Faoi is the talk of the town, but has anyone watched the docudrama beyond just the clips shown here? Was wondering what the reviews were and if it was worth watching.
-
In the Faoi thread we were all excited about the Angel and Princely Yuzu descriptions until...the pictures and thus the horrified outbursts. But looking at these pictures, I CAN SEE IT NOW! His body, face, and aura can actually make this look good! Angles and lighting matters.

Tabloids, ISU, antis. Hanyu bares his soul each time but it's never enough. Like I literally just read someone write after that doc with Brian that Yuzu is not the only skater to skate with pain and he's entitled/greedy for wishing for WR for his Olys SP. I need a cleansing. Thank goodness there's new Yuzu content.
-
He was also the only Japanese athlete on the list, correct me if I'm wrong. So unless they stacked the workload on top of another, or someone's on vacation and took time to do it, it's surprising to travel halfway around the world to just get quotes from one athlete's fans. Wow. I want this job.

Haven't read it yet but at least based on the title and the writer's admission I don't think the article was aiming for more than what it was, so meh. I'm just glad they covered him without any inaccuracies or mentioning Nathan? Another thing, Adam Rippon is a good skater, but he's not currently plastered over the media and for the casuals because of his skating. Outside FS he's more well-known than Nathan - my point is, I guess to NA the Pooh Bears is what makes Yuzu interesting/an anomaly especially since we already have our share of intelligent, straight-laced Asian-Americans or the legendary Kwan.

Does ISU have an official Youtube or vids account? The Olympics channel commits a mistake of uploading programs weeks, months, and years late, but perhaps ISU is the biggest fool if they don't upload programs at all. (If so, I can understand why FS is so hard to promote in this century. Other sports at least have highlights as well.)

Well, gotta say it. I am in love with Hanyu's eyes. It's his second feature that I fell in love with (after his beautiful smile). The monolids add so much to his eyes; they almost seem to curve up in the corners at certain angles, giving him that anime cat-like feline look, and it's natural without makeup! And it does so much when he's mischievous or glaring.

Kid versions are fine, but someone playing grown-up Yuzu is cringey in the present especially because we have the present Yuzu at the same age, so I can't help compare. Anyway, what doesn't sit well with me is that it's a dramatization of his struggles based on discussions from the people around him (like BOrser), but what about actually going to the source first? I hope they did, because he's still present and THE BEST resource and we don't need any misinformation or them trying to portray Yuzu's thoughts and struggles without actually consulting him.
-
Sometimes the imitator is even presented to the person being imitated. I just hope Yuzu will never have acknowledge or fake a laugh in front of this guy. It's like TV media is like, Hey we can't get Yuzu on variety and TV. How about lets give those opportunities to his imitator? I used to not care but increasingly I don't like this guy because it belies all the hard work Yuzu does on ice and as well as the work his team does to protect his image, but the guy's just reaping everything Yuzu sowed. Plus Yuzu doesn't even like when his close acquaintance Nobu imitates him, so what does that mean about this guy?
-
Thank you! So I was onto something at least, lol.

When is the rebroadcast of all 3 days of ciontu on Asahi? I thought it was the week of May 25th, but I looked at under PH Events in Ice shows and it's this weekend? Where did I even get May 25th from? I'm confused.

2018/19 Coaching changes

Orser will be professional. So please ask about the tanos, lol. (I actually think Zhenya likes tanos, irrespective of GOEs.) -

Wait, I thought Yugudin also trained in the U.S. for a while? So technically Zhenya isn't the first top Russian skater abroad? -
I like Yuzu's long hair, but I don't know how I'll feel if it's any longer. Wonder if he'll cut it when Faoi happens.
-
Not available in my country.

While it may be true in some cases and for some skaters, Hanyu also does hover hands when skaters are in their training gear, at figure skating dinner parties, and also at TCC. There's also pictures where he didn't used to hover hand Yulia and more recently Satoko. He's okay with males in any costumes or without too. I just think he's more aware of shippers even if he's not on social and the possible scandals that could be, and developed a consciousness and manners around it.

2018/19 Coaching changes

I'm kind of a little sad for my favorite ladies skater if Zhenya's move to TCC is true because it will mean less likelihood of my favorite moving there as rumored to be. It's a selfish emotion. However, at the end of the day I still wish her the best and much success because she is a great and smart athlete. OT: Seeing Yuzu compete with her at Galas in jumping is fun, but I'm not hoping for it to continue at TCC. Yuzu's level is a lot different from Zhenya's. -
RE: backtracking and reading old threads I have a confession. I'm following the present thread and also currently reading the older ones chronologically. But I'm stuck. I cannot get through Worlds 2015 on GS. That's the year Yuzu went through so much but then knowing he cameback but lost Worlds that year and cried, ugh, I can't do it. And if this is giving me trouble, Worlds 2016 will kill me.

When skaters retire, does ISU auto remove skaters from WS?
-
With Yuzu being 3rd, maybe during the group draw he'll finally be lucky enough again to draw last or after his main competitors. Last season, I know he killed it and intimidated some by going before them, but it also gave me major stress with Shoma and Javi going after him during the Olys FS. I'd rather hope for Yuzu to pull out his best after his competitors go, rather than hope his competitors don't do as well after him.
-
I'm sure I'm taking this a little too seriously, but with talk about health and girls and Adam Rippon, is it healthy for an athlete to weigh themself after a meal, even just breakfast? I know Yuzu cares about his weight and his food intake even if he says otherwise, he's too smart to think absolutely nothing of it, but I didn't know it was to this extent. In way I underestimated how figure skating affects Yuzu beyond all the stuff about music, costumes, his jumps and the usual stuff.

Zagitova has announced her next season's SP as POTO. (Kind of a cursed song for the Ladies OGM after the Olympic season because of Hanyu, imo.) Anyway, so anyone who didn't originally mind POTO 2.0, what d'you think? Mura and Kanoko announcing theirs earlier in 2015 didn't stop Hanyu though. Edit: I'm actually among the few that didn't mind POTO 2.0 because I think he'd do it better now (although I'd still prefer more Japanese music) but now I'm like, uh, no.
-
But now I'm wondering how the original uploader got these clips and if the whole talk portion was recorded. I wanna see~!
-
Though considering that there was a big uproar about Misha asking fanyus to stop requesting more Yuzu, I hope fans chill a bit if Yuzu decides to not be featured so much.
-
Yuzu can potentially debut his new EX at Faoi. Doesn't necessarily need any jumps, also doesn't need new ISU rules to create choreo and finalize.
