The earthquake was a life changer. But I think even before the earthquake, there was something special about Yuzu. I think having asthma played a part too...He's talented but he never had an easy path. His asthma used to be very bad when he was young, and despite that he trained hard and achieved what he did.

I agree...and most skaters are really young...Not saying that being young is bad, but some pieces are difficult to interpret if you don't have relevant experiences in life. Many of their lives have been just focused on figure skating, which might not offer the depth required to truly understand and present a master piece.

Maybe we should send judges with questionable judging angry poohs and angry swans...lol... And I feel sad when the skaters get the blame when it's more of the stupid judges fault. I really admire Yuzu's work ethic in not compromising quality even if that puts him in a disadvantage, and I can't really fault others for not sharing the same awesomeness as him. Maybe Yuzu is being considerate...imagine how many more people will die of nose bleed if he wears very fashionable outfits ALL THE TIME!

Ever since I saw his SP at ACI, I've become a fan of Keegan Messing. He has a very unique style and is very fun to watch. I like the sliding on the board and backflip moves he did for his gala today: As he is the first to skate after the intermission, you can really see his blades cut through the ice....I thought it's very cool! Hope to see him more in future, although his age makes him a uncle in the sport... And oh poor Patrick, if this is his last season, I want him to have a blast, not be so disappointed in his skate. =(

I don't care about what happens to the Japan fed; I just want Yuzu to be healthy and happy. I hope he goes to competitions because he likes it, not because of anything else. Most people can tell the difference between the great and the good...maybe the judges need to be retrained. Yea, looking forward to that...though I like H&L a lot better than his best Seimei 1.0...so it might just be down to personal preference.... I shall see if Seimei 2.0 can impress me the way Seimei 1.0 couldn't. =P

I still think H&L will be his best program, even above Seimei 2.0...I've watched H&L probably close to 100 times or more? But still not sick of it...it's just so beautiful...

Yes!!! I have faith in Yuzu as well! =D Although it's nice to watch competitions without freaking out, only Yuzu can give me that kind of high and excitement...never thought I would feel so blessed to watch someone skate...His skates cheer me up when I'm not feeling motivated. =)

I would say Patrick's and Javi's strategy this season are the same as what Patrick did in 2014...stay within the comfort zone and skate clean. I think it's this endless pursuit for improvement and challenges that make Yuzu such an incredible champion.

Yuzu, please spare a thought for Brian's health! Don't be reckless with your training! I agree...it's like Yuna during Sochi 2014...looking back, Yuzu was like Nathan or Shoma in 2014...he must have driven poor Patrick's fans nuts...lol I think we all want Yuzu to get his 2nd OGM, but let's be honest, if *touch wood touch wood* that doesn't happen, we won't love Yuzu any less...his legendary programmes will still be legendary. Yuzu's GOAT imo and probably will always be.

Think about how his WRs for the past 3 years have been unbeaten by anyone but him! Or rewatch his epic skates, so many to choose from! Well said...I'm also a woman in STEM so I know what you're talking about...I like to think that despite all these obstacles in Yuzu's way, he's still the top skater...That as unfair as it is, all this will go down as part of Yuzu's legacy. And us fans who are not blinded by propaganda will continue to shower him with the love he deserves. Maybe this British uncle thinks all asians look the same and he thought he was looking at Nathan when Yuzu was skating....

I'm not sure if I've been fully alive since I've became a satellite...Way too many moments from Yuzu... That means you'll make an awesome girlfriend. Just find a boyfriend who's decent at house chores.
