crazy GOEs we see in juniors. Seniors will be crazy.
  18. Anyone know what this award is about? Is it annual and given to national or regional athletes?
  19. Honestly, because of the unpredictability and rule changes, him casually throwing those numbers out there annoyed me. With that pressure it's not even hype.
  20. I'm slightly underwhelmed by the music choices tbh. I just wanted one that's a little more exciting, I guess with a faster tempo. And maybe switch things up a bit. Or perhaps music from Japan. Well, his skating is beautiful as always.
  21. what this...tears? Why am I crying? Finally. FINALLY.
  22. I know. I side-eyed the description too. But I just decided by myself to turn a blind eye because of reasons. So, yea, it's like a, "whatever - oak tree is a symbol of wisdom anyway" feeling.
  23. It's okay. Oak tree symbolizes strength and wisdom. Yuzu is the last boss afterall.
  24. I also do think Yuzu's English comprehension skills are better than we think. When it comes to language - speaking, writing, and reading/listening can be at different levels.
  25. Not always. I believe every national champ has a choice and voice on whether they want 4CC or not. Yuzu went when he won nats to 4cc 2013 I believe? In 4cc year 2014, 2015, and 2016 due to various reasons (2014 imminent Olys, 2015 surgery recovery, 2016 we learned he was injured afterwards but also he was busy and didn't go totally into ninja mode after nats doing ice news years special and kouhaku and movie filming and documentary among other things) I believe it was his choice to not go and the fed honored it even if he gave a reason or not. Shoma and Dai and other japanese men did/does 4CC even while Japan's ace or nats no.1 Edit: orz. I realize kinda got my years wrong.
