  1. I'm pretty new to this, what are some things that might jinx Yuzu besides watching him live? I find myself ridiculous for asking the above question, but no harm asking. =P
  2. I second this! I don't personally believe in superstition but I see no harm in following them. Especially since this is for Yuzu, even if it's only a 0.001% chance of jinxing him, I'm not gonna take the risk.
  3. Yuzu's interview is so sweet. And I'm not sure why he would say 'and perhaps only I think so' because it is clear for Yuzu fans that he wouldn't be where he is now without his mum. It still amazes me how dedicated she is to Yuzu. On a side note, I'm curious if her English is actually better than Yuzu's since she's the one who has to go about buying groceries and running the household.
  4. My personal favorites are H&L and Hana ni Nare. I've watched H&L so many times with different commentaries, but I don't think I can ever get bored with it. I also really like Yuzu's Swan ex because he's such a beautiful swan!!! Maybe we can also watch some of Yuzu's most iconic documentaries or interviews? There's simply too much material to choose from we probably want to have more than one streaming party. XD
  5. Welcome @Pina to the Planet! Will we also have special badges for our 2000th satellite?
  6. I tried resisting but my curiosity overcame. It was so heartbreaking to see how disappointed Yuzu was. And it makes me mad that people use these instances as examples of Yuzu not being able to withstand pressure. I know this has been discussed before, but I can't understand why people expect Yuzu to be perfect at ALL times...Zhenya's type of consistency is probably one in a million. And why is it that some people treat Yuzu as a failure or think that he's becoming irrelevant when he gets less than gold? Looking at his Boston FS score - 184.61, that is still higher than all but SEVEN personal best scores for FS. When Yuzu screws up, he's still better than all but 6 people at their best (1 of the 7 is himself) in the world! Out of curiosity, I looked up the personal best total scores of all skaters. Assuming Yuzu got 0 points for his SP, his latest WR FS still puts him at 71st place for total personal best score! Yuzu is by far his greatest critic; he doesn't need anymore criticism from people who can't appreciate what he has accomplished thus far.
  7. It's July 1st in Toronto! And omg, this is the best thing ever! When was this written? Welcome to Planet Hamyulla!
  8. 6 hours and 42 minutes before the season starts over here. I realized I'm in a time zone one hour behind Yuzu (if he's in Toronto now). So it's 5 hours and 42 minutes for him! =)
  9. I guess I can feel lucky that this is the off-season, so I'm still spending time catching up! I'm on page 65 on this thread. I can't understand people who thinks Yuzu's skating isn't beautiful. I'm a sports idiot, but I was immediately drawn in by Yuzu's performance. I didn't even pay attention to the skater and it took me a few videos to realize that all the skating that has been amazing me comes from . To make sure that I'm not biased, I've started watching more of other skaters' performances as well. I can see how each skater has their own strength, but only Yuzu looks like he's flying on ice. It's as if there's no friction between him and the ice. And Yuzu's so awesome, I can go on for a while, but I shall stop here since everyone here knows that.
  10. Hi everyone, I'm new here. I've only gotten interested in Figure Skating and became a fan of Yuzu a little more than a month ago. Why did I only found him so recently? I've been missing out on so much!!! Anyway, this is my first time posting and I wanna talk about Yuzu and Shoma's friendship. Although I can sense the rivalry between them, I think their relationship is still very good. Look at how cute they are!!! While reading the comments in this video, I saw a comment by Mel T: "I don't get Shoma! He admires and loves Yuzuru but at the same time he wants to destroy him. Not "become as good as he is" , not even " beat him " but "DESTROY" him, that's what Shoma said. So my question is whyyyy??? Is that a Japanese thing I really don't get it. I love them together when they joke around and have fun but I can't completely enjoy such videos because I know Shoma has something in his mind and I can't tell what..." She's referring to this: video. I'll post what I replied to her here again: "I just saw the original video. Although my Japanese isn't great, I can understand the Chinese subtitles. I think it's technically not a mistranslation but that there's no English word equivalent to what Shoma was trying to express. There are different types of 'destroy' in Chinese (and I think Japanese too because these 2 languages are closer to each other). The 'destroy' that Shoma used means to defeat Yuzu decisively, meaning that he wants to surpass Yuzu by significant amounts. I think that's very normal of Shoma to feel this way since this is a competitive sports. The 'destroy' that he's using is strong language, but has no malicious intent because this 'destroy' has little to do with damaging or breaking something apart." Since Chinese and Japanese are closer in terms of language, I tend to trust Chinese translations more than English ones when there are both. I see some parallels of Yuzu's rivalry with the other skaters with sibling rivalry. You do love each other, but you want to outdo one another! Love is complicated.
