  1. Does anyone have the video, or a video, of when the TJ men forgot their medals on the podium at Nats 2015? source
  2. WOW! But I guess SCI does a much better job of it and manages to pull it off. France should learn from it. This is it. And now we know the true reason why Yuzu isn't going to Idf is because he saw the coasters from GPF. LMAO I can't believe the audacity of some people. But when you have a professor also publishing his "opinion" about jump height and rotation from last season, it's not surprising. Great video! I've become drawn to Yuzu's 4T because of how reliable it is. His 4T is beautiful! I like that this comes with different angles as well as explanations.
  3. Just saw this from SC 2015: cr So another GPS went with plastic or glass too!? WOW! Did they receive as much "backlash" as France though? Tbh there was a bit more effort here, and it looks waaay prettier at least and not as cringe to put on display than a coaster or plastic stars smh. Didn't know it was already a thing though, hmmm. (And it was colorless though... I know we made a joke about Yuzu displaying his silvers from SCI for motivation, but lol one of them is actually glass/plastic.)
  4. Anyway, on a happier note, here's the YT version. LMAO, I think the highschool girl brought up Yuzu's legendary move of unzipping his jacket. Even with his absence for most of the season last year, the boy is still a king. Edit: Removed comment.
  5. Digging back deep, this is older, but I finally had a chance to really sit down and watch this small clip and omg, so cute! They just met for the collaboration this summer (I think), but their relationship sort of reminds me of Yuzu's relationship with the artist of Hani ni nare, Sashida Fumiya. Yuzu seems to fall into a similar type of role with some of his more playful seniors like Fumiya, Nobu, and perhaps Shinya Kiyozuka; sort of like the younger brother who is more level-headed than his older brother type.
  6. Huh? How!? Did Niigata air already!?
  7. Ah, then they probably won't even air the finale, despite teasing us with it. I kind of feel like Yuzu won't ever do a variety, at least not until he stops competing. He seems to prefer talk shows at least, and maybe that's because he doesn't like to feel out of his element or maybe also because he's really cautious with his image.
  8. Wait so are they broadcasting it!? Also, aww that smile. But it must be when he fell from the jump and felt embarrassed. ;_;
  9. This reminds me (OT) That clip during the Olympics of Max and (sorry forgot name)'s explanation/review of the men's jumps in the short and their GOEs was great, informative, and very revealing. I wish more tv stations did that and do analytical reviews after the event and skates. In soccer and American football, the hosts, announcers, professionals, and guests on tv discuss and critic gameplays, runs, and etc (what went right, what went wrong) after a game. It can literally be done for figure skating but with skaters, their jumps, spins and etc, as well as discussing their scores and reviewing video. Will especially help build it as a sport! And yet in figure skating it's like a taboo to even bring it up or even publicly state through analytical reviews that a skater is overscored/underscored. This instead has to be discussed behind closed doors or only between fans in forums because judges can't be wrong. Guess I'm back at being angry at how ISU handles things (and how powerless some skaters and coaches are, or that some commentators for FS are actually ill-informed.)
  10. Coincidence! XD We celebrate Independence Day (July 4th) in the US with fireworks but I didn't go so I just watched that one japanese event that did fireworks with seimei music from 2016 at home on my screen. I knew there was a more recent one with H&L too but didn't know if I could find it again. Yay, thanks!
  11. I don't know about that. I'm sure some little girl somewhere answered "What do you want to be when you grow up?" with "Yuzu's bride." but actually I think those kids are really innocent and cute
  12. The legend of the white t-shirt will never die. (He'll be the biggest troll if this year he also wears a white t-shirt for media day.) I already think Hanyu is a human beyond humans, but knowing with certainty that a "Hanyu-family crest" is for real and he has a hakama from a national treasure with his family crest imprinted on it makes me speechless.
  13. Is this the same hakama he wore for the sendai poster last year? I heard something about sendai.
  14. Don't forget media day in August. Also a Challenger, maybe ACI.
  15. Yuzuru always believes he will go clean. Its his goal for each competition and something I admire about his confidence. I don't think or hope he will back down from ISU's challenge.
  16. I think she's underscored as most JPN ladies, but unlike a few other of her compatriots (like Mai at 4CC and Waka at COC last year) she's not going to be robbed of a gold medal despite a great skate.
  17. If Yuzu crashes and burns like at ACI, I'd rather he lose to Boyang though. Just because, like Javi, somehow they make me feel better about it. (Also Boyang is at TCC now so that works, right?) Idf (and SA), waiting to see if Lorrie Parker will be on the panel. Of course, she doesn't have to be for Nathan to get 9+ PCS though. BV and GOE levels have reset but bias candies and PCS will most likely not.
  18. This looks eerily like my predictions of the Top 6 men pre-Olympics season when I thought podium finishes were guaranteed. I was so sure that Yuzu will win NHK and go to GPF. Then Javi bombed COC. Pchiddy managed to uncurse the Canadian gold. NHK happened. Boyang opted out of GPF. Since everything bad happened last season, praying that we have a good season this year.
  19. It could be money. The country just spent a lot on the Olympics. They're probably not as shameless as France to hand out coasters and plastic stars. Also, the KOR fed seems to not do much for their skaters and don't know how to politick, even worse than Japan who at least favors one or two. Supposedly, they don't inflate scores at their own Nationals either to drum up hype (like at US nationals even Nathan has come close to Yuzu's world records). They haven't done much for Cha either, even though he's a new senior who is a quad jumper. Seems like they're still stuck on Kim Yuna.
  20. Or maybe it's the opposite and she feels much more pressure with a home crowd, like at GPF and Nationals so she decided to not go for NHK. In that case, NHK should have invited Zhenya or Alina to get them out of one of the other GPs. So in the end, I don't think they protected anyone aside from Satoko who is effectively avoiding them.
  21. @Yatagarasu I saw your post on GS in the JPN ladies thread (sorry I don't want to post on there) about Satoko's very good GP assignments and Wakaba's harsh ones. Since Katelyn isn't doing GPs, isn't Wakaba 1st seed and doesn't she somehow get the privilege to put in a preference of GPs? Or is that just a perk of the champion? Still trying to wrap my mind around her GPs. Maybe she did request SC and COR and didn't think about who else will be there, or JSF didn't give her advice.
  22. SC streams practices, right? For people who was here during world 2017, how is Finland? I mean, are they technologically ahead of the usual? Were there open practices? Or perhaps we can lobby? Lol
  23. France tried to get a deal with Hanyu and couldn't. I wonder if Helsinki also had a deal to have Hanyu and Alina skate there in order to host a GP. Just a thought.
  24. It wouldn't be so tough if they were scored properly but well when even a clean and perfect Wakaba struggle to reach Alina and Zhenya's scores...well.
